Cricket infoboxes

edit

Hi. Just so as you know, we don't add teams to a cricketer's infobox until they have played a competitive match for the side. Please don't do this. Once they have played a match, feel free to, but we wouldn't want to say 2021-present, particularly in the case of overseas players where there is no obvious long term relationship with the franchise. Just say 2021 for now, and should they play in 2022 we can say 2021-2022 and so on. Thanks. Blue Square Thing (talk) 09:18, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to Sunil Gavaskar. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Donner60 (talk) 04:05, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Viv Richards

edit

Hello and thanks for your edits; However, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a fansite or similar. Richards legacy and standing in the game is well established and there are probably enough tributes from other cricketers in the legacy section now. Anymore would be overdoing it a bit I reckon. Please could you also watch grammar; E.g. "rates Richards as the greatest batsman" not "rates Richards as greatest batsman" I.e. it needs the definite article (the) included... depending on context of course. I know some varieties of English will omit both "the" and "a" but this article is written in UK (or at least US) English and they should be used. Cheers, happy editing.
