Photos

In particular, it is clear that File:Ley Abbott Farmer.jpg was taken from http://www.liberal.org.au/news.php?Id=4714 As the other photos you uploaded lack metadata and are unusually small for self-made photos taken close to their subject, it appears that you lifted them from the internet as well. Further, the pictures, that I took, of Bronwyn Bishop, Alex Hawke, Kevin Anderson, Andrew Humphries and the two first mentioned above, do not, thats do not, violate any copyright guidelines and should be put back due to they were removed on a basis of nothing, and, further, were uploaded in the same way as before, without the dang data. If you took it yourself then why did it not have camera metadata? See e.g. File:St_Andrews_Road.jpg, a photo I took in Singapore - if you look at the bottom there's an entire section telling you what model of camera I used to take it, what automatic settings it used and even the fact I edited it in Photoshop Elements afterwards. I would really like to see better images on Wikipedia for politicians - indeed, last time I was in Canberra I had a meeting or two trying to achieve exactly that end, and a few months ago I explained in detail to another user how to get releases from PR people for the politicians - but we must do this the right way. If you're a staffer then you should also have an email address (Whether it is the liberal.org.au or tonyabbott.com.au). Email OTRS (See: COM:OTRS which has the info needed) proving that your staff email address (don't worry as this will not be made public), that you indeed take them. You Australians are really arrogant and problematic you know that -not signialling anyone out- I'm a sock am I? Reading two comments on jpgordon's and Orderinchaos's talk pages it shows very wiered trends that deserve consideration like Im capitalist88 or watchover Im fucking American... employed on cross pacific relations, I live in the USA but am employed in Australia for three years till 2012. WTF, Im supposed to be someone that makes socks or am a sock, after reading what a sock was I was shocked to think that it could be even considered. Answering your questions Bidgee, I dont have a Liberal Party email address or a Tony Abbott email address, I will work for the Liberal Party's members (a large quantity) for 1 1/2 years and then for Labour Party members for the remaining 1 1/2 years. I have asked Tony Abbott's media team place a fair use image to be downloaded on his website. His office has ensured me that it is not copyrighted and may be used by any media, website or organisation whilst it appears as his offical photograph. Im writing for more of an opinion that for an answer, I need someone to clarify the events of which my indefinate block took place.

I was accused and blocked by User:Nick-D for uploading images that I have taken but to his standard are inappropriate. I was first asked an appropriate question from Nick-D regarding as to why the images have no meta data. Fair question, give the man an answer as I was taught. Although within eight seconds I was blocked by the same user. Within eight seconds the administrator had typed the template, reason for block and had fourty eight suplementary words to compound why I had been blocked. It took him eight seconds until he found an image on the internet that had been uploaded from the parliamentary intranet into a policy media announcement. Within eight seconds I had been blocked for life, given eight seconds to explain clearly the images origion and meta data. So I would like someone to please read over my eight seconds worth to clarify why my eight seconds worth of why the photographs contain no meta data.

'The journey of the Photographs", By User:K-Mac: The photos were taken over the a few weeks and gradually uploaded onto the parliamentary intranet. From there the photographs were wired through the system to the media department where they were photoshopped and removed from an image document into a blank document. The images were than wired back to the picture catalogue where I downloaded them onto the office computer, uploaded them into my email account onto a Pdf than saved on my home computer. For there I uploaded them onto Wikipedia. Through this journey the photgraphs had been through many systems, changed from the original, -uploaded into a blank document- than onto wikipedia. The reason for there being no meta data is because they were removed from the original file and placed into a dang Pdf. Is there a Wikipedia policy that every image requires meta data?.

The images are clearly not violating any copyright, predominantly because I took them and there is no solid block infringing proof that says I didn't, none. The fact that they have been photoshopped I hope is understandable for each photographs individual size. After finding that I had been blocked, I naturally contested it because it felt unjust. The unblock was declined by User:jpgordon for not mattering, I am a sockpuppet of a banned user. What the? I became confrontational, as after reading what a sock was was upset because there was no checkuser, no proof, nothing. They determined that I was either User:Watchover or User:Capitalist88 without a check user, using there educated guess. I have done my research, Capitalist88 was blocked for uploading an image of guess who.... Tony Abbott onto Wikipedia, almost two months ago. Capitalist88 seems to be a real peace of crap in my opinion, but wait, two users determined I could be he/she. The other User:Watchover also is in the same boat, but was blocked for sockpupperting then became a sock of another user? What is this checkuser stuff about, it doesn't make sence. Round and round and round, but Im determined not to get caught in that trap. I read the assume good faith policy, it doesn't look as if any of it has been taken into account. Please consider.

My point is, what do I have to do to overcome this block and hold back this dribble of me being a sock? Thank you K-Mac (talk) 07:02, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

You were blocked for blatant copyright violations as you had uploaded photos taken from the internet under a false claim that you were the copyright holder and were releasing them into the public domain (aside from the one linked above, I've since found several more of the photos on Tony Abbott's Flickr stream where they're labeled as being copyright). The photo of Abbott you provide a link to above is on a website which states its "© Tony Abbott MHR 2008 ", so it's not a public domain image. Please note that even if you did take those photos, the Liberal Party states that it owns the copyright on them when it published them, and only they can release them into the public domain. Blatant, I ignored my eight seconds of warning? False, Im working on proving you wrong, and I hope you will be able to muster the courage to give me an apology when that time comes. Yes, yes as I mention, Intranet, I have no control over them once placed into the parliamentary intranet. Also, find them. Call the number, I stood infront of one of his media staffers and was told "All media, website and Organistation can at will download that photograph" without violating any copyright call them on the number above. Once they set my email address up, and all photographs are released with my unconditional approval to be used as fair use images here on wikipedia I will accept your apology. Stop going on about any 8 second warning. In order to protect Wikipedia from copyright issues, you don't need to get any warning whatsoever. The key point for you to get an unblock is to actually PROVE that you are the owner of the pictures. That does not mean simply stating it, it means proving it. Like the block reason says, Wikipedia is NOT a website where you can store images found on Google and claim it as your own. There are many reasons for that. The images you have uploaded where protected by copyright laws and they cannot be used on Wikipedia for other places than on their own article under fair use.
