Removal of Content?

The content was removed because the links were wrong. They are were spanish grand prix. But the results were the latest ones. I understand I should have explained the removal as some people won't read what was removed but I don't see how you can remove all the race results? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adithecool (talkcontribs) 14:25, 24 May 2015 (UTC)

I use a program called Huggle which removes vandalism from Wikipedia, and it mistakenly clipped your edit which you added a lot of content – instead of the later edit, which there was a slight removal of content. I believe this occured because both of your edits were made in a quick succession. Either way, the matter has been dealt with, your edit has been restored, and like you've said, explaining helps editors understand what you're trying to do. —MelbourneStartalk 14:37, 24 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi there,

I noticed that your're the editor for Eaglexpress Air Charter information on Wikipedia. I'm the son of CEO Eaglexpress Air Charter Sdn Bhd, as an AVP for IT & Ground support.

This is to inform that a lot of the information need to be updated as we have change our investors. This might jeopardize our image as we're being backed by new investors.

Appreciate if you grant me the privilege to amend and updates on Eaglexpress Air Charter Wikipedia page.

Hey Keilan11379, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Before editing said article, it's perhaps best you acquaint yourself with this Wikipedia guideline, which strongly urges you not to directly edit the Eaglexpress article – but instead recommends that you propose changes within the article's talk page (here).
Furthermore, content on Wikipedia must be verified by reliable sources – you are unable to provide information based on your own knowledge. If you have any further issues, please don't hesitate to let me know. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 09:38, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

A beer for you!

It is great to see MelbourneStar shine again! For all that anti-vandal work you have done, the drinks are on me... :D — Yash! (Y) 14:55, 24 May 2015 (UTC)
Yash! thank you very much! hope all is well, and I'll see you around the project. All the best, —MelbourneStartalk 06:56, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
I remember once discussing with you about an RfA. I had a little list of people in my mind who would easily pass when I left. Now, all of them are admins except for one. So what is keeping you from trying? — Yash! (Y) 09:00, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Yes I do recall our conversation many months ago   I suppose life outside of Wikipedia really has gotten the better of me – that's not to say I'm busy and not interested; contrarily, I'm no longer as busy outside of Wikipedia as I once was and I am still interested in seeing how I can help out the project in another capacity. It's just that for now, I'd like to get reacquainted with the basics after a while of no heavy editing. Speaking of - how are you enjoying your return to Wikipedia? it's good to see you back! —MelbourneStartalk 09:38, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
I got caught up in the real life so had to go. So far it has been great! I missed editing here and now I have learned to spare some time for Wikipedia without disturbing events of the outside world :) — Yash! (Y) 10:12, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Life tends to do that, even at the most inconvenient times. But I'm glad you're back! if you ever need anything, I'm just a talk page away or email! —MelbourneStartalk 10:26, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Homosexual agenda

The page on homosexual agenda is false and how it describes Christian groups. It you did your research correctly you would find the homosexual agenda true and has been admitted to by both feministic groups and leaders in the LBGT in America. Wikipedia in attacking Christians is not acting in a neutral way and in America violating both my 1st and 14th amendments rights guaranteed under the Constitution. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:A:5780:4EA0:5D73:79BC:ACAF:3A6C (talk) 13:56, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

If you continue to add non-neutral content to Wikipedia, you may lose your editing privileges. Oh, and for what it's worth: your 1st and 14th amendment rights don't really mean a lot here. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 14:01, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Need for Speed

Hello MelbourneStar,

Can you please explain how what I am posting on the Need For Speed page relates to promotional material. It is simply a leaked description of the game. I even removed the link to the Game.co.uk. I am not promotion but I am simply posting a description of the game for other users to see.

If you want to be credited for posting this info then go ahead.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.145.159 (talk) 14:29, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

It's not about taking credit about this information – quite frankly, I'd rather not. The language used in the description of the game is non-neutral, and clearly an advertisement for the game. Apart from that: the content is unsourced – there are no reliable sources to corroborate these claims. Furthermore, if the content is credible – if it has been "copy and pasted" as you allude → copyright violations. Please do not add this content back in unless it's completely neutral, there are reliable sources, and it's rewritten to avoid copyright infringement. —MelbourneStartalk 14:36, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Here is the source. Fell free to watch it when you have the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2tcfbWB5qk

and isn't the whole Need For Speed page a one large piece of promotional material. It does not really matter what type of language and wording is used. The NFS page promotes the game by providing the viewer with information on the game-play, DLC and other bits. I guess we should just delete the whole NFS page since it promotes the game. Stay true to your words and delete the whole page.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.145.159 (talk) 14:47, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

A YouTube video is not what Wikipedia defines as a reliable source.
The article is about the game, it provides factual information. Not a glowing promotion and advertisement as the information you have provided does. So therefore, it's not going to be deleted anytime soon. —MelbourneStartalk 14:52, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

did you click on the link in the description? http://www.game.co.uk/en/need-for-speed-634008?pageSize=40&categoryIdentifier=737262&catGroupId= — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.145.159 (talk) 14:55, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

The source you've provided is to an online game shop, which is also a questionable source. You would be able to cite it as a source, but it should not be relied upon for the amount of information you wish to add. Indeed, a simple sentence confirming that there is a new NFS and that a store in Britain has already purchased it, would be as much as you could do with said source. I'd wait until you have reliable sources – online newspaper articles etc. – before adding in this content. —MelbourneStartalk 15:05, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

You do not make sense and you keep contradicting your self. Even if I find an article, this article will be getting the information from the same source as me. It is still not credible just because someone else wrote it. Just because it is a news site, it does not mean that all the information if any is credible. You should take Mass Media study in school or university before you write. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.145.159 (talk) 15:21, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

The only difference between your site, and a media article – is that Wikipedia recognises one as reliable, and not the other. If you don't appreciate this, you don't have to edit Wikipedia. And please don't lecture me about what I ought to know about Media and Journalism, I major in the latter. This discussion is finished, I've tried to point you in the right direction, but if you're unable to listen, there's nothing more I can do. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 15:29, 25 May 2015 (UTC)

Just to end the conversation. While the content guidelines for External links prohibits linking to "Individual web pages that primarily exist to sell products or services," inline citations may be allowed to e-commerce pages such as that of a book on a bookseller's page or an album on its streaming-music page, in order to verify such things as titles and running times. Journalistic and academic sources are preferable, however, and e-commerce links should be replaced with non-commercial reliable sources if available. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources#E-commerce_sources

Bareilly College ‎

Hi,

The source is me I am fighting a case with the help of the UN and the Head of the States around the world. Please let me know what your concerns are?

Thanks and Regards, Prakash Sahni — Preceding unsigned comment added by Practaanalysis (talkcontribs) 12:05, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi Prakesh, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Firstly, the content you wish to add into the Bareilly College must be verified by reliable sources. You cannot cite yourself as a source, as that would be original research.
Moreover, it should not be you who adds the said content to the article, as it directly involves you. To avoid conflict of interest editing, it is best that you discuss the changes you wish to be made, on the talk page of the article (here) – and another editor may make those changes, should they be appropriate. Hope that helps! —MelbourneStartalk 12:22, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

I have reached the page of which you left a link. I don't know how to start talking to others. I don't know where to leave for after that page. Please help me out. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Practaanalysis (talkcontribs) 12:36, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

I can see that you've left an appropriate talk page message (here). It may be best to also add any other published reliable sources you may have to verify the content you wish to add. —MelbourneStartalk 13:18, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

University of Bath wiki page

Hi MelbourneStar,

In response to your message regarding changes to the University of Bath wiki page, I am a content producer for the University, and I am updating the rankings section to reflect the most recent league tables. I am working from home today in case you were wondering why my IP address wasn't one your recognised.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.38.6.36 (talkcontribs)

Hello, I've undone your edits, as they remove sourced content. Could you please update the outdated content, and of course, provide a new reliable source to back up the rankings? Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 09:49, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Reverting edits

Hello MelbourneStar I have noticed that you keep on reverting my edits. I admit that I am new to Wikipedia edits so my actions have been ill advised so far. However, I believer after the 12 hours during which I was blocked, I have been able to edit the promotional content that was in the article. You can take the time to compare the articles I submitted yesterday and today and you will understand that promotional content has greatly reduced. If there is any other reason why you would want to revert my edits, please let me know so I can work on it. I am on a tight schedule here so please bear me out. Thanks. Ayeley Commodore-Mensah (talk) 09:39, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Ayeley, you're still adding promotional material full of puffery to said article which is unacceptable. After your first warning from your initial block, you probably should have completely revised the content again – as you may lose your editing privileges again. Please be more careful when adding content to Wikipedia, for future references. Thank you, —MelbourneStartalk 09:44, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
I have issued a final warning on this. This is getting ridiculous, I am seeing no material change in the content added, it is fundamentally promotional in tone throughout. Fenix down (talk) 10:20, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
I've already issued a report to WP:AIV, but certainly, I hope they take your final warning as good advisement and don't continue adding in said content. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 10:27, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Barack Obama "Hope" poster

Hi. I noticed your reverts at this article, and while I agree with them (the source cited touches only tangentially on the poster), I think it would help if you were a bit more careful about how you communicate with the IP who has added the information. In particular here the automated message you left them indicates that the problem was commentary or personal analysis, which it wasn't at all. An NPOV problem, yes, but as I see it the problem is with the inclusion of the content in general, not with the other editor's presentation of it. VernoWhitney (talk) 12:45, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

The editor used the term "embattled" when describing Hillary Clinton – which, I assume, is the editor's doing, considering s/he earlier quoted from the article, but didn't put the term "embattled" in quotation marks (as opposed to their previous quotes). So I do believe the said message was appropriate, and more so, Huggle doesn't (to my understanding) accomodate a change in the language used in automated NPOV messages. Gustave Trouvé English pagfe

Hi Together with a friend, we have been carefully and slowly updating the Wikipedia page about Gustave Trouvé. This has not been easy as it has been a real learning curve. All the information in this page comes from my two books, which took 25 years to research into primary sources. Click on the biography links at the bottom of the page entry. About editing One Direction Members

Hi MelbourneStar! I made a recent edit to One Direction Members. I know that it don't have a link to where you can find it but i'm making you sure that it was a reliable source. I got that facts or trivia on the Fact Site on internet that they make sure that it was right. So pls stop saying that I made a wrong edits.AllysaSaymo21 (talk) 09:57, 5 June 2015 (UTC)AllysaSaymo21

Pls answer this. You can answer this on my talk 1.How long have you been here in wikipedia? 2.What's the most thing you edit the most on wikipedia?politics.athlethes, movies, etc 3.Do you know the One Direction or are you familiar of them? 4.Do you know anything about the person im editing or can i make sure that you're writing correct about them? 5.Are you a man or a woman and how old are you? so that I can assure that you're doing the right thing about changing edits. AllysaSaymo21 (talk) 09:57, 5 June 2015 (UTC)AllysaSaymo21

1: Almost 5 years.
2: I edit a range of topics from skyscrapers, to television series', to politics and even biographies of people.
3: Very familiar.
4: Yes, I do.
5: Male, and I won't disclose my exact age, but I'm as old or older than Styles.
Now that I've answered your questions, could you please answer mine? Okay, @AllysaSaymo21: will you please start using reliable sources to verify the content you are adding into articles on Wikipedia?
Multiple editors have asked you time and time again to do so, but you keep on ignoring these requests. Please add content with sources, for future references. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 10:21, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

MelbourneStar ok i'm going to assure you that i'm going to put a reliable source on anything i will edit. But why some of the things about the person there doesn't have a reliable source and doesn't know if that was true and what are the things i can put there that don't need a source AllysaSaymo21 (talk) 10:46, 5 June 2015 (UTC)AllysaSaymo21≫≫

List of tallest buildings in Melbourne

I've left some comments on the talk page. I haven't taken any information out of history "at its expense", and I'll have you know that I actually wrote most of what is now in your "History" section for the article lead back in early 2014. So you're actually using my words, in a context I don't appreciate. Ashton 29 (talk) 07:37, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

You don't own those words – Wikipedia does. Okay? also, I've responded to your comments on the talk. I appreciate you not edit warring. —MelbourneStartalk 07:38, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey there,

nypiper here. I'm not used to using this feature.  :) Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, I just saw your message. You wrote me in regards to a deletion that I made on my page (Jeffrey Reddick) on Wikipedia. An article appeared in The Hollywood Reporter that said I was going to be making my directorial debut with a project called The Final Reel. But the Wikipedia entry said that I already made my directorial debut...ie...that the film was already shot. However, the financing fell through on the project. While we're hoping to get it financed this year, I may be directing another project before then.

I should have put that description in the comment section. Apologies for that.

If you need any further information, you can contact me directly at nypiper@aol.com. Or Jeffreyreddick@me.com.

All my best, Jeffrey Reddick — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nypiper (talkcontribs) 19:27, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Talk page vandalism

Your recent reversion of my edit was an example of a talk page guideline violation. If you do not like when people notice you engaging in meat puppetry then perhaps it would be better for you to simply refrain from engaging in meat puppetry rather than deleting comments on your behavior? Chrononem  12:17, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

You mislabelling edits as vandalism, and accusing editors of meat-puppetry (without evidence) is something that if done plenty of times, could land you in hot water. The very next time you do this, I'll be taking this issue to WP:ANI quick smart. Regards, —MelbourneStartalk 12:29, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
I feel like you have more to worry about by posting yourself on the WP:ANI than I possibly could. Especially if they review your POV edits on the varrious HRC related pages. As always, the best way to stop people from calling out your misbehavior is to stop misbehaving. Chrononem  12:47, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
I think my edits, and the way I have handled myself in such situation speaks for itself. Hence, I have taken your conduct to ANI. All the best, —MelbourneStartalk 13:43, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
I definitely think you have done the right thing here. The folks at WP:ANI will take a dim view of Chrononem's disruptive behavior. -- Scjessey (talk) 16:11, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks @Scjessey: Good on you for closing the non-constructive discussion in the first place  . I can see Chrononem has been blocked by Swarm for incivility, personal attacks, edit warring and disruptive editing for a week. Hopefully, should they return, they are ready to contribute to discussions constructively, exercising some due dilligence. Best, —MelbourneStartalk 08:16, 4 August 2015 (UTC)
