Scottish Uruguayan

edit

Hello, Prince of Peas, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Scottish Uruguayan, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Scottish Uruguayan. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

Thanks again for helping build the free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 03:12, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Wikipedia:Article Incubator/List of German actors (from 1895 to the present) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. 65.94.76.126 (talk) 16:43, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Repost of List of German actors (from 1895 to the present)

edit

A tag has been placed on List of German actors (from 1895 to the present) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's discussion directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. 65.94.76.126 (talk) 16:43, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of ITablet

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ITablet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. 65.94.76.126 (talk) 17:06, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

ANI notice

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 17:39, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please stop copy/pasting pages from the Incubator to create articles; if you continue, you will be blocked temporarily. These pages are in the Incubator because they're not yet ready to be articles, and making them articles should be done after talking with others. Meanwhile, Wikipedia's legal licensing provisions require you to provide attribution of everyone who has contributed significantly to a page, and you're committing copyright infringement by copying these pages to make them articles without attributing everyone. When moving content, please use the move function instead of copying and pasting. Nyttend (talk) 19:30, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

The article List of German actors (from 1895 to the present) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

substantially the same, with little improvement from the version that was deleted at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_German_actors_(from_1895_to_the_present). This was cut and pasted out of the sandboxed version Wikipedia:Article Incubator/List of German actors (from 1895 to the present) from the last AFD.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 65.94.76.126 (talk) 07:17, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please ignore the prod notice above, because what 65.94.76.126 has failed to tell you is that there is currently a discussion on Talk:List of German actors (from 1895 to the present)#Requested move which may result in several smaller lists being created out of the current list. You are more than welcome to participate in that discussion. Green Giant (talk) 23:35, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Article Incubator/ITablet

edit

Wikipedia:Article Incubator/ITablet (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) has been nominated for deletion. Since you tried to create this as an article through a copy-and-paste into mainspace, you may want to participate in the discussion. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 05:08, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

The incubator articles you cut and pasted to mainspace are up for deletion

edit

See WP:MFD if you're still interested in all those copy-and-paste moved articles that were reverted back into the incubator. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 05:04, 29 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
