ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Mr. Smart LION. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Andaz Apna Apna 2

Hello Mr. Smart LION,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Andaz Apna Apna 2 for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. CaroleHenson (talk) 10:48, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Andaz Apna Apna 2

The article Andaz Apna Apna 2 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The page is about a film, but there is only cast info and an infobox. There are no citations or information that would lead one to belief it is notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ways to improve Sarkar 3

Hi, I'm Devopam. Mr. Smart LION, thanks for creating Sarkar 3!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add more content without infringing privacy and copyright. Will be good idea to add a 'See Also' section with other two movies and pertinent articles to make it a relevant trilogy movie article.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Devopam (talk) 18:18, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Burying negative reviews?

Hi there, re: this, I don't get why you pushed the 3.5 star TOI review underneath the 4 star review. This tends to look like we're weighting the good reviews at the top of the section. There's nothing at MOS:FILM to encourage that and it may present a distorted impression of how the film actually performed among reviewers. A week ago there was a 1.5/5 review at the top and it steadily got pushed to the bottom. Maybe if editors were focusing on addressing specific aspects of the film, cinematography, direction, writing, acting, and presenting reviews and quotations that were relevant to those topics, then there wouldn't be such a hunger to focus on stars and and DVD case blurbs. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:20, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Film

Hi there, re: this, the WikiProject Film community (as well as WikiProject Video Games, since we're talking about it) widely shuns the use of "mixed to ____" or in this case "positive to mixed" phrasing. "Mixed" already means "positive and negative". "Positive to mixed" would mean "positive to positive and negative" which is completely meaningless. Further, the source you used indicates clearly at the top of the article that they thought the film received overwhelming response from critics. So how you construed that as somewhere between lukewarm response and positive is extraordinarily confusing. If anything it would support a "critical response was generally positive" summary (but noooo, not "overwhelming" because that would not be neutral language.) Finally, your inclusion of Rotten Tomatoes audience ratings goes directly against MOS:FILM, which you should be familiar with by now, particularly if you're involving yourself in GA drives. From the Manual of Style: "Do not include user ratings submitted to websites such as the Internet Movie Database or Rotten Tomatoes, as they are vulnerable to vote stacking and demographic skew." Please familiarize yourself with the Manual of Style for Film. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:43, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Teasers are not noteworthy. WP:TEASER

Re: these additions, per WP:TRAILER, teasers and trailers are not inherently noteworthy. You should familiarize yourself with MOS:FILM if you intend to edit film articles, since they represent community consensus. Pretty sure I've brought that up before. Oh yeah, here in the comments I left that went totally unanswered. The content also has nothing to do with release, and is contradictory, since you're saying Shinde decided not to use teasers, but used teasers. Please seek consensus for inclusion on the talk page. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:17, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: I had read those comments which you had brought up before here including this one. I had added content about trailers by taking an example of Waiting (2015 film) which is a GA. Mr. Smart ℒION☎️06:29, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
There's no assumption that whomever passed that article to GA is an expert in the film MOS or other local consensuses. For instance, Waiting still uses INRConvert in the infobox. What is important is that people who are writing film articles and trying to get them passed, are experts in the film MOS and are editing accordingly. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:50, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for taking the Dear Zindagi issues to WT:FILM. They're a good group of people who are happy to help, and I hope you take advantage of their availability more often. One thing that is problematic in my perspective, is that Indian cinema article editors tend to think of themselves as existing in a world unto themselves. Not true, all the Indian film articles are part of WikiProject Film, so it's good to get familiar with these people and what community standards are. I appreciate that you took a chance to branch out. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:48, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

The article Dragon (2017 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Speedy deletion nomination of Ekroop Bedi

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ekroop Bedi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Citations in lead

Hi there, re: this, there is no prohibition on citations in the lead. See MOS:LEADCITE. The suggestion that GAs don't have references in the lead is totally unfounded,[1][2] and the knee-jerk removal of references is short-sighted, as obvious references are very helpful when trying to spot vandalism. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:30, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

First of all, those articles which you have mentioned here are neither GAs nor are related to any film. Suggestion that GA film articles don't have references in the lead are mostly founded. Even if it does not have references in the lead, what wrong has happened. The same information has been placed below in the article with reliable sources. And people cannot doubt that the information in the lead without references is fake, because they know that it is having GA icon and that it can't have any fake information. I hope I made myself clear. Mr. Smart LION 03:00, 27 September 2017 (UTC)
