Claimed UW titles

Hi Myasuda, keep me informed. If the edit war continues, I would consider asking for temporary semi-protect status for the UW football article as the anonymous editor seems unwilling to engage in discussion or abide by what was seemingly a consensus decision. I have no real dog in this fight, but I think it is pretty clear that although UW lists '84 and '90 as having been selected in its media guide out of a matter of comprehensiveness, as an institution, it does not claim them per the discussion on the National Championship article talk page. I am using a Mac and I have only just discovered its operating system is UNIX based. I did some programming in PERL and AWK 10 years ago or more. Dr James Naismith

I do not have the skills to edit Wikipedia articles but have noticed that you have posted on the bio of Dr. James Naismith. On his bio it has his name listed as Dr. James A. Naismith. He never did have the middle initial “A” as attested to by several of the Naismith clan – including one of his daughter's now passed away - who this writer had talked to in the past. Theory is that it was a clerical error in a publication and the good Dr. Naismith never went about in correcting it. I have had the factual error corrected in countless publications and other encyclopedias over the last 25 years. The Basketball Hall of Fame also agrees with the historical importance and that he did not or ever adopt the middle initial A. at anytime. Britannica said they will be changing the info also. Problem is when I change it on Wikipedia it keeps going back to original mistake.

I noticed you deleted the post to the NBA post-season records for comebacks. Here is a link to where the information came from: http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/category/_/name/espn-stats-info, on the page you will see a listing of the previous records. Also on the NBA recap of the celtics/lakers game in 2008 it states the Celtics set the record.

The Elias Sports Bureau is the official statistician for the NBA. Elias is the primary source of statistics for ESPN such as the statistics they list on this link. Alley-oop (basketball)

I saw you rearranged Alley-oop (basketball) due to the 5x120px-wide multiple image template. I have rearranged the width so that it is 3x160px-wide. If you want you can shrink the 3 wide down to 3x125. However, I think it is undeniable that the multiple images are more instructive than any single image could be. actors by ethnicity

Thanks for your cogent comment on the size of the category of japanese american actors, which is one of the arguments i used for creating the category for american actors of chinese descent (to break up that huge category of american actors a bit). I fear that our logic will be overwhelmed by numbers, as there seems to be a committed effort to remove all trivial intersections, without considering what makes an intersection trivial or not. if its 2 things, its suspect, and if its 3, its bad. The existence of Veblen's book seems to me to call for a page on this work, which was extremely influential with English-language topologists, with the title Analysis Situs (book). However this is blocked so long as a redirect to Poincaré's papers is in force. Hi saw your additions, added a couple I knew about (Lava Bed Nat'l monument and a provincial park around the Tseax River in BC; Craters of the Moon National Monument strikes me as another. NBA season assists leaders

I'm glad that you enjoy the improvements to the NBA season assists leaders list. However, by the same token, Elgin Baylor's 1961-62 season does not qualify for the List of National Basketball Association top individual scoring season averages because the NBA requires a minimum of 70 games played. You can see this in the record book section of any edition of the Official NBA Guide. The top five are as follows:

• Highest average, points per game, season [minimum: 70 games]
  • 50.4 - Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia, 1961-62 (4,029/80)
  • 44.8 - Wilt Chamberlain, San Francisco, 1962-63 (3,586/80)
  • 38.4 - Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia, 1960-61 (3,033/79)
  • 37.6 - Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia, 1959-60 (2,707/72)
  • 37.1 - Michael Jordan, Chicago, 1986-87 (3,041/82)

Al Cervi and the 1947 NBL MVP

I see that on 12 May 2007 you edited Al Cervi's page to include that he was the MVP of the NBL for the 1947 season, while every other source I can find gives Bob Davies as the award winner that year. I recognize this was long ago, but I believe you were using the Hall of Fame website, which according to the wayback machine did list Al Cervi as the 1947 MVP but also Bob Davies:

Field Goal (Basketball) - personal experience

I am a new Wikipedia contributor, and I would like to receive guidance on a change I made to the Field Goal (Basketball) page. For a long time I've been confused about the term Field Goal in basketball, and I suspect that it is commonly confused with a 3-pt shot, due to the meaning of a field goal in American football. After adding this comment to the Field Goal (Basketball) page, it was removed by Myasuda. I see that Myasuda is a very experienced Wikipedia contributor, and I very much respect his/her knowledge here.
