Speedy deletion of Jo-Ann Mort

Re: Citations on Yerida (and other article)

Hello Pini! Glad to know that you are trying to improve your editing on Wikipedia. Here are the reasons I said that the citations were a bloody mess:
1. They were regular-sized - usually small-sized citations are accepted on Wikipedia, using the {{Reflist}} template - I have already fixed this.
2. There are too many spaces in the refs themselves - while this is not visible to the reader, it is a nightmare for the editor. Usually, the citations are either completely spaceless, like:

- or vertically structured (more organized, but makes it harder to read the actual text or the article for editors) -

| author = Doe, John

3. Naming and consolidating refs - it's good when references have a name, because then they can be used again on the page. For example:

<ref name="ynetnews">{{Cite web|title=Earthquake in China|author=Doe, John|publisher=Yedioth Ahronoth}}</ref>

Later, it can be used, like: <ref name="ynetnews" />

4. Try to use specific templates for citations, instead of the citation template (this is of course not required).
5. Avoid entirely fields which aren't necessary. Don't know the date of the article? Don't put "date =". Is the format html (default)? Don't put "format =". Is English the language of the article? Don't put a language field, etc.
6. Avoid using authorlink/author-link. This is only for notable authors who have an article on Wikipedia. Most authors on regular news sources (Ynet, BBC, etc.) are non-notable and will never have articles, so it's pointless to link them.
7. While it's a matter of preference, I think it's better to use the author field instead of the first/last fields. While the latter is more modular and clearer to the system, it really makes no difference and only clutters the page with more fields.
8. Dates in refs must always be formatted yyyy-mm-dd, without a link. They will be linked automatically.

Hi. From what you told me on my talk page, you still can't use that. You can't take information from two sources (The number of Jewish people from your source and the population of Beverly Hills from the census bureau) and combine them to synthesize a new piece of information. (The % of Jewish population). That is WP:SYNTH and WP:OR. I am going to ask you to revert that, but you may be able to find a source for that at the listed reference for the census bureau. Thanks.
