In justified block.

Please explain why you blocked User:212.219.191.183for 1 month because of Vandalism when on User_talk:212.219.191.183 there is only a level 1 warning so far after a block?

Please respond on my talk page as soon as possible.

The user returned to vandalism after a two week block. The user has a consistent history of vandalism and has not been blocked from creating a user name. There are certainly more than one level one warnings on the page. If you feel it is appropriate to shorten or undo the block, feel free. --Kukini hablame aqui 14:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Dear Kukini, my sincere thanks for your support in my second request for adminship, which ended with 113 supports, 11 opposes, and 4 neutral. I would especially like to thank my admin coach and nominator, Rlevse and Ryan Postlethwaite who in addition to Ioeth all inspired me to run for a second candidacy. I would also like to make a special mention to Phoenix-wiki, Dihyrdogen Monoxide and OhanaUnited who all offered to do co-nominations, but I unfortunately had to decline. I had all these funny ideas that it would fail again, and I was prepared for the worst, but at least it showed that the community really does have something other places don't. Who would have though Gmail would have been so effective? 32 emails in one week! (Even if it does classify some as junk :P) I'm glad that I've been appointed after a nail biting and some might call, decision changing RFA, but if you ever need anything, just get in touch. The very best of luck for 2008 and beyond, Rudget. 16:19, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

AZ census designated places

I'm very new to Wikipedia & am having trouble figuring out the appropriate place for different comments & questions. Sorry if this doesn't belong here.

You seem to be listed as an editor of the page for Census Designated Places in Arizona. I guess I have two questions. One is whether there is a list outside Wikipedia of CDPs. I haven't been able to find one. The other is why Oro Valley, which was incorporated around 1974, is not listed as a CDP. Since I can't find an independent list (first question), I can't tell if this is a mistake. Thanks.

You are aware that Users are allowed to blank their own pages?

I don't know what User:X3120 said or did to get blocked, but it does seem like he's being harassed for doing something he has the right to do. In addition I looked at some of his contributions and this all started when someone apparently incorrectly tagged him for vandalism which it looks like he reverts quite frequently.Awotter (talk) 04:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Of course I am aware of this. Thanks though. All I did was put a brief stop to the reverting of the block notice on the user's talk page. --Kukini hablame aqui 05:45, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
My apologies, I was trying to sort out what had happened. Some of the other admin action against the user seemed hasty, it does appear the incivility only occurred after he was repeatedly told incorrectly that user couldn't blank his own user talk page and it was reverted several times by the same admin. I posted my thoughts at AN/I. Thank you.Awotter (talk) 06:40, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

3rr and edit war by user Recury

User: Recury has started an edit war over a category added on the Aphex Twin page and has been repeatedly trying to edit this category into the article for over one week. There's no clear consensus supporting his edit war, yet he continues to edit claiming he is reverting a vandalism attempt. One user warned him on his talk page February 6th that persisting could earn him a 3rr ban yet he has persisted despite everyone else. I am a little angry because this behaviour is disruptive. I've tried to encourage people to aim to improve the article rather than edit war to no success. According to Recury's talk page, you have banned him for 24 hours once before for 3rr where he ignored everyone and continued to edit war. This user has not improved his behaviour since then. Please help to stop this disruption if you have free time. Joyrex (talk) 18:19, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Affinion Group Article Edits

Affinion Group Wikipedia article Kukini,

I appeal to your judgment regarding the edits to the Wikipedia article for Affinion Group. I appealed to Vary stating that the previous posts to this page were obvious negative attacks designed to hurt or take revenge on this company. The principle of the Wikipedia site is to offer neutral point of view and usable information for Wikipedia readers. There is nothing in the following information pulled from the NPOV page of the site that states that Wikipedia can be used as a complaints board or a vehicle to cause damage to individuals or companies. I explained to Vary that the company is no longer a part of the Cendant conglomerate that was the force behind the negative experiences some people had with products and services offered. The history section of the article show clearly that there is a history with Cendant and that should be sufficient. Affinion is under new ownership (Apollo Management) and has dramatically changed it's business model and no longer participate in any of the practices that the complaints site. Affinion should be allowed to stand on it's own merits. Thanks for your consideration.

Neutral point of view is a fundamental Wikipedia principle. NPOV is absolute and non-negotiable.

For article specific questions or discussions on NPOV please go to the Neutral POV notice board.

All Wikipedia articles and other encyclopedic content must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), representing fairly, and as far as possible without bias, all significant views that have been published by reliable sources. This is non-negotiable and expected on all articles, and of all article editors. For guidance on how to make an article conform to the neutral point of view, see the NPOV tutorial; for examples and explanations that illustrate key aspects of this policy, see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/FAQ.

Wikipedia:Neutral point of view is one of Wikipedia's three core content policies. The other two are Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research. Jointly, these policies determine the type and quality of material that is acceptable in Wikipedia articles. Because the policies are complementary, they should not be interpreted in isolation from one another, and editors should try to familiarize themselves with all three. The principles upon which these policies are based are non-negotiable and cannot be superseded by other policies or guidelines, or by editors' consensus. Their policy pages may be edited only to improve the application and explanation of the principles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shearwater63 (talkcontribs)

Doujinshi citation.

The cited Mark McLelland article on 'the bulk of yaoi manga in Japan is doujinshi'.

I read this article, and I can't help but notice that while the article was uploaded with a recent date, many of the subjects he speaks of is still dated, in the text of the article, as mid-to-late 90's; just before the pro-BL publishing zenith in Japan. The actual citation used says At present, the majority of yaoi manga are produced by amateur women fans either as dōjinshi (fanzines) or on the Internet. There are now so many amateur yaoi titles, and such is Japanese women’s interest in them, that special editions of general manga and animation magazines often bring out ‘boys’ love’ specials.

He follows that up with talk of a 1999 collection to prove his point. Can you see what I mean, by dated?

It looks like the Mark McLelland piece was updated for the web, to include the Biblos Bankruptcy of 2006, and to update info on the licensing boom in the states--however, much of his article is still talking about the Japanese scene...circa the 90's. Since the late 90's boom, things have changed. Most notable, the pro 'BL' publishing scene which clearly out-produced the amateur scene. ^_^ Not trying to bring trouble, but that was my reason for asking for a citation check.

The IP 64.113.191.30 belongs to a school. You may notice I'm using that IP, because I'm currently AT school. ;) Anyone using this IP, without being logged in, is most-likely vandalizing Wikipedia. I have seen the report a user page, but it doesn't really seem to cover this. I also saw that one of the points to take notice of was that a user can't be blocked indefinitely, due to being able to change IPs. However, in this case, they wouldn't be changing IPs, since they are high school students who only know how to vandalize. This IP should be permanently blocked from editing Wikipedia, unless the user logs in, like I obviously have. King Rhyono (talk) 14:41, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

referencing

I've wanted to ask something for a long time: why the insistence on referencing everything? In most encyclopedias, articles are contributed by recognized experts and it's assumed their word is good. I think if a contributor is a recognized expert – say, for example, Werner von Braun wants to write about the V2 rockets fired from White Sands in the 1950s – then there's less need for referencing. Not, noItalic text need, just, lessItalic text need. Of course, this would require that such experts be willing to sign their names to things, but for most academics, that's going to be a plus rather than a minus. In other words, I find it disturbing that so many pages, including some really good ones, have been marked for deletion or destruction just because someone thinks they need more references, when perhaps they don't. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Theonemacduff (talkcontribs) 07:56, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello I saw your edit on psychology page, regarding citation needed for my paragraph addition dated I am new to Wikipedia, so have not attempted to do a citation yet. A question to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pdf

Hi Kukini,

thank you for your friendly welcome to Wikipedia on my user Page (User:Ph wiki edit)! Yes, you where right, there seems to be a problem, I can't quite understand.

The above quoted page contains external links (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pdf#External_links). I am trying to add the URL (http://www.webpdf.net) to our own website to that list. I think that the URL has value to people and there are absolutely no strings attached. The website is free, there is no registration, nothing. It provides an online conversion capability so no software installation is necessary to create PDFs. People use the service after seeing the link in the Wiki Document and seem happy. But the link is constantly deleated, being defined as "Spam" as "Shareware", etc. The page shows a link to Adobe (commercial software), Docudesk (dito) and many more. Our conversion page offers the worldwide community a place to convert a single document without having to buy anything, without the need to install software. It offers a service. Off course... we make money selling software, but this portal is just a demonstration to the load capabilities and stability of our software. No more. The more people use it, the better.

Why would the Wikipedia community not want that link as a part of this document? It would be great, if you can help me understand or... if you agree with me, that the link maybe is a valuable addition... if you could add the link to the document.

Thanks very much and the best regards from Germany Ph wiki edit (talk) 11:05, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Peter (or "Ph wiki edit"...)
