I would like to continue working on this submission but I cannot find it at the link that you provided above. I cannot find it anywhere in Wikipedia. So I started a new one for Jacob Arfwedson in April 2019 and I had an almost final version and I was going over a preview, then my computer did an automatic update, and now I cannot find this article either. and when I asked the HelpDesk, the person who replied could not find it either. Could you please help me retrieve these articles? And please let me know how to save while one is still working on an article but before it is ready to publish changes.Ontogloria (talk) 09:00, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Help Desk respond. edit

Hi Ontogloria,

Thanks for your email. I normally try to stay away from long email trains outside of work, and talking to external wiki partners, so it's usually easier to reply on a person's talk page. There's a few bits that I'll comment on below:

  • If you don't publish changes - that's it. Sometimes your browser can restore previous tabs after an update, but it's unlikely. Wikipedia usually recommends publishing changes quite regularly to fix these issues, so you don't lose all your work if you have a power cut/etc. As per this, it's likely you haven't actually got a saved version of your recent version, that's why I can't see it.
  • There is some good news, it is actually possible to retain the version from 2014. Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/G13 explains this pretty well. The way to do this, is to click the link, and paste the following in, and an admin may WP:REFUND the page for you. Note - if the reason was for copyright violations, clear spam, or otherwise against wikipedia's policies, admin's will not refund the page. As it looks like it was only deleted due to being held too long on the server, then it should be ok to get returned.
{{SAFESUBST:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jacob Arfwedson}}
 {{SAFESUBST:^| ↑↑↑ paste the page name into the
                        blank space above the arrows
                        then click "Publish changes" below
 }}

This will put in a formal message for refund. Hope this helps. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 10:44, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

COI edit

You have an obvious conflict of interest, which you must declare. Please don't write about yourself and read the guidance below. Also be aware that misuse of multiple accounts can lead to a block.

Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that he meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to him or his organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the he claims or interviewing him. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above

Courtesy ping for Lee Vilenski, it's an unsourced self-promo full of links to his own publications. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:38, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
