Path of the Furon error.

I'd like to point out that you created a double negative in one of your edits. Please note that in the following sentence, you changed the sentence that was already describing Crypto, to Crypto, producing Using the money earned from the Big Willy fast food franchise that Orthopox started, Pox and Crypto, Crypto have opened a "family friendly" casino with which they use to rake in a steady flow of cash and human DNA. Note that the sentence now, doesn't make any sense, and the name crypto is repeated. I will change the sentence back immediately to correct this. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Your AVGN edits

Please cease and desist. All such material has previously been removed from video game articles by consensus of the Video game project. AGVN is not considered a reliable or acceptable source on Wikipedia. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 19:41, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

You're 14, so I understand why you may be confused about how things operate here. Video game articles have a group of reliable sources put together by the video game project. Specifically, after much discussion, consensus was achieved and AVGN was found not to be a reliable source for use in Wikipedia articles. The value of his show is purely for entertainment purposes only, which does not meet Wikipedia reliability standards for content, references, and external links. It was also found that the inclusion of his material in articles was bordering on promotion because of this, since the fact that a game was reviewed by AVGN is not notable in itself. In most cases, his inclusion was borderline spam, as fans were constantly spamming articles across Wikipedia with even just one liners that he had reviewed said subject. An administrator then proceeded to remove all instances, and it was decided that vigilance in monitoring articles against edits for him was more appropriate then banning him outright. As far as his own page (which has constantly come up for deletion by the way), that has little to do with the matter here. He is entitled to his own page here because he himself (after much debate on the matter) meets requirements for a topic or subject to have an article on Wikipedia. I.E. he is a notable enough entertainment figure to have an article on Wikipedia because of his popularity as an entertainment figure. This has nothing to do with the content and quality of his reviews for use in an encyclopedia however, other than in articles whose subject is directly him. Also, I'm not sure where you get that a page of text is 500GB? The page is 39kB long. Lastly, I should also point out regarding your reasoning that the fact that other stuff exists on Wikipedia with AVGN in it (specifically his own article), does not mean his content meets guidelines for use in other content here. One is a subject, the other is a source. To have an article here, a subject simply has to meet notability requirements. To be used as a reference or content in unrelated articles, a source has to meet a different set of standards. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 20:16, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Friendly note regarding talk page messages

Hello. As a recent editor to User talk:59.95.108.37, I wanted to leave a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages. While we may prefer that comments be archived instead, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors like this one- from deleting messages from their own talk pages. The only kinds of talk page messages that cannot be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppet notices, or IP header templates (for unregistered editors) ... and these exceptions only exist to keep a user from potentially gaming the system. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 16:11, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

  • I was going to leave the same message, but Kralizec! beat me to it! let me just add that removing warnings does not "restart the clock" regarding potential blocks for mischief, and any RCP like yourself (or a blocking admin) can look at the edit and warning history when deciding whether to report, block, or place further warnings regarding a vandalizing editor. -RoBoTamice 16:15, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Talk pages with nothing but spam/advertising content can be tagged for deletion via a WP:CSD#G11 speedy deletion. --Kralizec! (talk) 17:28, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Reverting

For your information, you needn't undoing several times an edit to revert successive vandalism edits, for example in this case. You can access the latest revision before vandalism in searching history, it's this one. Then you edit this revision (it'll be a warning "you're editing an old revision"), and save with an edit summary like "revert vandalism". The article will be reverted to this version. This is explained at Help:Reverting. Cenarium Talk 17:13, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

NUNS help

Hi Megaman, I have changed the ultimate ninja storm wiki article which has been changed to say that the 1st and 2nd Hokage are DLC only, which there is no proof. I know someone else will change it again at some point so if you can give me a hand removing any changes like that that would be really helpful. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThadiusCole (talkcontribs) 18:52, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Halloween franchise

The term franchise means the entire series, not just the films but also spin-offs and merchandise related to the films. That's why stuff like novels, comic books and toys are covered on that article.  Paul  730 01:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Paul beat me to the response. He's right, the page is on the entire franchise, which covers everything from the films to the games. The films are the most prominent, because it all started with them, but everything else gets coverage just the same.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 01:07, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Locations

Sometimes a concise summary is appropriate if it is essential to understanding the game or its significance in the industry.

The locations in Path of the Furon spoof real-life locations. This is esential to understanding it's signifigance in the industry, as all Destroy All Humans! Locations have spoofed other well known locations. Therefore, deletion is not necessary. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 22:36, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I see in hindsight how my edit summary may have given the impression of vandalism, but it wasn't. Please see the page history. Also, please do not remove comments from my talk page. Welcoming

Hi Megaman en m. There's little point in welcoming users who have not made a single edit yet. It can actually be detrimental, as it is a pointless use of server resources and gets in the way of vandalfighters. About nine out of ten new accounts never make an edit anyway. User:WhiteLilyFlour, etc.

I don't think it is a good idea to be marking user pages with {{db-g2}}. Even if people were using their pages for testing, there is nothing wrong with that, and it's certainly not a reason to speedy delete their pages. Also, edit warring with the user over that tag, as you did at User:WhiteLilyFlour, comes across as just plain antagonistic to me. Unless there is something obviously inappropriate, please don't tag user pages with db-g2 anymore. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 23:29, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention. However, your report has been removed due to the username not violating policy, or not being blatant enough for a block. Please remember you should only post infringements on this page if they are so serious that the user needs to be blocked immediately. Others should be discussed with the user in question first, for example using the {{Uw-username}} template. A request for comment can be filed if the user disagrees that their name is against the username policy, or has continued to edit after you have expressed your concern. Thank you. User page speedy deletion

In regards to this edit, if you had bothered to run the text through google translation, or anything similar, you would have seen that it was just a request for people to communicate with the user in Japanese. I suggest a (re)reading of WP:BITE because even non-native English speakers can make valuable contributions to the project, and a message labeling their native language as unsalvageably incoherent is not the best way to foster a community spirit. Neier (talk) 00:32, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Robert Murray Keith (the younger)

It is common courtesy NOT to edit articles tagged "Underconstruction" or "inuse". Some one lese is likely to be actively editing them, and quite possibly dealing with very issues that you want to raise. In doing so, you can very easily cause another editor to lose hours of his work in constructing a new article, he mishandles the edit conflect procedure, which it easy to do. If you find an article so tagged that has not been touched for days, by all measn edit it and remove the tag, applying something more suitable, but NOT when some one else may be constructing it. I would appreciate your apology. Peterkingiron (talk) 23:08, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Looking at the comments further up this page, it seem to me that you need to learn not to throw your weight around by a large amount of destructive editing and tagging. If you cannot learn to do this, some one will have to request that adminsitrative action be taken against you. You have been warned. Peterkingiron (talk) 23:13, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

It looks like you're actually vandalizing more than restoring. Stop being a wikipolice if you know nothing about this place. Keep your tiny fingers away from here for real. Go outside and play ball or something, deleting thing for no reason is not fun.

Please go find yourself an appropriate "job". Use your common sense and don't delete things you know nothing about.

Hey, could you provide reasoning for the tagging, please? Also examples of where these extra "links" might be placed; everything link-worthy has been linked. You might like to archive your talkpage as well.Ironholds (talk) 15:50, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Here's a suggestion then; add one. I'm one of many who feel that going around the wiki tag-happy is not a good idea. You spent 5 seconds adding another page to a category that is already heavily backlogged when an extra ten seconds would have allowed you to put the infobox in yourself and save someone else some time. In addition, good luck finding an infobox template; he's a peer, and as of yet I've been unable to find any infobox related to them.
In future and in conclusion please think. By tagging pages as such you're wasting time; you could simply have added the related content yourself. If it is a 4-page article on a historical english legal institution then fair enough, you may not have the specialist knowledge to help out, but it is a bio two lines long, not the most difficult thing in the world.Ironholds (talk) 17:28, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to echo Jmh649's concern here: Slapping a CSD tag on an stub less than one minute after its creation is inappropriate and unfriendly. Although I suspect that Jmh649 accidentally hit the 'save page' button before he meant to, the stub was clearly about a real topic, and if you'd waited just ten minutes, you would have seen further improvements. I'd like to suggest that you consider a one-hour waiting period in such cases.
