Hello, Kelseacumbie and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Dr Aaij (talk) 16:27, 5 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Bibb Grave bridge

edit

Hi! I just wanted to give you a few notes - the article needs to have in-line citations, as this will help show which source backs up which claim. Also, the article needs more sourcing to help show why it's notable, as bridges aren't inherently notable for being built. It being used for filming can help, but this by itself won't really make the bridge notable - you need coverage in independent and reliable sources to establish this. Something you may want to look for would be to see if the bridge has been declared an official national or historic landmark, as this would make the bridge notable. Thanks for creating Bibb Graves bridge.

A New Page Patroller Boleyn just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

This has been tagged for two issues.

Fallon Taylor

edit

Hi! I have some notes for this article:

  • IMDb is not considered to be a reliable source on Wikipedia, as anyone can edit this site and either change or contribute information. This doesn't mean that the information on there for Taylor is wrong, but there have been so many issues with IMDb that it just isn't reliable. Similarly, PersonBio is not going to be seen as a reliable source because we have no way of knowing how much of the information is correct, where they got their information from, what type of editorial process is in place, or even who writes the material. The site has literally no information about themselves or their process from what I can see.
  • There needs to be more sourcing in the article as a whole, as the coverage here is so slim. Any information that isn't backed up with a reliable source can be challenged, such as the claims of specific roles - particularly the claim with Two and a Half Men. Be cautious with claims in general and always make sure to check them out. For example, the claim as it's stated in the article make it seem like it's a large role, but from what I could find it looks like it was a one episode appearance and I can't really tell exactly how big the appearance was. It may be that she was a girlfriend or an episode or a lady friend that was in the background. It's why it's usually just easier to list specific part names and with TV series, specific episode names and/or numbers.

The article has some issues, so I'm not entirely sure if it will make it through DYK. As far as the hook goes, it needs to have the source added to it. You may also want to look for a catchier hook, such as

"...that when barrel racer Fallon Taylor was about eight years old, she joined the Women's Professional Rodeo Association? WPRA"

That may sound a bit catchier since it's an eight year old doing rodeo, a sport known for being at least a little dangerous at any given time. I'll ping your instructor (Dr Aaji) to see if he has any suggestions or input. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:39, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Incomplete DYK nomination

Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Fallon Taylor at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; if you would like to continue, please link the nomination to the nominations page as described in step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 16:17, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Fallon Taylor

edit

Thanks for creating Fallon Taylor.

A New Page Patroller Rosguill just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

Overall the article looks good. It could use some more sources that aren't explicitly rodeo-oriented to better establish notability. Additionally, the section about Taylor's clothing line appears to include some information without attribution that is possibly original research; please either provide citations or remove the content that cannot be supported by sources. Finally, the article needs some minor copyediting for grammar.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Creating Rodeo Biographies

edit

Hi, I wish I had seen this biography sooner. It could have been added to the Women in Red project. But it has to be added the month it was created. Anyway, the main type of articles I create are rodeo ones. And I have done four barrel racing biographies. In fact, I created a guide for creating rodeo biographies and it mainly focuses on barrel racing right now. It's at User:Dawnleelynn/Creating Rodeo Biographies and is also featured on the Women in Red rodeo page. You might find it useful. You can also look at the articles I created as well. There's Mary Burger, Charmayne James, and Mary Walker (rodeo). The fourth I am about to move from userspace into mainspace later today. It's a shorter one so it might be nicer to follow. Charmayne James is shorter too and is also a "good" class article. It's at User:Dawnleelynn/Wanda Harper Bush and then will be at Wanda Harper Bush after I move it. I also can assist you if you need it, just ask here (I've watchlisted your page) or at my talk page: User talk:Dawnleelynn. Happy Trails!
