Disambiguation link notification for March 15 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sitting on the fence, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hesitation (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Drive by tagging edit

Hello, in the future, please avoid tagging article without explanation. The procedure is to first open a discussion on the talk page of the article then talk, and talk and talk some more. Only as a last resort, you may add a tag. See WP:TAGGING for the specifics. if you have any question, please let me know.--McSly (talk) 04:17, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hey McSly this is kind of pretention - there is a discussion going on - the neutrality of the article IS disputed. And you know it. --George1935 (talk) 04:30, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edit to Fannie Lou Hamer edit

Hi! I noticed you recently made an edit to this article. I reverted your edit because I thought the previous version better described her role as a voting rights activist and civil rights leader. If you think I made a mistake, please discuss it on the article talk page. - Neonorange (talk) 05:00, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent reverts edit

Although the recent additions to American Horror Story were poorly formatted, your reverts of them were in poor judgement. They were not vandalism. I have reworded and properly sourced them. Please be careful in the future, even going so far as checking the additions. Thank you. — Wyliepedia 18:09, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Fresh start edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Fresh start requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Fiddle Faddle 18:43, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

March 2014 edit

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Fresh start. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. Fiddle Faddle 18:57, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Fresh start edit

The article Fresh start has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A potentially pleasant embryo essay or dictionary definition, but there is nothing notable about it. However pleasant it may be it is not material for an encyclopaedia.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/''Rustlers'' (film) edit

A tag has been placed on Template:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/''Rustlers'' (film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is an unused duplicate of another template, or a hard-coded instance of another template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is not actually the same as the other template noted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page explaining how this one is different so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page's talk page, where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Fiddle Faddle 00:04, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

The value of making an edit, then waiting before clicking on save edit

Hi! I noticed that some of your edits are being met with skepticism. I too am a new editor. One of the things I've found valuable in learning to edit Wikipedia is pausing before clicking on save. Sometimes I just leave the edit page up, and move on to another activity. Sometimes when I come back, my computer has suffered a glitch, and my edit has disappeared. That can be a good thing. I can then be free to make a fresh start, or have valuable second thoughts. Editing Wikipedia is not a race. Hang back in the pack and wait to see what other editors do. That could be the path to making valuable contributions to Wikipedia without causing more work for other editors. - Neonorange (talk) 01:22, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Which one did you see...?Mr. Guye (talk) 01:23, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Well, more than one. I have a short watch list of articles that shows all changes to these articles. I can then:
  • see the kind of changes other editors make
  • revert an edit that seems to be a step backwards in clarity or precision, or unconstructive, or deliberate vandalism
  • sometimes a change spurs me to make follow-up edits
  • keep an eye on a few articles on which I plan to make major improvements (real soon now).
That's how I happened to see your edit to Fannie Lou Hamer.
When an edit interests me, I can check on other contributions the editor has made, and learn. I spend much more time learning how Wikipedia works than I do on making an edit. Consequently, I average only a few edits a day. I may get more productive - or not.
The short answer to your question includes the new articles you've started on short phrases; the ones that have been nominated for speedy deletion. I'd suggest you think about why there may not already have been an article on Fresh start, or Multi-syllabic. - Neonorange (talk) 01:56, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
  1. I use the Watchlist frequently as well.
  2. I learned a lot about how Wikipedia works long before this.
  3. I did not create, nor did I ask to keep the Multi-syllabic page. Notice that I never said anything in the debate.
  4. The Recent Changes link at the left side of your Wikipedia page under "Interaction" works well for the same "checking on other editors" functions that you use the watchlist. Mr. Guye (talk) 02:15, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

inre Rustlers (film) edit

I have declined your proposed deletion. We do not use both a proposed deletion AND an AFD for a film topic. And please note under WP:DEL#REASON, simply being stubby is not a deletion rationale. Schmidt, Michael Q. 02:31, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Illegitimacy (law) listed at Redirects for discussion edit

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Illegitimacy (law). Since you had some involvement with the Illegitimacy (law) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 17:14, 25 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

WP:OVERLINK edit

It not only includes WP:SEAOFBLUE problems, but also linking of well-known words where the Wikipedia article is misleading or adds nothing. United States is an example. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 06:04, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
