Hi! Probably the easiest sections to help out with are News & Notes, In the News or the Discussion report. Everything is coordinated in the newsroom: Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/Newsroom. There are redlinks under "regular features" for drafting those sections for the upcoming week. For N&N and ITN, we keep an eye on the tip line, the mailing lists, and other places where news might be announced or discussed. If there is a tip on the tipline that seems appropriate for any of the sections, you can simply take it and write it up into a short item and post it to the story draft. Follow along with the style of previous pieces for guidance. If you are interested in working on the discussion report (which always needs writers) I usually look at the centralized discussion template and the list of rfcs (and the village pump) for items to include.

If there's something else you'd rather do, just let me or ragesoss know. There's features & admins, the tech section, and we're looking for book reviews too. Dedicated longer stories on topics of interest are also welcome. Thanks for volunteering! -- phoebe / (talk to me) 07:21, 27 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
