For the record, your comment on the admin noticeboard that "he apparently is taking my edit as some sort of 'blasphemy' to his hobby" is both inaccurate and uncalled-for. Kyle DOES have a unique wit...he once threw himself down a flight of stairs @ Hunter CHS ...that kinda puts him in a category w/ Chevy Chase, no ?

He is a motor-mouth too ! Editing Kyle Baker edit

I think it important to show that Kyle attended Hunter College HS, for the epistemological & developmental psyche value; so as young kids see that higher education is the key to success. It's a very high quality education for FREE, if u pass the 6th grade entrance exam (only aprox 11% do), Cheryl passed it the next year & Ed the year after her; thanx much to Kyle's giving them pointers on the test, which included 9th grade math.
I also think it's important to show that (Redacted)

What kind of evidence is needed to show that Kyle participated in creating the Shrek Donkey ? he put sketches on his new web-site...
'Truth' should be listed as notable works as Kyle's African-American themed work will (eventually) be seen as part of his 'legacy' (q.v.)
I wasn't trying to be 'fannish' or even 'promote' Kyle, but I do think he's a fascinating Afro-merican individual, in a day when we now have 'blacks' slowly 'movin-on-up' in American society and the 1st 'mulatto' President.
The George Clinton 'Martial Law' video should be mentioned, Comedian Sinbad & RHCP's bassist Flea are in it too.
Part of the reason Kyle received financial backing from Shaq is his Afro-American themed works. @ Xmas last year, Kyle said (Redacted)

Let's take your points one by one: "Kyle attended Hunter College HS ... 1/2 Afro-merican." Please provide reliable-source citations. In the case of biographies of living persons, uncited personal material can be removed immediately.
"Shrek Donkey" -- He also calls himself "the greatest cartoonist in the world," taking it seriously enough to put a trademark tag by it. His website shows his Shrek Donkey art. Was it used or discarded in favor of other designs? Did he work on spec for a day or spend months as an animator there? We don't know. We need a disinterested third-party source to verify his claims, especially when Baker himself says in an interview that he lies.
"Truth" being notable: That's solely an opinion, and it is not widely shared. It won no awards, it received generally negative reviews, and perhaps most significantly, Baker did not write it.
"George Clinton 'Martial Law' video" -- Find a citation and add it to filmography

LOL, I would SO LOVE TO MEET U !!! You must really love comics ! Kyle is (Redacted) to which Kyle responded 'I wrote that, anyone can say that', that's the nature of US marketing, just ask Howard Stern AKA "King of All Media"

OK, I thunk Kyle wrote Truth, or as Cheryl & I joke 'Trufe' based on David Allen Grier's 'Crank Yankers' skits. Maybe it didn't receive good reviews, but how can u NOT realize the significance of the premise, as (didactic) historical fiction ! The Tuskegee experiments were a human atrocity! ...akin to more something Adolph Hitler, Idi Amin or Stalin, may be associated with. Kyle recently spoke @ Howard, & then at Univ. of Montreal(?) or Quebec for $2000. He is slowly but surely making a name as a 'black rights' historian/informant/advocate (not sure the correct term there). Let me point out here that Bill Cosby was NEVER EVEN NOMINATED for an Emmy for 'The Cosby Show' !!! yet it was #1 in Nielsen ratings for ~4 yrs. In fact Robert Guilliam is the ONLY black actor to receive a Lead Comedy male Emmy, for Benson in 1985?. So just because no awards were given for Truth...the Monkees film Head was sorta panned, yet today, 30 years later has great artistic significance & merit. Nietzsche was not received well in his day, but has been put on a par w/ Shakespeare & Plato by scholars. Mathematician Godfried Liebnitz 'invented' binary counting 256 before the 1st computer !

It's ironic that u did not footnote the 'behind the scenes tale' of the Letia Lerner story after all ur preaching, but I'm pretty sure the intro/foreward in Bizarro #1 TPB has the tale told well, which I listed in the Ref section, but u deleted yest.

The Elseworlds issue not being distributed in North America IS footnoted, by footnote #8.

Is it inappropriate to mention that Kyle is a mulatto of African American heritage ? Certainly one can see that by any of his youtube videos and web-site. or that both his parents were graphic arts trained ? from an accredited college ? i.e. It's important to know that barry Bonds Dad was a pro in MLB, that's partly why Barry was 1 of the top players ever/HOFer.
Would there be an appropriate way of telling some of Kyle's witty real-life anecdotes ? Maybe via uploading of a Youtube video interview by his sibling ? I can see this is a slippery slope area & I do wish to both add useful info & follow the rules as best as possible. I do know Kyle & his sister are very busy, so I took my time to add some info I knew, sorry for not having 2ndary sources.

What's rather funny is that if I were a lawyer representing Mr. Baker & someone added "I lie all the time" ...on the 6th most visited web-site in the world, I could prob'ly have that removed, rather easily, as an out of context remark. Maybe my studies in (academic) philosophy can be an asset to Wikipedia...maybe not. thanx for ur time = ) Sorry for the entropy.

Censoring a direct quote edit

I understand you don't like Baker saying of himself, "I lie all the time." However, it is a direct quote, perfectly in context — read the original interview, which is footnoted and linked, and you'll see that this is true. I'm not sure it's appropriate for an acquaintance of the subject, who may not be the most objective person in regards to that subject, to be removing something based on a personal feeling that the subject might not like it. If you feel the quote is not representative of what he says in the interview, ask other editors to comment. Ask an admin to weigh in with an opinion. Deleting something for personal reasons does not help provide a full understanding of the subject. We don't whitewash. And heaven knows, there is a mountain of accomplishments here of which any subject can be proud. --Tenebrae (talk) 00:39, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

...not sure what such a " has to do w/ anything significant, "I eat all the time" would be just as frivolous. Is Baker known as a 'notorious liar' ? Even potentially libelous as taken out of context. I would even say it's 'vandalism'...if there was 'intent' to be libelous.

Ur ad hominem type reasoning of my motives is also superfluous. Peace is contagious (talk) 00:49, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

What's more astonishing is that M. Tenebrae, who has such technical over-sight of procedures, lacks the philosophical insight to see how 'unencyclopedic' if not down-right irresponsible to put 'I lie all the time' " randomly in the article & not in the paragraph about Cowboy Wally (which I've never even read actually) but can figure out from the article where it belongs in a WIKI page, JEEPERS ! At 1st Tenebrae was insulting my intelligence (q.v.) [via claims of 'tone'(q.v)] & white-washing all my work, which was darn frustrating ...but then he proves himself somewhat hypocritical (q.v.) Peace is contagious (talk) 17:15, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
So THAT is what y'all think, that I AM Kyle Baker ?!? This IS the TRUE problem w/ vicarious Cyber reality (sigh) (Thanx, I did not know only Kyle could sue) Doc is an attorney ? U people are all kinda 'goofy' and or/histrionic, jumping to conclusions. Are u all comics fans ? I never had this much problem on any other article, save where some anal-retentive Mormon pulled all my article photos. Clearly an administrator should look @ the 'I lie all the time'...obviously T-man thinks Kyle is known for his consummate lying. Peace is contagious (talk) 14:47, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Since I'm NOT Kyle baker, there is no way I can sue Wikipedia or Tenebrae or anyone for libel reguarding this issue, according to editor 'Doc'. Thus, to put it in the vernacular "Case Closed." Aside from that, I believe a reasonable compromise was achieved by putting the "I lie..." quote where it belongs, in Baker's career history in the Cowboy Wally paragraph. Peace is contagious (talk) 15:42, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
How can we know that, since Baker has admitted that he lies all the time? Yworo (talk) 15:44, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm sure u thus realize that there is SOME REASON 'why' u cannot block me. One does not simply become a judge (in reality, I mean here), simply because they have watched many a trial, there is a procedure and much education required; and often enuf we still get 'screw-ball' judges, even on the Supreme Court. Peace is contagious (talk) 16:53, 16 November 2010 (UTC) Ps. u know I'm not really Bruce Wayne? (...but don't tell Ywo, OK SHHHHH ;))Reply

Sources edit

We don't allow direct references to the content of media. That called a primary source and doesn't prove that the appearance in the media is notable. We require third-party reliable sources to establish that the media itself and the appearance within the media has been taken note of by some third-party, making it notable. Yworo (talk) 15:36, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Now I see why Wikipedia is not allowed as (anything more than) a (cursory) reference in academic papers, this site has a middle of the bell-curve veracity litmus test.

Blocked indefinitely (but not permanently) for legal threats edit

Please review the Wikipedia policy: No Legal Threats

Calling other people's edits libelous and hinting that suits might happen, after already being warned to stop and being asked to retract things, is clearly violating the NLT policy.

An Administrator DID NOT warn me. How should a reasonable person, know which warnings are valid ? Peace is contagious (talk) 17:11, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
You are displaying a serious ignorance about how Wikipedia works. I tried to explain but you ignored me. Warnings do not have to be made by an admin, they may be made by any experienced editor. Admins simply enforce the warnings. Yworo (talk) 17:51, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Apparently I do, OBVIOUSLY I do...& u didn't try to explain anythng Doc did, and u may have l'il knowledge of how 'reality' works & what 'coercion' is. OBVIOUSLY vandalism happens, how do I know that u are not some friend of Tenebrae, who puts innacurate (yet 3rd party verifiable) info into articles (i.e. Kyle Baker's Mom was not always a AV cord. I believe that is her retirement job, or 2nd job; what IS important is that she had a BA from Pratt in Graphic Art) ...so despite ur footnotes, ur creating a distorted 'world of facts'. It's almost sad & utterly hysterical how serious u take this and how inaccurate u truly are, especially when u have an 'expert' telling u. enjoy ur pseudo-world of distortions. Peace is contagious (talk) 00:27, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

You are blocked from editing (other than this talk page) under the NLT policy indefinitely, but not permanently.

If you retract all threats and promise not to make further ones, any administrator can unblock your account. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 20:43, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid there is some confusion here, I explained that I am not Kyle Baker & was informed thus I cannot sue, so what's the problem ? Peace is contagious (talk) 17:11, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

what exactly do I have to do to satisfy the over-seer(s)? Please note that the inflammatory statement "I Lie all the time" was put into proper context & left there! So it seems my 'opinion' was mutually agreed upon. Peace is contagious (talk) 17:28, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I would also like to point out that someone with legal knowledge (like an attorney or paralegal) should do the 'blocking' in such an instance, as 'blocking' someone for threatening to sue, can be seen as coercion. I do not expect computer programmers to comprehend the technicalities of law. I'd also like to point out that my edits have been 'bullied' by user Tenebrae. He claims that any amount of detail I write is 'promotional' in nature, which is quite frustrating.Peace is contagious (talk) 17:11, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

If I may step in as an uninvolved editor, Peace, you need to understand that until you remove and renounce that legal threat above, no one will be willing to listen to your points. Wikipedia takes legal threats very seriously for a variety of reasons, and simply saying you're not the subject so you wouldn't be able to sue isn't sufficient. Just remove the threat and say you understand the policy, and you have no intention of suing or taking legal action, and an admin will unblock you. Then you can try and make your points about the subject. Dayewalker (talk) 18:24, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

thanx u seem level-headed. U do see my point? ...'banning' those who issue legal threats is a form of coercion & a poor policy; yes maybe 90% of legal threats are superfluous, but clearly insisting that 'I lie all the time' be stuck @ the very end of a 'Later Career' section is irresponsible (if not libelous and any sane individual would realize that, however Tenebrae relied on technical knowledge of the 3rr rule) He HAS NOW LEFT if where it belongs (where I last put it). He SHOULD fear being sued, unfortunately I'm not Kyle & I don't think Kyle would even care.
It's not that I wish to make ANY more points about Kyle Baker ...but rather in any future article I don't want to be oppressed (q.v.) by Mies van Der Rhoe 'less is more' type zealots. ...however these 2 zealots Tenebrae & Yworo seemed to 'get off' on throwing around rules that they do not clearly understand themselves. They DO NOT CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THE PHILOSOPHIES UNDERLYING THESE RULES (all rules are guidelines, not etched in stone).

Heck, even lawyers are 'artists' more than technicians, almost any law can be 'swung to the left or right' so as truth & justice may prevail. I think a better solution would have been to block me from the Kyle Baker page, but obviously if these people were 'smarter' they wouldn't be wasting time on Wikipedia. C'mon look at the picture of the dude who blocked me... I should be charging for psychotherapy @ this point. I'll remove the comment, simply cuz I want to edit other pages, but I'll put it right back if anyone should choose to be irresponsibly libelous, as it should be...if no one chose to stand up & sacrifice against unjust laws, then we'd be in some sort of corrupt or semi-corrupt society where those in power stayed in power pretty much...oh wait, that's what exists here in the USA. = ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Peace is contagious (talkcontribs)

Your new round of threats edit

That's free advice "zealot" and "if these people were smarter"
I do not wish to discuss US LAW w/ u sir, if u fully understood it, u prob'ly would not write things out of context.
No @ this point I defn'ly don't want to meet u, u seem like a bore. But thanx for twisting my words & insinuating some nefarious motive, that's 'cute' & manipulative of u.
Can I block u from my talk-page, cuz I really don't want to hear ur 'opinions'...& we can sit here all-day arguing the details, it's quite unproductive. So I'm asking u kindly to not write on my talk page. Go read ur comic books or chop-up someone else's work, I find u disrespectful to others writing stlye in favor of ur own incomplete, uninformative minimalism. It's usually rich people like u trying to step on the poor, like me...I don't have park front property or an ex-model wife. In fact, my medical insurance is provided by the Gov't. Ywroo's nonsense is even more anal-retentive than urs, & thus I erased it, it's cluttering u my page -less is more' -Mies Van Der Rhoe (ur philosophy,no ?)

Starting over edit

Please read our policy on not making legal threats.

Wikipedia policy is that you may not make them or hint at making them. Don't do it. You've done it a bunch. You have to stop doing that, agree not to do it in the future, and retract the ones you have made.

If you disagree that Wikipedia's policy should be that, then that's a viewpoint you can argue. HOWEVER - that is what policy is, and what's going to be enforced.

You will remain blocked until you abide with the policy. If you do not want to abide by it, the discussions here are pointless; your best course is to just stop editing.

If this is not clear, please let me know and ask for clarification on what details need to be clearer.

Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 01:57, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanx: please clarify this part: 'You should instead contact the person or people involved directly, by email or through any other contact methods the user provides.' Are all user required to put an email on their userpage ? How would I 'contact' them w/o 'writing' directly on their Wiki userpage ?

Well then, if you want to confirm that you now understand that making what appear to be threats to sue, or accusing people of activities that they might be sued for, is not acceptable on Wikipedia (and that includes by Wikipedia email), and you understand that should you do it again, you will be blocked again, then I will unblock you. I can confirm that: 'I now understand that making what appear to be threats to sue, or accusing people of activities that they might be sued for, is not acceptable on Wikipedia (and that includes by Wikipedia email), and I understand that should I do it again, I will be blocked again'.
...& TRULY hope this will not happen. I disagree w/ the policy, but I DO understand my 'rights'. In earnest hopes of avoiding any such future statements, how do u recommend I handle a similar situation in the future? I had numerous people giving me advice, w/ no hierarchy of authority to observe & thus no clue of which advice was accurate and which not.
Incidentally, may I also point out that the user Tenebrea I 'threatened w/ legal suit' was banned from editing for 1 year another comic book writers page, "John Buscema" ...does that show at least some reasonable doubt that my being upset & that my 'bannable' behaviour MAY have at least been over a valid point/criticism ? Since this is the second time Peace is contagious has brought it up: I volunteered to be blocked so long as a fanatic editor who was making changes disapproved by RfC was blocked as well. I say "fanatic" since he'd bee blocked for a year himself previously, and changed his handle. It was a more elegant solution than going through more weeks of mediation and arbitration. It left the article in good shape without the fanatic editor's non-consensus additions. And I'd prefer you not wikistalk me.--Tenebrae (talk) 03:05, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hold up, Elen: "I'll remove the comment, simply cuz I want to edit other pages, but I'll put it right back if anyone should choose to be irresponsibly libelous, as it should be" still needs to be removed in his above comments, right? It would confirm he understands he doesn't have the right to do that. Peace is contagious, I'm not imposing new hoops, but it would be good if you struck that comment (put <s> and </s> on either side of it so it is struck). If you have a dispute with another user, there are a number of dispute resolution options. If a user is incivil, you can report them at a rather odd noticeboard called Wikiquette Alerts. If you feel someone is actually libelling you, you can report it at the Administrators noticeboard for incidents.Elen of the Roads (talk) 01:07, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and one other helpful point. Wikipedia is not a hierarchy. You will find you get as good advice from non-admins as well as admins. More importantly, any editor can place a warning on your page, and if it is made in good faith, you should take notice of it. Elen of the Roads (talk) 01:10, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ah yes, he spoke at the anti-Semitic holocaust denying organisation the Institute for Historical Review. That's not the source used in the article and is anything but a reliable source for Irving. It does help make clear that he changed his mind about speaking at their conferences so we need to add that to the article, but with a better source. I hate deleterious lies, of many shapes & sizes. I also disdain sycophants, opportunists & zealots. Also one may never know fully & completely what happened @ many points in History i.e. The Pilate Stone was discovered in 1961, yet for ~2000 yrs (q.v.), there was no hard evidence that Pontius Pilate even existed, I'm not sure if Josephus had mention of him, and many people would bet their lives that the Jews were slaves of the Egyptians. Request reason:

I'm not even sure what trolling is...if some1 could explain that. I made a valid observation, that RObert GUillaume is the only African-American to win a male Comedy Lead Actor Emmy & a non-admin was erasing/vandalizing (q.v.) my work. I realize the vandalization is probably the moot issue & thus the crux of the matter. Cobra Commander edit

Hi. Regarding your edits in the Profile section of Cobra Commander, I would like to know why you kept changing the two images I've added. I'm hoping to have a discussion to know what you're thinking about, since I believe the images of the Cobra Commander cosplays that show the iconic mask and hood are appropriate.— MC-123 (talk) 03:27, 21 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

hi, amigo ! I agree the hood & mask r iconic, but those specific shots r just aesthetically awful... I see there r dozens of pix available on Wiki Commons, I picked the 1 that seems not only very accurate to the 80s imagery, but also of a tall, 'handsome' model wearing/filling it out. The header photo has a pic of the hooded Cmdr... I would also like to see a pic of the original helmet & hooded 1983 toys added, under the Toy section. Thanx for yer time, hopefully we can agree on an auspicious solution ! - Dave M. Medlar

Thank you for your comments Dave. I appreciate your thoughts, but I'd like to know why you think those images are "awful". December 2022 edit

I reverted your edits to Jerry Rosenberg, and you reverted them back with the edit summary "Surreptitious vandalism and/or dilettantism". Rather then engage in a protracted edit war, could you please fix the following:

  • The ampersand is not used in Wikipedia prose.
  • Movie titles are italicized.
  • Movies and books that are not notable (red links), require a source.
  • Remove "greatly" from "greatly reduced", or explain in numbers or a percentage what specific amount it was reduced.

Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article.
