A record of your Day will always be kept here.

My dear Lights, you've done so much for me with your caring shows of friendship, that giving you your own special day is the very least I could do to thank you. As long as you remain part of this project, I know we'll enjoy a beautiful beacon of wikilove. I hope you enjoyed your day, my friend - and thanks for the wonderful gifts! :) Love, Phaedriel - 21:19, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

listen buddy i wasnt vandalizing the great power section. i was removing unsourced, controversial information. lists of powers lead to edit wars and fights so i deleted it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.226.67.23 (talk) 02:52, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

People to People

edit

Hey you helped me with an edit war once long ago when I was trying to keep out vandals and I wondered if you could help again. The page People to People Student Ambassador Program keeps having criticims edited out of it by a user named Allforhim2276 who has only joined this site to edit this page judging by their contributions. I mean if the criticims arent appropriate thats one thing but they are legit refrenced and this vandal just keeps reverting. Can you help? Thanks! --Thegingerone 22:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll keep an eye out on the page. Cheers, Lights () 23:19, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox

edit

As I mentioned to your friend Dreamafter, there is no need to reset the sandbox after every edit, in fact it is very unfriendly to newbies and to experimentation when their edits are removed so quickly. Please let people edit the sandbox and leave their edits so they can see them. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.9.80.123 (talk) 02:29, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree with the IP here. If you're resetting the box because someone has blanked it or removed the instructions, that's one thing. But if you're resetting it immediately after every edit, that is inappropriate and needs to stop right away. Thanks, Metros 02:37, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Can you explain to me how pointing to something someone else says (I don't give a damn about Egyptians) and saying that this gives an idea about what motivates this person is a personal attack? Egyegy 23:01, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not quite sure if it's a personal attack, however it's rude to say what you were saying. Cheers, Lights () 23:15, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
What I was saying? You really think that my comment was more rude or an attack than "I don't give a damn about Egyptians"???? Egyegy 23:24, 29 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edit War Problem

edit

Would it be possible if I can get your help in this situation? I've been trying to improve Wikipedia by posting reconstructions of prehistoric animals, however, UtherSRG and I get into constant edit wars because he accuses me of "original research" because my pictures do not meet his apparently impossibly high standards for scientific accuracy. Furthermore, he refuses to realize that self-made images in Wikipedia are exempt from the policy against original research. As far as I can tell, he remains totally immune to reason. And he constantly flouts the 3 Reverts Rule.--Mr Fink 18:21, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't think the image is original research. I'd suggest using the article's talkpage to reach a consensus. Cheers, Lights () 18:34, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
UtherSRG doesn't care about consensus, all he cares is getting his own way.--Mr Fink 19:15, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
He seems to have stopped reverting, I'll keep an eye out on the article. Cheers, Lights () 19:24, 8 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Adloph vandalism

edit

Hi there. I blocked this user for 48 hours, as a self-defense. This is only my second block, and the second in an hour. Was this proper or a COI? Bearian 01:02, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm not an admin, however I believe the block was justified since his contributions were all vandalism, and he only vandalized your userpage once. If his only contributions were vandalizing your userpage, blocking him as a self-defense with no warnings given/no final warning would be inappropriate, unless his contributions indicate that he is an obvious sock.

If I were an admin, I think I would have indef blocked Adloph as a vandalism-only account. Cheers, Lights () 01:14, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
The block was justified, but not as self-defense. He was warned with a Level 4 (last) warning at 0:55 11 October, and vandalized your page at 0:58: 11 October, three minutes later: he should be blocked to prevent further vandalism, which you did. Generally however, users (not IPs) whose contributions are all vandalism are blocked indefinitely after the last warning, especially when they have a questionable username like "Adloph" (misspelling of a certain fool's name). So you should unblock, and immediately reblock him indefinitely, for being a vandalism-only account. Hope that helps you, and if you have any other questions about the tools, I'm rarely off my computer for more than two hours at a time. ;) · AndonicO Talk 11:58, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
