Fernetear edit

Fernetear has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this term might not be significant enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:Avoid neologisms for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so. Remember, however, that Wikipedia is not a dictionary, so articles about the meanings and usages of terms are not appropriate either.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Hello NickleShoe, it has come to my attention that you posted a complaint on the topic of Fernetear. I myself love Wikipedia and spend hours learning stuff. Recently I have posted the post of Fernetear and saw that the validity of the word's existence. The problem is that this word is known solely in the town of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, hence, not very many people know about it. It is, however, a real word in this part of the world and would like to teach it to the millions of Wiki users out there, thanx —This unsigned comment was added by Klaw (talkcontribs) .
Hi! It helps if you sign your posts with ~~~~, so I can find who I'm talking to.
Thanks for the message. I actually made no complaint. You'll see from the page history [1] that User:LaurenMcMillan proposed the article for deletion. Seeing that, I thought you'd want to know, and thought it would be helpful if you knew where to read the relevant Wikipedia policy.
Although I'm sure you meant well in posting the article, even if the word is real, it still has to be notable and verifiable. Make sure you've read the important policy at WP:V. As an encyclopedia, we have to take this seriously, so that even if you can vouch for it, we need some published sources somewhere. Wikipedia isn't the place to spread the word about something, but instead to record it afterward.
Did that help? NickelShoe (Talk) 20:30, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

unblock edit

I believe I have been unfairly blocked. I don't know how to contact my blocker, Jcw69.

Your user account is not blocked. Paste the whole block message and maybe we can help. Sasquatch t|c 05:34, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

unblock edit

My IP address appears to be blocked, when I try to edit a page a new "you are blocked" page appears and the message that follows appears. This is not an open proxy or a zombie computer and I don't know why I have been blocked.:

Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Jcw69 for the following reason (see our blocking policy):

This IP address has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy or zombie computer. To prevent abuse, editing from these proxies is currently prohibited. For more information about open proxies and what you can do, please see the WikiProject on open proxies. See also: block list | block log | related IP addresses

Your IP address is 200.58.160.149.

It appears you are using an open proxy or a former open proxy. We don't allow that on Wikipedia as it is too easy to abuse. I will ask them to run another open proxy check but if you are using an open proxy, you will be unable to edit. Sasquatch t|c 20:32, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
