Speedy deletion nomination of Michael burks

A tag has been placed on Michael burks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. editHi. There's a copyright notice at the bottom of http://www.reverbnation.com/michaelburks, so there is a copyright problem with what you've copied several times to Michael Burks. Please don't post this copyrighted material again: Wikipedia has to keep strict control of plagiarizing copyrighted material for legal reasons. Please read WP:IOWN for info on how to release copyrighted material for use on Wikipedia. However, you've indicated in the talk page for that article that you work for Alligator Records: this constitutes a WP:Conflict of interest for this subject, and it's not a good idea for you to be creating articles about your company, as it will be almost impossible for you to be objective about the subject. If I include a note at the beginning of the article that I donate stating...

Would the article be permitted? I was instructed to read the WP:IOWN info and from what I can surmise, none of the content that I wanted to donate seemed subjective. It's factual background info.

- No. Our copyright policy is there to protect your rights (and the rights of all the other copyrighted content out there). You could place those statements on the source website (as IOWN says), or email the foundation (as IOWN says), or rewrite the information in such a way that it isn't patently obvious that the text is the same. I agree, factual information cannot be copyrighted. "Mr. Burks was born on January 1 1980", etc etc. However if the text beyond that point is the same we start to run into issues. To your last point: I agree, but if the choice comes to a plagarized article or no article I'll take no article. Without outside confirmation that you have the authority to release that text, you could just be some good intentioned fan trying to infringe on Mr. Burk's and his recording company's rights.
