Hi Lucas,

After reading your message on my talk page, I can understand why my removals and warning may have seemed a bit confusing. Wikipedia is beginning to suffer from its own popularity in that a significant amount of linkspam (spammed external links) is being added by people who see WP as a wonderful target to promote their site. Because of this, external links guidelines are tightening up some. The consensus is that external links should be added very sparingly to articles (the exception of course being links that serve as citations for text in the article itself). A link to a particular site should be added to preferably only one article, and even then it's recommended to mention the link on the article's talk page (especially if you run, maintain, or otherwise are affiliated with that site) and allow a consensus to be reached among regular editors of the article regarding its inclusion.

I know this may sound slightly draconian, but unfortunately the amount of spam some articles receive warrants being a bit tough on ELs.

Here is a link to guidelines for adding External links: WP:EL. Also, I will leave you a welcome message below this entry. Yes, it is also a "rubber stamp", but it does provide a number of useful links for new editors. I hope you find it to be helpful. Notability of SellingCR edit

 

A tag has been placed on SellingCR requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Image deletion edit

Said image Image:Peter debernardi barrel.jpg was uploaded with a license that is not compatible with Wikipedia licensing. The user message reads as follows:

All claims of "I have permission to use..." have to be confirmed through the Wikipedia:OTRS verification system. Follow the links on that page on how to request the owner to contact Wikipedia to prove permissions to use. SkierRMH (talk) 06:17, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Once again, since you are not the owner of the image, you have to prove that said image is licensed under {{GFDL}} Also, no source was given in the recent upload to "backtrack"/verify the image's licensing.
