Pseudo Quadraphonics edit

22:30, 8 October 2005, I put this paragraph up into Quadraphonic sound. What remains of it is in Hafler circuit. I was then 84.220.35.62 Tiscali dial-up internet (8Kb/s) in Somerset, England.

"Passive Pseudo Quad" can be much more realistic than would appear from the name. It has been observed that ambient sounds in a concert, such as applause or even coughs from the audience, are generally received in "opposite phase" by the stereophonic microphones, while sound from the musicians is generally in "syncronous phase". Thus, if rear speakers are fed with the difference between the stereo channels, audience noises and echoes from the auditorium can be heard from behind the listener. This can be most easily achieved by wiring two similar additional rear speakers in series (typically 8+8=16 ohms) between the live feeds to the front speakers. The "crosstalk" or loss of stereo separation in the front speakers is less than 2dB while the rear sound level in a typical stereo-recorded live performance is about 7dB below the front, but clearly audible. This "passive" method is arguably as good as any of the expensive "active matrix" electronic decoders which attempt to reconstruct ambient sound from a stereo recording.

Speedy deletion of Left Hand of the Electron edit

A tag has been placed on Left Hand of the Electron requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Tristar Worldwide edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tristar Worldwide, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://us.tristarworldwide.com/discover-tristar/about-us.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Tristar Worldwide edit

Hello, I see another user has speedily deleted your article Tristar Worldwide but I wanted to respond to the question you left on the talk page prior to deletion:

The content from www.tristarworldwide.com is reproduced with the owner's permission. I am a retired employee of Tristar Worldwide Ltd and I have been requested to create this page by them because Wikipedia rules prohibit serving officers of the company to do so. Please let me know if I need to quote their permission here? --MikeYates (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
To directly address your question regarding copyrights, please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online -- in short you would need the text concerned to be explicitly made available under an appropriate license. That said, please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and material published must be written from a neutral point of view, in an encyclopedic fashion with appropriate references, and the subject of articles must meet relevant notability guidelines. Regarding having been "requested to create this page" I would also advise you read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. UkPaolo/talk 11:19, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Tristar Worldwide requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Difference between this article and Addison Lee edit

I noted your comment that this article has been deleted previously, while the article about competitor Addison Lee remains. I suggest you take a close look at the two articles, and compare them against Wikpedia's notability guidelines. In particular, take a look at the list of References in that article, and compare against the complete lack of references in Tristar Worldwide. Before trying to create another article, you need to gather references about the subject. To establish notability, most of these need to be detailed coverage in reliable sources which are independent of the company. To have a better chance of an article that "sticks", I recommend the process at Your first article--Gronk Oz (talk) 12:37, 14 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
