Hi there. Thanks for reading my user page. No, I didn't delete the article. I saw that it was on the list of articles which had been proposed for deletion, so I left you a note about it. At the time I left the note the article hadn't been deleted yet.

I don't remember what the article was about, otherwise I'd try to help you understand the reason. If you click Destroke, there'll be a link that says deletion log. What the deletion log says is that User:The Epopt deleted the article after it had been proposed for deletion for five days. You might want to review the proposed policy at WP:PROD.

If you would like to know the reason article was considered inappropriate for Wikipedia, you might ask User:The Epopt. You might also review WP:DP for the deletion policy here. Because the article was deleted thru "prod" (as opposed to the debate-oriented AfD), if you would like him/her to restore the article, he/she should do so. But keep in mind that if it doesn't meet Wikipedia standards, it could still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for discussion, where you could explain why you think the article should be kept, but experienced editors may decide that it really shouldn't be.

Hi, actually, you really did a lot to fix up this article! When I read your notice and clicked on the page, I couldn't understand why I had prodded it either. But when I went to the edit history and saw what it looked like at the time, I see why I put the {{prod}} tag on there. At that point, it was just a solipsistic list of questions with answers, and I couldn't make heads or tails of what the article was about; moreover it was in a completely unencyclopedic style. Also, I wasn't saying that the book was nonsense, but that the article was. In any case, you improved it quite a bit, and as it stands now I have no problem with the article staying. I restored the prod tag because the editor who removed it neither explained nor changed anything in the article. The editor might have blanked the whole article as well including the tag, reverting it will cause the tag to be "restored;" or should it also be removed in that case? An objection is an objection, regardless of whether the reasoning is explained. Wikipedia talk:Proposed deletion#Reason for removal and [[Wikipedia talk:Proposed deletion#Re-{{prod}}ed pages?]] tackle these questions. Consensus seems to be that removing the deletion notice is obviously an objection to the deletion. Blanking the page is almost certainly an endorsement to the deletion, which might even make it speediable as author request in some cases.

The annoying thing is that the counter resets when the tag is removed and restored, so if you get the feeling a person might blank it again, you might send it to AfD just to keep the timer from resetting over and over. NickelShoe 22:26, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Skincage

Skincage is notable in the underground, after all if you can list black metal bands and reggae bands I've never heard of, I can list Skincage. He has a big following, you may not listen to Coil/glitchtronic/death industrial, but in the underground music scene..People do like him. The latter of these urgently requires removal - it was uploaded to Wikipedia by mistake, and there seems to be no easy way of correcting these things. It has started something of a war, and urgently needs resolving. Whilst I can be more careful in the future, it's really bad that you can easily make things, but can't correct errors like this, say within the first week of uploading them. I appreciate that Wikipedia relys on content being uploaded and added, but by not being at all forgiving it is really off-putting when a mistake has been made.

As for the Bowzo article, I was merely trying to describe this thing, and on reflection agree that it is not the ideal location for it. Although I could change the page title, I regret that my use of English is not interpreted as intended outside England. A war? Not sure what you mean. I don't see any messages about it on your talk page, and no relevant history to the image itself. How has it been off-putting? We try not to rush deletions, especially of images, unless we're sure that there's no good reason to have them. What do you mean about the interpretation of English? This an international encyclopedia, which included plenty of speakers of British English.

I've never been involved in image deletion, but if you add {{db-author}} to it, that will at least put it on a list that will get the attention of someone who knows the right way to do it. Hope that helps.

Also, when you post to talk pages, it is helpful if you sign your comments with ~~~~, which is converted to your user name and the current time/date when you save the page. That way people can find who's talking to them easily. NickelShoe (Talk) 16:12, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

I am afraid this image is unlikely to be a good replacement of Image:Becherovka bottle.jpg: the latter image is licensed under the GFDL license; the former one has come from the official website of Becherovka and I was unable to verify that they allow it to be used for any (this includes commercial) purpose. A fair use claim might be reasonable, but it is Wikipedia's policy that a free image should be used if one is available. (I have nominated your image for deletion. Sorry for any inconvenience.)

Thanks once again for your comments.I appreciate your assistance.I have just discovered that an article on Diggers already exists in the Wiki.The movement was started by Winstanley the person I have named.It was about disavowal of private ownership.I also note an article on Fourier who was a French socialist before Marx.On googling I found several references to Marcus Thrane and discovered that an article already exists in the Swedish Wiki.Blahn can also be found on googling.Thrane also finds reference in HISTORY OF SCANDINAVIA.I do not know how to place all these references and would welcome your guidance.Also the encylopedia mentions that tenetes similar to Marxist philosophy existed before Marx but never became popular.(Vr 06:16, 22 March 2006 (UTC))

I am not Lord Lyryx M.L., but I have heard of his material and have followed his group in the past for a long time. I have no affiliation with the original Street Kids group in Dallas... but I know the local radio station in Dallas, Texas: "K104.5" can confirm that his original group is did in fact, exist. Lyryx M.L. is said to be on orders to Iraq in the summer, but he will later explain his future career to local rap radio stations in Dallas, Texas before May 10th. He'll also explain about his thoughts and feelings about heading toward a Major Record Label. You asked for "Has been the subject of a half hour or hour broadcast on a national radio network." K104 should be able to confirm that he was indeed a subject and guest on K104 for more than 30 minutes. He was also on local news channels in Dallas such as WFAA TV (Channel 8 in Dallas) (should be archived). But he was MOST DEFINATELY on the "Mr. Peppermint Show" and "Peppermint Place" as a guest and performer. (Source is WFAA TV Dallas, Texas.). Why am i up for deletion

Ok, I understand that my Runescape Price Guide is not universally accepted, and i do wish to make it better, but simply saying "not needed it runescape series, to poorly written to be saved" is really helpful in no size, shape, or form. I would like to know whether you are aware of an English equivalent for the word 'consumarchy' (a word increasingly used by scholars - see definition below). It would be interesting to know WHO decides whether a useful neologism is rejected or not on this site. Is this an Orwellian question? Things are done by consensus. You saw the AfD discussion, no doubt. People show up and talk about what they think. The "who" is Wikipedia editors like you and me. The question is not how useful it is, but rather how used it is, and how encyclopedically it can be treated. Wikipedia is not a publisher of new words, even if they are quite useful. That's just not our goal, because we take seriously that information should be verifiable. If the usage of this word is published in third-party sources, that's pretty much all that was needed to save the article, assuming you could write it in a way that didn't make it a mere dictionary definition.

I've even left the lowercase on purpose, but people seem to get too disturbed with that. I did it because the website also did it. Someone came in and chaged two paragraphs to first uppercase letter, but forgot oddly about two others.

I was expecting more people would support the article, I knew as it is it would sooner or later be voted for deletion, but I wasn't sure myself if it was an article worthy of wikipedia or not. I think the subject is way more worthy than lots of subjects I've seem, it's an interesting science study and it has a growth potential. But I couldn't imagine or have the time to build the article better so far.

Maybe that would be much better under wikinews, I've just never been there or used it. Although I don't believe in the project itself I've enjoyed to see the attempt, and it's much better than any other previous number system attempt i've seem, and I've done some deeper studies on numeral history myself.

Maybe it could be just a citation on octal article...

No problem. Go back to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Technosigner and strike out your "keep" vote. Like this: <s>Keep</s>, which yields Keep. (Sorry if you already knew how to do that, just making sure.) Then make a new comment at the bottom saying that you are the author and you change your vote to delete, based on Wikipedia guidelines you didn't know about before. Since you're the one who wrote the article, they may close the discussion early. Normally it sits on AfD for five days or more to get a good chance to let people express their opinions, but there are a few cases where articles can be deleted faster. Make sense? Brand Mercatus

In regards to Brand Mercatus, I have now added references and a bit more copy. This company did catch the headlines in its Malaysian operations when it was linked as the PR agency of KFC. It was a bit controversial because it issued a press release announcing the suspension of the then MD of KFC, who questioned the appointment of the agency without his approval. The article talk page is all. There's no centralized deletion discussion for prod, because it's only for uncontroversial deletions. By adding four tildes (~) at the end of your comments, your user name or IP address and the date will be automatically added. Makes it tons easier to find you to respond to your concerns.

So, first, I did not delete the article. I simply saw that it was up for deletion and told you about it. Sorry if you didn't get the message until after the article was already deleted. If you click the redlink and view the deletion log [2], you'll see that User:The Epopt is the admin who deleted the article after it had sat for five days without any objections to the deletion.

Second, although I did not go into detail about why another editor had proposed the article for deletion, I did provide you with the link to Wikipedia's notability guidelines for articles about web-related materials. Did you read the link? I don't remember the article (since I wasn't actually the one who proposed it for deletion), but if it is a website that doesn't meet those guidelines, then it was not appropriate for Wikipedia.

If you've read those guidelines and believe the subject is notable according to Wikipedia guidelines, you can simply ask to have the article restored. Because this particular deletion process (WP:PROD) relies on the lack of objection to the deletion rather than a discussion, any article deleted thru this process can be restored on request. Simply ask User:The Epopt to do this for you. (Refer this user to WP:PROD#Closing_guideline_for_administrators if they think they shouldn't restore the article. It's a new process, so some people aren't used to all the rules.)

But please remember that the article has to meet certain criteria to be kept. If it does not show that the subject is notable, someone will probably nominate it for deletion thru a discussion-oriented process (WP:AFD) to make a more or less final decision. Re Betty Friedan

Induced vs. legal abortion.

You're absurd comments made absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Needless to say, they don't fly. Friedan supported legal abortion, not "induced" abortion, whatever that is, as that could refer to having to terminate a pregnancy for health reasons, etc. which anyone with a brain would support (which excludes the Nathansons). Dr.John Saw

The reason I restored the prod is that the page is a duplicate of Dr. John Saw, which remains on prod. The rules are the rules, and I'm not trying to violate anything, but it seemed fairly pointless to me to prod one and AFD the other. Hello NickleShoe, it has come to my attention that you posted a complaint on the topic of Fernetear. I myself love Wikipedia and spend hours learning stuff. Recently I have posted the post of Fernetear and saw that the validity of the word's existence. The problem is that this word is known solely in the town of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, hence, not very many people know about it. Thanks for the message. I actually made no complaint. You'll see from the page history [3] that User:LaurenMcMillan proposed the article for deletion. Seeing that, I thought you'd want to know, and thought it would be helpful if you knew where to read the relevant Wikipedia policy.

Although I'm sure you meant well in posting the article, even if the word is real, it still has to be notable and verifiable. Make sure you've read the important policy at WP:V. As an encyclopedia, we have to take this seriously, so that even if you can vouch for it, we need some published sources somewhere. Wikipedia isn't the place to spread the word about something, but instead to record it afterward.

I created this page a few minutes ago and now there is this tag on it. I actually created it earlier today but it was deleted. I haven't had much time to enlarge but I can assure you this is a valid article. This author wrote The Object of my Affection which was turned into a movie starring Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd. He's published five novels, the latest just this month and it has been given five star reviews from people and entertainment weekly magazines. Check out WP:CSD for the criteria that allow immediate deletion of an article. Click the redlink, then click "deletion log" [4]. The page was twice deleted as a copyright violation--make sure to write articles in your own words. The last time you created it it was deleted because you weren't trying to write an article but trying to figure out about the article getting deleted (see WP:CSD). Does that help? Well since I got permission to use the text, I really think people should ask before instantly deleting things. Yes thanks it helps, but ask before deletion would be far better way to run the system.

Beans, Beans

Thank you for your suggestion, but I'm wondering, what has drawn you to conclude that "Beans, Beans, the Magical Fruit" is more common than "Beans, Beans, the Musical Fruit"? The entry has only one verifiable source, the "Whacking Day" Simpsons episode. In that episode, "Musical" is used. Not trying to be snarky, but do you have other sources where "Magical" is used instead? I just haven't seen any evidence that "Magical" is the more common usage.

WIki entries ignored by Google

It doesn't. Run Google searches on encyclopedia subjects like "Civil War" [5] or "Pythagorean theorem" [6], and you'll see we're on the first page.

I'm no expert, but new pages from any site aren't going to show up on a Google search instantaneously, because Google has to actually find the page and collect data on it first. And there's some speculation that Google makes a page be a little older before bringing it up on a search [7]. NickelShoe (Talk) 02:05, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Hi NickelShoe,

You tagged the article with propose deletion - which I 100% agree with. The author removed the prod tag without either improving the article or mentioning the removal of prod in the edit history. I've restored the ProD tag. Since they are a new editor I left a friendly, but firm, note on their talk page. We'll see what happens, but might bear watching. I note that their only other article is on Copyvio.
