Speedy deletion nomination of Pannadi edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Pannadi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Devendrakula Velalar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Salem (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Chozhia Vellalar Pages like this have contents without references so what should be done? Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 06:47, 1 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
Chozhia Vellalar already has three tags for needing sources (the little superscript "citation needed" notes), which you can add by typing {{cn}} after the sentence/paragraph that is not properly sourced, like this.[citation needed] You can also add {{refimprove}} at the top of an article, if the article generally needs improved referencing, and {{refimprove-section}} for a single section. If you look at Template:More citations needed#Differences_from_related_templates, you will find lots of other specific examples of ways to tag as needing improved sourcing.
As I wrote above, if you believe a long-standing article needs deleting, it is usually best to take it to WP:Articles for Deletion, so that the community can discuss whether or not it should be deleted. There's an guide for new editors at Wikipedia:Introduction to deletion process. Hope this helps, Espresso Addict (talk) 07:15, 1 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Agna divisions edit

Hello, Mamallarnarashimavarman. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Agna divisions".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 14:13, 18 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained removal edit

Why do this? It is obvious to me that you and the person who added that entry to the list are having a bit of a fight between yourselves across numerous articles but, certainly in this instance, the entry was valid in terms of sourcing and aligned with the linked article. You gave no reason at all for removal, so I have reverted you. - Sitush (talk) 19:31, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I couldn't find it in the source if I am not mistaken, that's why I removed it. Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 19:35, 18 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Sitush (talk) 13:51, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am very close to asking an admin to block you for edit warring across a multitude of articles. Examples: Mala (caste), Velalar, Devendra kulam, Kudumbar, Devaneya Pavanar, and Thenkalam. In some cases, this seems to have been going on for days now. It has to stop. You already know from the protection applied at Devendra Kulathan by El C that these things should be discussed, not warred over. I am tempted to revert all articles to the state they were in prior to both the edits of yourself and EruTheLord. - Sitush (talk) 14:04, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes I understand, but why aren't the issues being discussed before making the change that is what I don't understand. I was reverting back because all the users are new and they editing on their own way. There is another user which I saw who is also doing something similar. This are the two users EruTheLord & Abjith Iyer. I have no personal conflicts with them, this is what I would like to clarify too. Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 15:01, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I noticed that there are now several accounts in opposition to you. I have just said this at EruTheLord's talk page. Taking the disputed articles back to prior to your first edit on them might be quite drastic - it depends if unrelated statements etc have been added by others in the intervening time. Nonetheless, it may be the only way forward as I am struggling to see why this has become such a wide problem and where best it might be resolved bearing in mind it does seem to affect a lot of articles now. - Sitush (talk) 15:31, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Well, they (your "opponents") are definitely correct in some cases. For example, this is not what the source says. It specifically says the Pallars and you cannot start changing things to DVK just because you prefer that. It looks like I will have to revert a lot of your edits. - Sitush (talk) 17:35, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
As a further example to the above, this edit in February is, like that above, still being edit warred by you today. Why? The thing was not sourced then and seemingly never has been so there is no way you could reach the conclusion you did without using original research. Am I really going to have to check everything you have done since February? It's appalling. - Sitush (talk) 17:39, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
This one, which you have edit warred over, is a straight violation of WP:BLP - we do not state the caste of living people unless we have a reliable source which shows them self-identifying as a member of that caste. - Sitush (talk) 17:52, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
So far, I reckon I have reverted in excess of 50 edits made by you, all of them unsupported by sources etc. This is another egregious example of WP:POV - why on earth did you think it was ok to remove that information without first getting consensus to do so? Of course, you'd tried several times and that should have made it clear to you that your version was contested. - Sitush (talk) 19:03, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Okay bro noted, for this one samathuvapuram, the background is unrelated to the article that's why i said it's unrelated to the topic. Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 03:57, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Can you go through this source and see, this is a latest anthropology report https://apiar.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/3_APJABSS_v5i2_2019_pp.-21-33.pdf Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 03:59, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

You seem to be very blase about these problems that I have found. What am I supposed to be looking for in that paper? It looks suspiciously like a predatory journal to me and, if so, wouldn't be reliable anyway. - Sitush (talk) 04:41, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I've read it. It is near-useless for what you are trying to do. You are trying to impose a claim to Devendra K classification as a fact, eg: it says The seven subcommunities (five groups excluding Devendrakulathan and Pallan) have come together in a social movement for a collective identity, their cause being revivalistic in character with regard to their Identity. The Pallar article already notes this claim and there is nothing wrong with noting similarly in the related articles but what you cannot do is go around tens of articles changing Pallar to read Devendrakula Velalar etc. It simply does not align with the majority of reliable sources and is clearly a politicised movement. - Sitush (talk) 05:29, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

The study was done by madras university after the government ordered them to do soo. https://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/Madurai/centre-to-depute-anthropologists-to-tamil-nadu/article8217043.ece/amp/

The report was the outcome of Shobana Sharma & Prof S. Sumathi University of Madras, Chennai. India.

Yes Agreed sometimes it was a political movement, but this one is not. The conclusion of the report is one of the few things I would like to highlight.

1) This was from the article The study validated the above facts through historical, archeological and empirical evidences. The ethnographic documentation of the seven sub-communities has followed the scien- tific approach. Ethnologically the seven sub-communities were analyzed to establish the identity. The identity among the sub communities is Devendakula Velalar. In conclusion, this study recommends that the claim of the sub communities (Kudumban, Pannadi, Kadayan, Kaladi, Vathiriyaan, Pallan and Devendra Kulathan) for a singular identity of Devendrakula Velalar is FACTUAL AND JUSTIFED. There are no significant limitations in the present study as the study covered the required demographic distribution. The study could not factor the population who has migrated to other states.

2) The origin of Kudumbar is also explained that it is associated with the origin of the velalar in Tamil Nadu.

3) Another thing that is often confused is Velalar and Vellalar. Both are different and both means different. I will also provide the references here regarding it. Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 05:52, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Vellalar and velalar are in practice one and the same. They are just spelling differences. If you claim otherwise better provide a source, which I am sure you can't. you will be most probably citing some biased documents or unworthy research. EruTheLord (talk) 06:09, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
We are not using any politicised source as a statement of fact. That report is politicsed and you have said as much yourself - the university was ordered to do it. We can mention things like this but it is wrong to deny decades of other reliable sources etc just because one report says differently, especially when that one report is the outcome of all sorts of revisionist history pressure being applied on politicians. - Sitush (talk) 06:17, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

You should be addressing this to mamallanarasimhavarman I suppose. EruTheLord (talk) 06:47, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am trying to but neither of you seem to have much clue about how to indent on talk pages - this is a problem at pretty much every talk page where the pair of you interact. - Sitush (talk) 07:05, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sitush, if you find the absence of WP:INDENT occuring regularly, you may summarily remove any such comments from these two editors until they figure it out. If this is how article talk pages look like, then it's disruptive to the stability of those pages. Competence is required. El_C 11:43, 20 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Source query edit

Hi, I have queried a source here. You've used it quite a lot and in ways that may be contentious, so we really could do with a resolution otherwise I think it will have to be removed from all the articles where you cited it. I can ask other people to check the thing but since you are active it is easiest to ask you as the person who added it in the first place. - Sitush (talk) 09:31, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

What am I supposed to do? Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 10:46, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Go to the cited page in the source and provide a quote of what it says to support Pannadi is a subcaste of the Pallar and are found in Kongu Nadu, which is located in the western region of Tamil Nadu, India or whatever it says if it does not say that. The quote can be put on the article talk page. There are also two uses of the p 74 of that source at Devendrakula Velalar and they appear to contradict each other, so a quote relating to that would be handy also. If it is easier, scan or photograph the page from the book and email it to me but be aware that if you do that it will disclose your email address to me. - Sitush (talk) 11:49, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Okay bro understood, will do it as soon as possible Mamallarnarashimavarman (talk) 15:08, 21 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I have replied at Talk:Pannadi, which is where this should be. - Sitush (talk) 06:28, 22 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Partial block from Devendra Kulathan edit

You have been blocked from editing certain areas of the encyclopedia for a period of 2 weeks for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction edit

The following sanction now applies to you:

You have been topic banned indefinitely from all caste-related pages, broadly construed.

You have been sanctioned for long-term disruption of caste-related pages. I'm sorry, but you are a net negative when it comes to these pages, especially in the context of your constant edit warring with your counterpart.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. El_C 04:11, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Block edit

To enforce an arbitration decision and for topic ban violations, you have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes" [in the procedure]). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."

Blocked again edit

  • You recently posted to my talk page, asking me to make an edit to what you called "the Kudumbar article". On checking the relevant editing history I found that there are two serious problems with the edit request you posted to me. Firstly, you were asking me to restore content which you have in the past added to the article more than once; in other words you were asking me to help you to edit-war by proxy, in such a way that the edit-warring would not be attributed to you. Secondly, you were asking me to make an edit on your behalf on a topic from which you are banned; in other words you were asking me to help you evade your topic ban by proxy. I would have simply given you a warning not to do either of those again, were it not for the fact that you have previously been blocked both for edit-warring and for evasion of your topic ban. I have therefore blocked you from editing again, this time for a substantially longer time than either of your previous blocks, in the hope that this may get the message through to you. If I see that you continue to attempt to evade your topic ban, to edit war, to try to get any other editor to make edits on your behalf to avoid sanctions for making those edits again, or to do any other kind of unacceptable editing that you have been warned about, I shall be likely to block you for very much longer than I have done on this occasion. Please simply leave the whole topic from which you are banned. JBW (talk) 21:33, 11 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Blocked for sockpuppetry edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mamallarnarashimavarman. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  GeneralNotability (talk) 01:50, 8 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Pannadi edit

The article Pannadi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is enwiki not Tamil wiki. No evidence this word is recognised in English - although there is evidence of a film of this name and also a Dalit people. However, that's not what's presented here and until something valid and sourced is created, this is cruft.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
