Hello @nickRich21. noticed you have updated the @nd Battalion 9th Marines page. Major General Dennis J Murphy was XO of 2/9 on the walk up to Con Thien July 29 1967. He was a Major at the time and some have come forward suggesting he should receive the CMH for his actions that night <he wants nothing to do with it>. He was in country less than 5 days and assembled the counter attack. Bing West wrote a piece for Rand Corporation detailing the story of that night and remembers him well. I noticed the notable members does not include him. He later commanded 2/9 in Okinawa and led the first Desert 1 deployment to Okinawa in 1973. 2/9 is his home. I'm requesting that someone exdit the page <I am incapable and being his son, don't want to grandstand; but a lot of 2/9 Marines will recognize and appreciate the noting of his membership there. He retired in 1987 as Commanding General 2nd Marine Division and held that command longer than any other previous CG save LTG Ormond R Simpson — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.61.23.254 (talk) 23:56, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Portal:World War II into List of Navy Cross recipients for World War II. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 14:37, 9 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
