License tagging for Image:Tlk6na.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tlk6na.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 02:06, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Kopa01.jpg edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Kopa01.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Image copyright problem with Image:Kopa23.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Kopa23.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Starionwolf 04:16, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

June 4 2006 edit

Hi, I see that you are new and that have uploaded some images. Please provide a fair use rational. Also, try not to upload two screenshots of the same thing. After you add the images, consider using thumb instead of frame. For example: image.jpg|thumb|right. Images in "frame" are too big for the main article and ruin the layout. June 9 edit

This is your last warning. The next time you blank or remove material from a page, as you did to The Lion King, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on a page. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from further editing.

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article The Lion King Plot Synopsis, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:The Lion King Plot Synopsis. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

Please stop creating new articles and adding Kopa to the Lion King until we have resolved this issue. If you like Kopa so much, perhaps you can create an article on your User Page instead of the main Wikipedia space. If you would like more information, conact me or reply to this message. Thank you and have a nice day. Cheers

Kopa edit

It's great to see such enthusiasm for a The Lion King character, but this is getting a bit silly now.

Please stop adding Kopa to the The Lion King article. He is not regarded as movie canon, and since the article is about the movie, he does not warrant mentioning. It could be argued that he is, in fact, movie canon and that makers of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride had not heard of the The Lion King: Six New Adventures, thereby making a big goof (although I had heard tell that the cub was originally male to match the ending of TLK, but changed to make the story different). But since we're following official Disney canon and not our own opinions on the matter, the cub at the end of The Lion King is Kiara, despite the obvious differences. The creators of The Lion King had no idea that there would be a sequel and neither did the writers of TLK6NA, so at the time the cub's indentity was up for interpretation. But since Simba's Pride has been released we now know who Simba and Nala's cub is. It is probable that they had Kopa and then Kiara, but since that's not official canon and only speculation, we have to go with the cub being Kiara.

In conclusion (since I do have a tendency to ramble), if you continue to add Kopa it will be considered a type of vandalism. You have already been warned about this and there is no reason to continue adding Kopa to the article. Thanks for reading. Blue Phoenix 22:43, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Michaeljordan.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Michaeljordan.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Re: Image:I-95tornado.jpg edit

This image is likely not fair use, thus it is a candidate for speedy deletion. Also, it appears that you were mistaken in the context of this photo: it is not a tornado, but a column of smoke from an 11-alarm fire that day, thus I have reverted your edits to Tornado. -Runningonbrains 02:57, 29 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for Image:-Duckdodgers.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:-Duckdodgers.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Unspecified source for Image:Brooklynets.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Brooklynets.jpg.

Fair use rationale for Image:Wishingyouwell.jpg edit

  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Wishingyouwell.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ResurgamII 22:41, 7 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Killerbuzzard.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Killerbuzzard.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image:Governorpataki.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Governorpataki.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that recently you carried out a copyfrom FSN (network) and paste. Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Thanks for uploading Image:Arnoldheyarnond.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Fair use rationale for Image:Bugsbunnycameoduckamuck.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bugsbunnycameoduckamuck.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 22:33, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Evildanny.jpg edit

I have tagged Image:Evildanny.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Unspecified source for Image:HBH.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:HBH.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:04, 28 June 2007 (UTC). Fair use rationale for Image:Scarthelionking2.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Scarthelionking2.jpg. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Egghead (Looney Tunes) edit

I don't think merging it with Elmer Fudd 2 minutes after putting on a {{merge}} tag is the proper way of doing business.-- that does not mean I oppose the merge; but you should make a discussion (not a poll) first. --Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 17:59, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Warner Bros. Cartoons and Warner Bros. Animation. edit

I unmerged those articles for a reason - they're essentially about two separate studios and read better as separate articles, as do Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network Studios. --FuriousFreddy 01:41, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Montreal Expos edit

Hi. It's not clear why you added a merge tag to this article. A merger with Washington Nationals has been raised many many times, and in the most recent formal merger discussion, not one person argued in favour of the merge proposal. You should really check the article talk page before proposing a merger. Skeezix1000 16:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Phantom Planet (Danny Phantom episode) edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Phantom Planet (Danny Phantom episode), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.tv.com/danny-phantom/phantom-planet/episode/572282/recap.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 18:46, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mel Blanc/Happy Rabbit Discussion edit

Mrsanitizer, any number of months ago you created the article called "Happy Rabbit", which, according to Mel Blanc, was Bugs Bunny's prototype. More recently, two fellow editors have reverted your article and posted relevant information on the Bugs Bunny page, there reasons being that no one outside Mel Blanc used a name for this so-called "prototype" character. An investigation is currently underway at my discussion forum. Please contribute your arguments in order to help resolve the debate. — Cinemaniac 02:38, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Dayforeeoyore.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dayforeeoyore.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --21:12, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of The Lion King: Six New Adventures edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is The Lion King: Six New Adventures. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Lion King: Six New Adventures. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:24, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Dafffyduck.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dafffyduck.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Non-free rationale for File:Rockos.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Rockos.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Orphaned non-free media (File:Marvinthemartain.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Marvinthemartain.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:06, 6 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
