Sinarisasi - not a user page

Howdy, I wondered if you knew more about Sinarisasi and Talk:Sinarisasi? These are not where user pages should be; these are where encyclopedia articles should be. I tried to move them to User:Sinarisasi, but there is no such user name registered. I marked the pages for deletion, but please remove the tag if you know who this person is. Speedy deletion of Template:Malaysian collaboration nominee

A tag has been placed on Template:Malaysian collaboration nominee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:48, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

{{transclusionless}} allows for people to see that there be a reason that the template isn't currently used anywhere. Currently, there is no good way of indicating that a template may be intentionally without active use. Using it will (hopefully) avoid any future taggings of a specific template as "unused." Cheers. --MZMcBride (talk) 04:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Transliteration

Forgive my perhaps foolish curiosity, but is the transliteration of your name into greek letters in your signature based on some specific dialect or time period? I ask because it doesn't match the usual relationships I see :P Skittle (talk) 13:52, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Ah, I see :) Was just asking because I'm often surprised on here to learn how complicated things really are, as compared to how I learnt them. I doubt the word means anything: it's something along the lines of Hkeh-ooeh-phutgeh. Had half wondered if it was some multilingual pun that I'd missed :P Skittle (talk) 02:14, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: Pensiangan unopposed

On the Nomination Day for the 2008 Malaysian general elections (Feb 24), the returning officer faxed in 3 nominations for the Pensiangan seat to the SPR. It was announced at first that there was a 3-cornered fight. When SPR re-examined the details, it was only later found out in the afternoon that the other 2 candidates had submitted their nominations late, but the returning officer had mistakenly accepted and endorsed them. (Please note that the SPR director himself had said that it was a late confirmation as being reported in The Star) So going by the direct cause towards the issue, the announcing of the Pensiangan BN candidate being unopposed is due to the mistake of the officer itself, and not exactly the late submittal of nominations, which is only an indirect cause. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Caiweijie (talkcontribs) 06:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Jules Stephens

Hi, Kawaputra, sorry about the delay in getting back to you - a bit of a coincidence as I've been in New Zealand. What a shame I didn't get your message before I left as I was at both the National Library in Wellington and in the very good WW2 section and library in Auckland Museum, poking about for info. (Well, I was supposed to be on holiday but couldn't resist a bit of Batu Lintanging.)

Before I left I lent a lot of my books on Borneo in WW2 to a friend, and I haven't got these back yet so I can't do a check, but offhand I'd say the name doesn't ring a bell. I do have a very bad memory though ... I shall definitely have a good root around for you when I am reunited with my books. Glad to see Albert Kwok and the Kinabalu Guerillas are red-linked - are you planning to tackle them? All the best Jasper33 (talk) 12:49, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

I've found a short ref to him in Ring of Fire: Australian Guerilla Operations Against the Japanese in World War II by Dick Horton, 1983:
Jules Stephen (sic), formerly a sergeant of the Volunteer Force, was adjutant of the guerillas and from the beginning was largely responsible for their organization. (p.60)
One of my books has a really good section on the Kinabalu Guerillas, but sod's law it's one of the ones I've lent out. I'll get back to you though, promise. Jasper33 (talk) 13:11, 16 March 2008 (UTC)e home-grown, as a
The Kinabalu Guerilla movement was entirely home-grown. The guerillas are mentioned in the book as part of the background to the Australian SRD/Z Force operations there - the SRD contacted the KG and advised on the timing of the uprising, but in effect the KG operated almost entirely independently of the SRD. The guerillas were all Sabahans, a mixture of mostly Bajaus, ethnic Chinese and Sikhs. There is quite a lot of detail in Horton's book, if you can get hold of a copy. Hi Kawaputra,

Thanks for redoing the Keadilan logo image. Unfortunately, the dimensions and ratio do not conform to the standard logo as provided by the party's constitution. I will be reverting back to original image for the time being. Thanks for the effort though. Best regards. - Bob K 02:42, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Re: BN & DAP logos, I think it would be best to contact their HQs. As far as I know, only KeADILan has a logo that bears the ratio of a flag. Sorry :( - Bob K 06:44, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Hi Kawaputra,

File:Barisan Nasional.PNG

The logo of Barisan Nasional that you uploaded has a free image claim. However, that is the logo of Barisan and it has a copyright, so I have reverted to the original logo for the time. Feel free to upload it back if you have information to suggest that Barisan has released their logo into the public domain.

Singapore Airport

In every airport than Singapore's, they put only Singapore instead of Singapore-Changi'. The reason I ask for because there are more than one airport operational in Singapore. Example.Singapore-Seletar. They did put the Seletar Airport but Changi they did not. I hope it would change later. Thank you. User:Amir Hamzah 2008 11:40, 26 May 2008 (UTC).

Hi Kawaputra. Thanks for the info on Jules Stephesn - I shall look out that book when I have a moment, as it sounds very interesting. Why did he fall out with his father, I wonder? I'm not in favour of commenced date

As my heading says, I am not in favour of commencement date as they can lead to a sticky argument on several occasions. And, what about those who commenced at certain time and decided to pull out a few months later, and later a few years wanted to service the destination again? I vote for a simple airline/destination/terminal or airline/destination/remark (for hubs or other info) --Zack2007 (talk) 13:42, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Request to move article Mustapha bin Harun incomplete

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Mustapha bin Harun to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 05:39, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Fuad Stephens

Hmmm...Thanks for pointing it out. Is it possible that the title is listed in google books--using keywords of "fuad stephens" with japanese doesnt reveal any sources--I think it would not be advisebale to quote adubious facts as per wWikipedia: Cite your sources. Usually credible books tend to avoid dubious statements--unless it is an universal fact that his backgrounds are of much obscurity like people like Kim Jong-il.

Anyway, this is where I obtained my source from: [2].

Fuad stephens New zealander searcgh results: [3] ""Australian search results: [4]

Perhaps if you might run through this, [5], there are sources only stating that he is of Australian & Kadazan ancestry with a tone of ascertainty. Anyway, would it be good if you might be possible to back up your source with Peterwood's relations with Stephens when he drafted the Bio, or other sources which backs his (Japanese?) ancestry? I think it will be good if you might want to defend ur stand--but all the sources that I see solely mention his Kadazan-Australian parentage.

Mr Tan (talk) 16:11, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

However, based on this source, [6]--Faridah Stephens, daughter of Rahimah and Fuad--is part Japanese. I think the Japanese pat comes from Rahimah, not Fuad. Mr Tan (talk) 16:28, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
