Hop (film) credits
Hi, I saw your comment on Hop (film) about credits. I originally posted the ADR voice credits in the listings as they are listed in the official production notes. They are listed in a different section from the cast, but are useful to keep around as they link to many voice actors that have pages here. The ones I'm not sure about whether they had speaking roles or not are the stunt coordinator and warm-up voice guy. AngusWOOF (talk) 05:20, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- Honestly, I'm not sure what other more experienced editors would make of it. It's a little outside of what I usually deal with around here. I just mentioned it in my edit summary so that IF it is a problem, someone can address it. I really will hop over there at some point and Pull some of the extras out of the rest of the cast list though. I'm super wiki light right now. Millahnna (talk) 09:24, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

External links
Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic links belong in the External links section, regardless of their use as references. Please do not remove them, as you did with Looper. Thanks. Film Fan (talk) 21:47, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
- I suggest you re-read the MOS:FILM section on external links. THey should be converted to references whenever possible. THanks. Millahnna (talk) 02:41, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
- "Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic can provide listings of more reviews than sampled in the article body. They can be included as external links instead of links to individual reviews." Film Fan (talk) 09:39, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah that's kind of what I'm finding out (regarding editor intentions) in a conversation over at the film manual of style. If you follow my contributions, you should be able to find it, if you'd like to contribute. Originally, I posted there looking for clarification since I'm clearly interpreting the guideline differently than other editors. But it's turning into a conversation about possibly making the guideline more clear (since I'm not the only long term film project editor who does it that way. Sorry for being snippy in my original reply; I'd just woken up and took your comment here as coming off kind of snotty. Tone in print and all of that. Millahnna (talk) 10:28, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi. I noticed that you've recently reverted some of Frammis4242 (talk · contribs)'s edits. I've started a discussion about his behavior at WP:ANI#User:Frammis4242. You are welcome to comment there if you wish. --IllaZilla (talk) 20:16, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
Hello
- Actually I just followed a problem editor out from a few film articles I watch that he hits. I used to try to keep that sort of thing cleaned up in a few telenovela articles but I gave up long ago. Everything I cleaned I had to clean every day. It just seemed like a useless endeavor. I tag them when I run into them and that's about it now. Millahnna (talk) 06:45, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
Chronic Overlinking
Hello Milahnna,
Undoing my edit on the etymology of Anarchy was unnecessary. You will have to explain to me what exactly "Chronic overlinking" is and how it appears in my "patterns". I do not often edit Wikipedia pages, so I don't know what "patterns" you're speaking of, other than the one edit I've tried to incorporate there.
I used two valid sources: one was used to imprecisely cite etymology elsewhere in the article, and the other was equally valid from a major ancient Greek database managed by Tufts university. The etymology section itself has a grand total of two citations (and two branches of etymology, go figure). It also has 3 internal wikipedia links, none of which I am responsible for, I believe.
Chronic overlinking? All I am guilty of is combating the powertrip on which some of you veteran editors find yourself when you dislike an edit. I'm appalled at how many times major editors will simply *delete* valid information, instead of changing it for the better. Are we trying to expand Wikipedia, or not? Even if I was guilty of overlinking, "chronically" (for one whole hour of my wikipedia career!), do you really think that warrants a complete abolition of my contribution?
Now, before you go and delete the information I added, which is valid and accurate, please explain to me what the problem is -- without using wiki-speak. If there is a citation problem, FIX IT, or talk to me about the problem so I can fix it, don't simply delete it. That is absurd. Like I said, I don't often edit Wikipedia pages so I'm sure there's room for mastery. Simply deleting my edits encourages no growth. I apologize that my tone has become much more hostile than intended while writing this, but I find edits like these can be incredibly frustrating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AndCovello (talk • contribs) 15:17, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
- I have no idea what you're talking about. You're going to have to link me to the edit (either your edit or my undo) because I don't see anything in your contribution history that I undid. And I don't see anything in mine linking to the phrase anarchy in an article title. So I can't look up any context to explain whatever edit it is that I did... or undid. Whatever. I know I've been tracking a persistent overlinking IP editor or two (WO:OVERLINK might help if you just aren't sure what I'm talking about by "overlinking") who mostly hits film articles I watch. Unless that is you, you'll have to give me something more specific to go on. Millahnna (talk) 23:29, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
BRD enforcer
I've drafted out the proposal at User:Betty Logan/BRD enforcer#"Request for stable state" project proposal. Hopefully I've addressed any concerns people had, and this is the version that will go before the Wikiproject proposal committee. It's been streamlined a bit to focus on operation and the name has been changed, but other than that it's doing the same job. Anyway, this is a message I'm dropping on everyone's page so they can check it out and make sure they are ok with it. Betty Logan (talk) 22:59, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
- The formal proposal is up and running at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Request for stable state. If you are still interested in supporting it you will need to add your name at the official proposal. Betty Logan (talk) 02:58, 15 October 2012 (UTC)
William Hope (actor)
Tell you what. I will vandalize everything regarding William Hope, for the rest of my life. In December, his page will not be protected anymore and guess what - I will write all those lies you know so well. And it may be all hot air, but you have to give me some serious props, they are funny as hell. So, keep protecting William Hope, I will keep messing with his head. As Jigsaw would say, Let the games begin - ahahahahaha
- Whatever gives you the giggles I guess. Millahnna (talk) 06:50, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
Hey there! Are you still planning to work on Looper (film)? Just wondering. Cliff Smith 17:53, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
- I am. My crappy job's work schedule kind of threw me off for a few days. I have to finish my rewatch and then I'll loop through the current text and the diff of that one edit Nerfer tried; he had some good ideas in there but Darkwarrior was right that some of it was overstated. And I'll have to pull up those links you provided. I'm thinking I'll probably have a test run to throw up either late tonight or sometime tomorrow (West coast U.S. here). I guess 12-24 hours or so from now? THanks for reminding me... I've lost track of intended projects before when I didn't add them to my list and got a hectic work week thrown at me out of nowhere. Millahnna (talk) 22:48, 13 October 2012 (UTC)
- Ah. Well, you're welcome, and I appreciate your initiative to work on it in the first place. Oh, I mentioned this on the article's talk page but I just want to say it again, it might be worth trying to do a separate but related section that would be a blend of plot elements and commentary on the film's storyline, something along the lines of "Film structure" at Memento (film) and "Narrative structure" at Pulp Fiction and "Cinematic technique" at Inception. Cliff Smith 01:03, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- I was thinking the same thing. I think it's Inception that has a section called Interpretation of the ending or something similar. My guess is that some reviews and those links you provided will have some of that. If the director commentary you linked to has anything definitive in it I can use to source a potentially confusing plot element, I'll drop it right in the plot. But it will probably be worth noting interpretations depending on what I dig up. Millahnna (talk) 05:10, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Looks like 213.93.236.242 is back again, trying to push-forward his (exact) inaccurate and speculative page-version in place over our larger and more-sourced version - I can tell because he managed to re-insert the same spelling mistakes. Should we do something about him, as he has been doing this for a while?-- OsirisV (talk) 12:57, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
- I reported to the anti-vandalism unit. Not sure if perhaps I should have taken it to the ANI noticeboard instead but the guy is obviously the same person and is basically being a pest. It's been a few weeks since the IP's last warning (can't recall if there was a block in there somewhere explaining absense), so they may not do anything about it. Might depend on the admin. - Hiya and cyberhugs! I've been in and out in spurts, mostly checking my own pet peeves: gunspotter, overlinker, that Thai/Malay media spaz, this one weird Wicca related sockpuppet, and my personal nemesis, the "agonist" (wiki is not your book report). I haven't had the time to dive into anything big in ages because, frankly, my job sucks away my soul. Meh, it happens. Also, in my last extended absence, half my gadgets broke or were changed and who knows what MOSes have gone differently than I last recall. So I'm slowly fixing my gadgets and trying not to step into anything major, lest I inadvertently restart some heated debate or six that I missed. Problem with column dividers on cast sections
I don't think column dividers at cast sections in film articles are really that necessary. The problem with it is that is the less important actors and characters in a movie will be on the right side, not to mention it's confusing if you try to start reading the cast section from left to right, you would see the second lead actor on the second left side instead of the first right side of the column. It might confuse readers about that. BattleshipMan (talk) 18:07, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- Set up a talk about that issue with the film project. I'm sure many readers will discuss it there. BattleshipMan (talk) 20:10, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- Heya, BattleshipMan, thanks for dropping by. I've been seeing you around the project since I've been back (I'm in and out over the years) and you do some great work.
- SO with the columns thing, I see what you're saying I just can't for the life of me figure out why a person would try to read columns that way. I know in non-English speaking countries, it's common to read in directions that would confound a native English speaker (like the right to left reading common in Asian countries). But is this manner of interpreting columns that common? I know the U.S., U.K. and Australia generally read "right column then left column" but now you have me wondering if English speakers in other countries do something different similar to reading right to left in Asian nations. If so, then you are totally right that we have a problem when we use them (and not just in cast lists but around wikipedia on the whole). Personally, I find them helpful from a reader perspective when cast lists run long (way easier to read from phone, tablet, or wide screen monitor when in columns).
- I think we should take this over to the film project's talk page at WT:FILM if you're game. Right now, I think it's just you, Erik, and I discussing it and you and I obviously have strong opinions about it so we could probably use more input. There's a lot of folks over there of various English backgrounds (different nations, English as a second language folks, etc.) so we might be able to get a better sense of how English readers around the world are dealing with such information and proceed from there. If a lot of people are having the problem you describe, then you're absolutely right that we should reconsider so that we aren't messing with the readers' ability to parse the articles. If you don't beat me to it, I'll post a question over there for them later. I figure whatever article you and I both touched recently would work as a great example to illustrate the question.
- Also, sorry if I'm coming off rude in type. The last few days I've been in such a hurry when I'm on here that I've been more curt than I like in these talk page interactions and I think it may be translation as cranky instead of slightly rushed. :( Millahnna (talk) 20:13, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

George of the Jungle 2
Hi there, I see you have made some pretty major changes to this article. I have decided to take on board what you said about trying to help with editing pages. I think the plot does need refining and narrowing to a more concise plot and think some of the edits you made were good to help do that. But I don't think reverting to 2 years previously one is neccessary, I was wondering how we might come to a mutal agreement on the page? Stiarts erid (talk) 08:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)stiarts eridStiarts erid (talk) 08:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
- The first bloat of the plot came approximately two years ago. It added trivial details, poor writing (mainly grammar problems and juvenile phrasing) and brought it up to over 900 words. THe second bloat came more recently and added even more of the same. This plot was stable on the article for years prior to both batches of bloating. WP:FILMPLOT. Millahnna (talk) 01:04, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Okay then well here is what I will suggest that might satisfy us both if I go through it and edit it to a more concise grammatically correct plot then you go through it and edit if you deem it neccessary, would you agree to that? I will wait for your instruction. Stiarts erid (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:17, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi, User:Stiarts erid has started the edit war again on The Fog (2005 film). I do not know what to do. He even said that I bullied him.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 17:59, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
No I have not started an edit war I just am rather sick and tired of you not taking any notice of my contributions just because they aren't quite what you think they should be. I thought Wikipedia encourages people to to make contributions obviously unless its what someone else thinks this is wrong. I am quite prepared to discuss it rationally but when people don't listen to what I have to say that's when I get very annoyed!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stiarts erid (talk • contribs) 18:04, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- Well, he did made some disruptive edits in the past, and also because he called some editors, including me, NAZIs, so pardon me since I am still trying to get over that.--NeoBatfreak (talk) 18:30, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm sorry guys I'm pulling 80 hour weeks at work right now and haven't had a chance to get into this. Might I suggest stopping by the film project and asking for guidance (since both articles I've seen conflicts on are film articles)? Millahnna (talk) 03:10, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Just report him at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring for George of the Jungle 2. With his history of causing edit wars as he did on The Fog (2005 film), I doubt that he can stay in Wikipedia for long.--75.31.169.129 (talk) 20:21, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
- I share the sentiments of IP 75.31. If he reverts again serve him up at ANI. You must not revert that page again Millahnna, otherwise if an admin starts chucking blocks around you could get caught in the crossfire. You haven't broken 3RR yourself so let's keep it that way. Betty Logan (talk) 08:53, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

I notice you haven't edited since the incident with User:Stiarts erid. He has been indefinitely blocked now, so I hope we see you around again. Betty Logan (talk) 09:05, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. Been tied up at work again so I've hopped on anon to correct a few minor bits here and there but haven't done anything major. Plus everytime I run into one of these types of things I'm sort of instantly exhausted and wikiburnt. Weird. In any case I'll have to look up the dramallama and see how everything went down. 184.76.86.175 (talk) 09:28, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
