Hello, Mitchellfrieder, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Mitchellfrieder. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 21:37, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mitchell, I see you have already declared your COI. Apologies, I missed that but above gives you some additional guidance. S0091 (talk) 21:39, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you S001 so much for your response!

I have read the guidelines for COI and am trying to be extraordinarily careful to follow them. I am trying to write an article, but am very new to the process. I posted it my sandbox because I knew that I still have a lot to learn about article creation.

I am citing statements with articles about the subject from Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times, ARTnews, Christie's auction house and other US national and international publications with editorial boards. I believe these meet the requirements for citations. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hitro Milanese originally responded to my initial post, stating that I needed to add context. I did a fairly large revision and reposted it. Hitro again just stated that I needed to add context. I have read some of the help articles regarding context but still don't understand where I am falling short. Might you please give me some guidance?

Regards,

Mitchell Mitchellfrieder (talk) 22:06, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Look now. You have some cleanup to do with the citations but now what you have done is viewable. The issue with your sandbox was a syntax issue where you had accidentally added your content within an hidden comment so everything was hidden. Hopefully my update fixes it going forward, but if you run into something else please do ask at the Teahouse. Note, the only reason I saw your message is because it popped on my watchlist (when you edit a page it is automatically adds it) and I just happened to notice. Otherwise, you have to ping someone, like {{ping|S0091}}. S0091 (talk) 22:17, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Draft Article: Andrew Frieder

edit

@S0091:

I'm sorry, one more question.....

What is the next step for getting this to be a real article, rather than something parked in my sandbox? I have just resubmitted it, but I'm not certain that was what I should have done. Also, it seems like the draft title is Mitchell Frieder/sandbox, but I'd like it to be Mitchell Frieder / Andrew Frieder. How would I effect that change, please?

Thank you again! You've been sooo helpful here. It is a great relief!

Regards,

Mitchell

I have moved it Draft:Andrew Frieder. Your citations are still not correct. If you do it right, they automatically populate in the Reference section, although that will likely not prevent acceptance. The next step is a reviewer reviewing it to determine if it meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines, in the case WP:NARTIST (read that). If it does, it will be accepted and moved to 'main space" (article). If not, it will be declined with reasoning as to why, which then you will have the opportunity to make the appropriate updates and resubmit it. If rejected, that means the reviewer believes notability will not be met in the foreseeable future, if ever. Oh and I forgot to tell the trick with a ping is you also have sign the message using the four tildes like ~~~~. I didn't get the ping but saw the message pop up. Draft Article: Andrew Frieder

@S0091:

Thanks again!

Mitchell Mitchellfrieder (talk) 23:30, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Good job with the ping! I got it this time and was in the middle of another note you to but lost it because of a copy mistake so here is a second try. First, now that paid a bit more attention to the draft, condolences for your loss. As for the draft, much of it is still unsourced (no citations). If I did not state this before, you may find this guide helpful for adding citations. Also, what you know about him is unusable (see WP:OR). What is needed are independent reliable sources and simply summarize what they have written about him. Limited self-published sources are allowed but see WP:SELFPUB for guidance. Please also be mindful of WP:NOTMEMORIAL. (I said this better the first time but.....). Anyway, good luck. S0091 (talk) 23:52, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
