Know anything about Birmingham architects?

Some recent vandalism to J. A. Chatwin, which I see you've been involved with in the past.

The editor (Special:contributions/82.36.89.155 / talk) has a track record of recent vandalism, but it's an anon so hard to tell for sure that it's the same person.

Their recent edit looks broadly good (can't think why he was described as using the gothic style rather than classical in the first place), but the claim that Julius also went by the name "Timmy" rang a few alarm bells. I suspect that it's a more subtle vandal than usual, hiding a hoax wrapped up in a contribution. Would you happen to know whether they did use this name? The editor has now cited a book ref that surely describes the subject, but it's not a book I have on the shelf, so it's impractical to check that the ref supports the cite. Any comment welcome. likely typo on Twilight page???

I don't know how to "do" Wikipedia but you seem to have been involved in the Twilight entry recently so I'm hoping you can take care of this.

On the "Twilight" page, under the "Definitions" heading, I believe (but am not 100% sure) the equation should be changed to be 50 arc minutes, not 50 arc seconds. The double quote " is used to indicated arc seconds, I don't know what the symbol for arc minutes is.

I believe the "Sunrise" page has this correct - reference the "Sunrise" page under the "Corrections to the Equation" heading: "... (or -50 arcminutes)"

Infobox Campground broken

The campground infobox when implemented without a picture is displaying [[Image:{{{Photo}}}|300px]] like that shown for Sykes Camp. There does not seem to be a way around this. Can you offer an assist? This is beyond my ability. Altstikman (talk) 22:55, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Infobox park width problem

I just added the Template:Infobox park to the page Oregon Ridge Park. It seems to be coming out extremely wide. I don't know what is causing this for sure, but I think it may be the long website. The original creator of this infobox has not made an edit since July 2009, but I noticed you have been editing more recently, and you made one of the most recent edits to this one, so I decided to contact you. Hello Pigsonthewing/Archive 22! A non-British user seems to be attempting to suggest that the Brits are not pronouncing their own British place names correctly, and appears to believe that it is a policy of Wikipedia to instruct the Brits, through the use of the IPA, how British English should be pronounced. He/she also seems to be of the opinion that it is Wikipedia policy to regard British English by default as a rhotic language, which it is not. Some British Wikipedians are trying to avoid an edit conflict and have requested my support. I have added my comments to the debate the non-British user has has started in defence of his/her multiple, WP:BOLD? changes to IPA pronunciations of British place names. As a professional linguist I accord every version of English its own particular merits and my position here strictly concerns the way in which the IPA is interpreted and applied in the Wikipedia, and how the current policy may need to be changed through a truly representative consensus. If you would like to help resolve this issue, please see User talk:Kudpung#IPA, RP, etc. and User talk:Lfh#Warwickshire to get the background. I could not find anybody to ask this question. I found your link through the history page of Wikipedia:Timeline. I wanted to ask if i created timeline of events in Aafia Siddiqui, then will it be ok according to WP policies? Artwork Infobox help

Hello,

I was hoping you could help me with a question regarding the Artwork Infobox. I'm involved with Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikipedia Saves Public Art and we are using the Artwork Infobox in our example for creating new articles on public art. However, we would like to include Ownership of the artwork as this is an important bit of information (especially in public art, where outdoor sculptures are not always clearly marked). I'm a relatively new Wikipedian & have created a handful of templates, but I'm wary of making changes to a major Infobox, and even when I messed around in the sandbox I wasn't having luck navigating the format, anyway. Just to add on to what HstryQT is saying, we'd like to be able to add owner to the location--sometime these are different. For example Mega-Gem is currently located on the campus of IUPUI, but it is owned by the Indianapolis Museum of Art. It does not seem to be possible to reflect both of these facts in the current infobox. This is a fairly common occurrence with public artworks--it's location is much different than its owner. Even artworks on view at museums & libraries are not always owned by them. Does that make sense?

Further, it would be interesting to have a standard h x w x l dimensions system. While I love the way the infobox auto converts inches to cm, not having a dimension for length, but having one for diameter seems a bit odd, and potentially unnecessary. If you have the h x w x l, the diameter will be implied. Perhaps you could have all four just for added clarity on round things?

For a good comparison of museums measuring 3-D artworks, here's a Picasso at the Metand a a Picasso at MoMA. Both use the H x W x L. Not to be a bother (and I'd make the edits myself if I weren't so scared of editing that template), but it would be great if by "Dimensions" it said "H x W x L".
