Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Ohnoitsnoahdotcom", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to reference the name of a website, which may be considered promotional. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Thanks for the welcome! I feel as though my username does not violate Wikipedia's username policy, as I am not profiting from the site it is referring to, as it is a personal website with no purpose other than sharing my art and blog (which also doesn't promote anything that makes me income). My Wikipedia username being the same as my website is solely for the reason of consistency between my online accounts. Ohnoitsnoahdotcom (talk) 01:40, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Ohnoitsnoahdotcom

edit

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Ohnoitsnoahdotcom, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Idell (talk) 02:07, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

I have removed any references to my website, which I believe may have been the cause for the flag. I apologize for any frustration I may have caused. --Ohnoitsnoahdotcom (talk) 02:25, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

But your username itself is your website name. I recommend that you change it voluntarily, to avoid ongoing conflict. Many experienced editors object to such usernames. Cullen328 (talk) 08:15, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I understand. I will change it, the only issue is I'm not sure what to change it too. Someone has "ohnoitsnoah", but they don't do anything with the account so I'm kinda just thinking about possible options. Do you think just removing the "dot" would be enough or what would you recommend? --Ohnoitsnoahdotcom (talk) 15:49, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
