Move edit

For talk previously posted here, please go to Talk:Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai. The two formations operate legally, politically and in every other way as two seperate parties. There is no justification for keeping only one page. Babakathy (talk) 16:37, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

All I have done so far is redistribute the extsing text between the three articles Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai, Movement for Democratic Change – Mutambara and Movement for Democratic Change (pre-2005) and some minor copyediting. A lot of work is still needed to improve the articles. Babakathy (talk) 18:38, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agreed that the two parties operated separately legally and politically, but it is blatantly false to say that the two formations today are Movement for Democratic Change - Tsvangirai and Movement for Democratic Change - Mutambara. The legal name Movement for Democratic Change exists and is still the name that the members that rallied with Arthur Mutambara and now with Welshman Ncube use. This is defined as in the Political Parties Act of Zimbabwe. Those with Tsvangirai registered a different party named Movement for Democratic Change in either late 2005 or early 2006. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wbncube (talkcontribs) 11:34, 28 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

NPOV edit

In the political performance section, it says "it is the only party in Zimbabwe that is practising Democracy". This seems biased, but as I'm unfamiliar with Zimbabwean politics, I don't know if the statement is badly worded, or blatantly false. Thanks, Peacock28 (talk) 00:55, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Claim seems to have been removed

History section edit

Then history section of the article is literally copied from the MDC-M website: [[1]]. So it must be changed or removed. Regards.--HCPUNXKID (talk) 23:45, 8 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

It's a straight copyright violation, so I have removed it. Will try and insert relevant info and cite. Babakathy (talk) 05:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Unless I'm wrong, the only difference between the MDC-N and the UMDC is a name change and the inclusion of some MDC-T dissidents. Charles Essie (talk) 22:02, 16 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Oppose: The MDC-N was a party long before the formation of the UMDC, therefore the MDC-N page contains history which is only related to the MDC-N and not the MDC-Renewal Team so the pages need to remain separate for the sake of clarity. ChieftanTartarus (talk) 11:13, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
