Twinkle

{{helpme}}

My twinkle does not appear to be funtioning. When I press submit changes and the box comes up, nothing is within the box and the box remains there, doing nothing. Is there a way to sort it out? Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talkcontribs) 11:05, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Which browser do you use? Did you bypass your cache? mabdul 13:41, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think that I have sorted it. I just deselected twinkle and then reselected it on preferences and it appeared to work. Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talkcontribs) 13:43, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I has stopped working once again but now, I have no option on the toolbar at the top to use any of the functions associated with twinkle. It is selected on my preferences and is in my monobook script. I am using internet explorer. Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talkcontribs) 16:08, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Which version of Internet Explorer do you use? Have you recently changed browsers / browser version? Have you tried it with another browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome? Regards SoWhy 17:40, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Evert Gummesson

edit

Hello Pianoplonkers, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Evert Gummesson, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Theleftorium (talk) 19:07, 25 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I curious as to why some of these links were removed? Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 14:28, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am just getting the hang of AWB. I was deleting the repeated wikilinks and it seems that I have made a mistake. I apologise. Thanks for pointing it out--Pianoplonkers (talkcontribs) 15:59, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
No problem, no harm done. I thought they might have been removed as being duplicates of the infobox. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 21:27, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think that was what it was. Is that wrong?--Pianoplonkers (talkcontribs) 22:14, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I don't know. I'm going to have a look at WP:OVERLINKING. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 23:14, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK I looked and at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (linking)#Repeated links it says that where the first link is in the box it's OK in the article. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 23:21, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mass for Four Voices (Byrd)

edit

On the page that I have recently created: Mass for Four Voices (Byrd), the references under the movements section appear as invalid. I have then looked at the wiki code but cannot find anything wrong with it. Could you please have a look and see if you can solve this problem. Thanks--Pianoplonkers (talkcontribs) 17:15, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Fixed - I really don't know what the problem was there; changing the ref name to just one word seemed to fix everything. Here is more information about the specific error, but it doesn't seem to be relevant. Hope this helped. --andy4789 · (talk? contribs?) 19:40, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • I've gone ahead and cleaned up the article. The error was the formatting of the named references. Essentially, if you have long ref names, like you had, there needs to be quotes around the name. I shortened the citation and reformatted the article overall. On another note, please review the article citations provided. The second and third references provided are not actually proper references or citations. We need full and complete information so that readers will be able to locate the specific references for further information and research. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact me. Best regards, Cind.amuse (Cindy) 20:02, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi Pianoplonkers,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
