2011 Pan American Games

Do you plan on helping out in October with the Pan American Games? Intoronto1125 (talk) 18:16, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Ok I was thinking of splitting up the 36 sports among the people that wanted to contribute. Intoronto1125 (talk) 20:34, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Re: Greg Ouellette

Unfortunately, I don't know what should I do? Do it for me, please. PL Alvarez Talk, 13:20, 25 March 2011 [UTC].

Sorry

I added the referee on the introduction in the 2011 Copa del Rey final because the 2010 Copa del Rey final had the referee in the introduction too. I apologise. Qampunen (talk) 19:22, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Grand Prix Hassan

You placed Soeda as the 7th seed in Casablanca which is wrong, i'm just telling you yo double check that is all. Dencod16 (talk) 03:34, 30 March 2011 (UTC) You did you replaced Chardy with Soeda, you can look at the revision history. you can view this (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2011_Grand_Prix_Hassan_II&action=historysubmit&diff=421134327&oldid=420881573) Dencod16 (talk) 23:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

2011 wwhc

left a note for discussion on the 2011 women's world championship, but thought I would ask you directly since you do so much of the work on these pages: does it seem peculiar that the IIHF has stated that Poland is the "gold medal winner" and there is no mention of promotion? Same is true of Belgian demotion. Do you think it means something?18abruce (talk) 22:49, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps it is just an error. However I believe that no one will be demoted from division 4 so that it will contain 6 teams next year. It would appear that Estonia should have been at that level and did not particpate.18abruce (talk) 00:14, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

RE:Challengers

Hello!

Because the official site contained valuable information, that could fill up an article or is enough at least to start with. I don't see the point of "being late" in providing informations on wiki while in the mean time they are available on official sources/websites. And it's only 2 weeks before its start (16 days to be precise) but I don't think it makes any difference, since the entry list is published and venue is fixed, dates/schedules are on, etc.. You can not logically set a rule under these circumstances for articles to be halted. E.g. if I'm a guy who want to visit that tournament I probably want to read about it (and about the players I can see there play) in Wikipedia - top 5 most visited hit in Google - BEFORE I buy my tickets and travel there, which doesn't take only 2-3 days. So I encourage you to create a tournament article whenever sufficient reliable info is out there.

Cheers Lajbi Holla @ meCP 12:50, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

It's okay. I also made the three 250 tournaments following the Barcelona 500 so I thought it would be fine to update the Challenger Tour as well. I created one "far" team tournament too, the 2011 Power Horse World Team Cup since two line-ups are announced and the rest of the nations are also known by now. In case you want to watchlist them or add some info later... Lajbi Holla @ meCP 13:08, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
Yes. Seeding are probably due to change and I expect some withdrawals as well. Lajbi Holla @ meCP 13:12, 7 April 2011 (UTC)

Table tennis WikiProject coordination

2011 India Super Series

Hello Kante. Sorry, but I reverted your edit. I was going to copy and paste the Women's bracket into the Mixed. I find it easier to just fill in the spaces that way. Once I'm done I'll revert the Women's Doubles back to your layout showing the byes. Also, I noticed that you started abbreviated the first names of athletes like in the Tennis brackets. I believe that is a good idea, but I was wondering if you would consider leaving the full first names in the First Round bracket.--SargentIV (talk) 21:56, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for understanding. I do agree that abbreviating the first names is good so that brackets do not look like a mess. I just think that for the First Round we should include the full name (the exceptions being for athletes like Duanganong Aroonkesorn whose name is too long to fit spelled out). I know this isn't a major issue, but I think it's a good measure to take for clarity.--SargentIV (talk) 00:39, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

IIHF u18

I wanted to update the game details, but could not. I have not been able to access a lot of details from the IIHF sight, I knew the scores and what it meant for the tournment progress from the Russian (I think) broadcast, sorry if it caused confusion. I was going to leave a note but I see that I did not. Keep up the good work by the way.18abruce (talk) 21:15, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

The IIHF page is my homepage, I am a very obsessive international hockey fan, I just could not access or navigate most of the site several times over the past two days.18abruce (talk) 21:26, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
FYI the issue was with my browser, really really embarassing. Sorry again. Curious if the strange criticism of 2011 men's worlds was because of the same issue (settings of newly installed ie9). Truly bizarre comments there, keep up the good work, I really appreciate the work you do.18abruce (talk) 23:16, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes I was referring to the discussion section. It is not likely that I will spend much time editing the current championships, I am a very slow editor and not very confident with game summaries. I prefer to observe and correct small details, I signed up here primarily because I wanted to improve the historical IIHF u20 pages--been watching and keeping track of details for 30 years.18abruce (talk) 00:09, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
I appreciate the sentiment, thank you. The other problem I have is this: my kids don't always let me at the computer, all girls, no hockey fans.18abruce (talk) 00:36, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, very good idea. And my teenager has been spying and says she is ready to go to Europe right now.:)18abruce (talk) 01:12, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Apologies

I added it early so that people could check the initial line-ups. I will add the report once the match starts, then. Sorry! :) Qampunen (talk) 18:42, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

The line-ups I put down are the confirmed ones. Keita and Maxwell are starting at the bench. Qampunen (talk) 18:45, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Don't worry :) Good job with the picture! Qampunen (talk) 18:47, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

I just deleted the crushing of the Copa del Rey trohpy which is totally irrelevant. Qampunen (talk) 20:06, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Using Bleacher Report

Hey, thanks for your revert on the José Juan Barea article where I referenced to Bleacher Report. I had never seen that website, so I wasn't fully aware of the nature of its content and its reliability. Thanks again! I'll keep my eyes more open for similar situations the next time. IIHF 2011

It still seems inappropriate to me to put them in the Qualification Round table until their record is finalized. But I'm not going to get into a revert war over it. MrArticleOne (talk) 20:38, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I see what you mean, and it is kind of an unusual situation, but I still wouldn't do it until their Preliminary Round play was over. MrArticleOne (talk) 20:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
If for no other reason than to prevent the inevitable editor coming along and updating their record in both tables after the Slovenia game on Tuesday. MrArticleOne (talk) 20:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
In my experience, it's something that people struggle with. Although it is fair to note that I've noticed the problem more typically in articles for basketball tournaments than ice hockey. MrArticleOne (talk) 20:48, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
For all I know, USA really is 8th, but there was no reference or citation for putting the USA in 8th place. I'm not saying it's wrong, I guess I just don't know how to tell. MrArticleOne (talk) 19:34, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
I have no idea what USA's position is! That's the thing, what's the source for that standings table? I have no idea what USA's position is. I took it out because I didn't see a source for it but someone put it back in. I just don't know what is right. MrArticleOne (talk) 20:00, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

You can *barely* see that it's italic. I know it hasn't been done in the whole time, anyway (except the one time when I did - decluding this). But have it your way. --Diblidabliduu (talk) 18:37, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

That's still just your opinion because I can't (so I guess you're either used to it or using a totally different font). I will not start an argument war about this so I don't feel like we should continue this matter further. --Diblidabliduu (talk) 18:46, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
