2013 British Grand Prix edit

Hi Minimac,

I noticed that you made these changes to the 2013 British Grand Prix page on the gronds that the reference given was a self-published source. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the sport of Formula 1, but the site given - F1 Fanatic - is actually considered to be highly reliable. Although everything is published by one man, he is a professional journalist and the site has an excellent reputation - so much so that the site published the official launch photographs of this year's Ferrari more than two hours before any other news outlet did. The only differences between F1 Fanatic and the likes of Autosport is that it is run by one man, and readers have the ability to discuss things in articles. Although a blog, it is perhaps the largest dedicated source for Formula 1 on he internet.

A greater diversity of sources is always appreciated, but I thought you might like to know that although it is a blog, F1 Fanatic is still considered to be highly reliable. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 07:30, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Whoniverse article edits edit

Please read the discussion page of the Whoniverse article. Please read how I have tried and tried to discuss things rationally, and been met with nothing but "sarcasm". Eventually, being told to "be bold", I started making productive edits, removing rambling sections of totally unsourced material, and actually adding RS. It is User:G S Palmer who keeps reinstating unsourced POV material, as well as deliberately ignoring any sort of productive discussion. 41.132.179.212 (talk) 19:15, 15 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I hope you read this. If you read the Whoniverse discussion, as well as read through the edit history, you will see that User:GraemeLeggett and I were collaborating, removing unsourced material, rewording POV and weaselly sentences, and adding WP:RS. We went through sections, almost word-by-word, trying to improve the unsourced mess, and make it Wikipedia-worthy. It is User:G S Palmer who appeared after the discussion, and began to simply reinstate unsourced material, remove newly added WP:RS, and take a hostile turn. I notice you warned me for edit warring, but not him/her. I would be very keen to know why this is? 41.132.179.212 (talk) 19:28, 15 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Global account edit

Hi Minimac! As a Steward I'm involved in the upcoming unification of all accounts organized by the Wikimedia Foundation (see m:Single User Login finalisation announcement). By looking at your account, I realized that you don't have a global account yet. In order to secure your name, I recommend you to create such account on your own by submitting your password on Special:MergeAccount and unifying your local accounts. If you have any problems with doing that or further questions, please don't hesitate to ping me with {{ping|DerHexer}}. Cheers, β€”DerHexerΒ (Talk) 22:58, 2 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Trying to create a page on an artist edit

Hello Minimac

Thank you for helping with the National Arts Festival page that I tried to edit. I am brand new to WikipediaΒ : ). I am really trying to create a page for one of the Artists (who gets mentioned on that National Arts FEst page) but whenever I click "submit your draft for review" nothing seems to happen. Well I get a captcha to fill in, but then no 'submit' button after the captcha. Am I missing something?

The artist is Janni Younge - not sure how to link to my sandbox here.

Thanks again Jyprod (talk) 11:22, 30 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

If you need a link to your sandbox, then type User:Jyprod/sandbox in the search box. If you want to create a page, Wikipedia:Articles for creation is a great place to start creating articles or you can just type Janni Younge in the search box (Or click here if you want to start immediately). New deal for page patrollers edit

Hi Minimac,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

3RR warning edit

Thank you for the warning. Yes, I am aware I reached the 3 revert maximum allowed. After reaching it I stopped and attempted (constantly) to discuss the issue with the IP editor that was engaged in the edit war with me (despite his occasional insults), and it would seem the issue has been resolved now. Again, thanks for the warning! EkoGraf (talk) 20:39, 20 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

3RR warning edit

Hi Minimac,

Thanks for the warning. Strictly speaking, I have only reverted the edits done by 202.156.181.76 twice. There was a third attempt at vandalism by 111.65.32.17, which may have come from the same person.

From the very beginning, I have offered to discuss the issue in the talk page. This can be seen in my edit summary in the revision history.

I will refrain from editing the page again for now. 118.189.63.127 (talk) 21:36, 16 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages edit

You're probably not aware but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. The article about the person you added to January 28 did not have any source to back up your addition has been reverted. Please do not restore it without providing a direct reliable source. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 18:43, 7 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
