Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. March 2023 edit

Hello Almostreadyrecords. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Almostreadyrecords. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Almostreadyrecords|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Uhai (talk) 05:20, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I am not being compensated in any form for edits. I'm simply trying to establish a wikipedia page for the record label I work for. Almostreadyrecords (talk) 17:43, 28 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you're editing Draft:Almost Ready Records as part of your job, then you are engaged in paid editing, even if you're not being paid expressly to write this article.. Please make the necessary disclosure now. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 04:57, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I am not conducting any editing while on the clock or at my job. The creation of this page was not spurred or directed by my employer in any capacity. I am receiving no direct or indirect compensation for editing or the completion of a wikipedia page. I am strictly doing this in my free time because I noticed some band pages mentioned the label and thought I would create a page personally. That is all. Thank you. MitchellatAlmostReady (talk) 15:20, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand why you're so reluctant to do this.
At the very least you have a conflict of interest (COI) which you must disclose. I will post a separate message below with instructions. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:33, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Uh there is no reluctance. I fully comprehend okay. As you can see the information on the page is quite objective. I'm simply stating the reasons here and trying to understand how to proceed. Thank you. I will await the instructions. 71.125.212.168 (talk) 16:02, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, MitchellatAlmostReady. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:33, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

May 2023 edit

Hello, MitchellatAlmostReady, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Toastofbrooklyn (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 19:30, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
