Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Thank you!

What is a Talk page?
Location of the talk page tab

A Talk page (also known as a discussion page) is a place for contributors to calmly discuss improvements to Wikipedia pages. Though it is not a forum.

All Wikipedia pages, including articles and user pages alike, have a corresponding Talk page. To switch to the current page's Talk page, click on the "Talk" tab above the page's title. At the very top of the page there is always a link to your Talk page.

All content and conduct issues should be discussed at either the article's or user's Talk page before requesting dispute resolution.

You can {{ping}} specific editors whom you would like to notify of your message post. Though there is no need to ping someone when you've edited their Talk page, because the Wikimedia software automatically notifies that user.

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}

Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly; your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please let us know on SuggestBot's talk page. -- SuggestBot (talk) 23:40, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

German young wikipediansEdit

Hi Jan-Hendrik,

In Germany there's an organisation called the "Jungwikipedianer", the "young Wikipedians". Would you like to make contact with them? I can definitely facilitate this. Maybe you'd like to start a sibling organisation in South Africa? --Slashme (talk) 11:12, 5 January 2020 (UTC)

@Slashme: Yes, why not? I would love to start a sibling organisation like that here in South Africa. My mission here on Wikipedia is to inevitably grow articles relating to South Africa and by recruiting more younger people, we can grow South African Wikipedia together. LefcentrerightTalk (plz ping) 11:38, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
Done! Let's see whether and when an answer comes. --Slashme (talk) 11:49, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
Hi, I'm a former Jungwikipedianer and still kinda watch them. We once had a Jungwikipedianer from Bangladesh, so you can just ask for becoming a member on de:WP:JWPA. --Kenny McFly (talk) 11:59, 5 January 2020 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attributionEdit

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from 2019 South African general election into 2024 South African general election. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:43, 5 January 2020 (UTC)
