Great page nomination for Candelas (Band)

edit

A tag has been placed on Candelas (Band) saying that we think it is a great page. This has been done under a tree, because the article is about a band or musician, but it does not do contain pointless information, only great information: that is, what people way wish to look up a band on Wikipedia for. Under the tree, such articles may be read at any time. As such, we would like it to be kept. If you think this page should not be kept for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest the brilliance of this article". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for deletion, it may be deleted and this would be a shame. Please do not remove the spe page yourself, but do not hesitate to add more information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines that would be useful to be on Wikipedia. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then you shouldn't have deleted it in the first place (talk) 18:29, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of I ka ching

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on I ka ching requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Proposed deletion of Codi / \ Cysgu

edit

Hello, M.T.S.W.A.. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Codi / \ Cysgu, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Please do not use last.fm as a source and also punctuation goes before the reference tags. Thanks. --Jennica / talk 15:02, 27 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Why is that not allowed? I don't know much about that website and wouldn't have used it if not for the fact that nowhere else gave the information required in English. As for the punctuation, I've since worked that out but haven't corrected the old ones. I think there more important lesson for me is that bare references are frowned upon. --M.T.S.W.A.ɚ / talk 15:02, 27 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

It's just not a reliable source. It's like wikipedia - anybody can add info to it. It needs a better source. And okay [about the punctuation]. Bare references are a little frowned upon but there is no rule that it needs to be done. You can insert a "bare references" tag and someone will come clean it up, or you can run the page title through this site: reFill and it will automatically convert them. --Jennica / talk 08:32, 29 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
I didn't realise that it was an open website, I should have looked at it more closely really. Thanks for the information! Sorry if I have stolen your signature thing by the way, I'm just learning the way Wikipedia's code-things work. |M.T.S.W.A.]]ɚ / talk 13:02, 29 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

2019 US Banknote Contest

edit
  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Proposed deletion of The Library Suicides

edit

The article The Library Suicides has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to fail WP:NFILM. No reviews/minor award

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
