Speedy deletion nomination of User:JoeyJet/sandbox edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:JoeyJet/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.nytimes.com/1972/04/17/archives/george-baldanzi-of-textile-union-president-sirice-1958-diesi-began.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of File:George Baldanzi.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:George Baldanzi.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Hi, like I said on my talk page, the image should generally be free. This image is owned by Getty (see the watermark) so Wikipedia policy doesn't consider the fair use claim to be valid. Like I said before, the people at Commons:Help Desk should be able to help you understand what would be needed if you have images that are encyclopedic that you have that can be uploaded under a free licenses (because you own the copyright). File permisions edit

Hi Joey, I'll send this to you via email as well, but another user has raised concerns about the files that you uploaded about George on Wikimedia Commons. I've tagged them with a wrong license tag. You should email permissions-commons@wikimedia.org to verify with them that you own the copyright to the files so that they can be used on Wikipedia. DYK for George Baldanzi edit

On 29 June 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article George Baldanzi, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that American trade unionist George Baldanzi worked out of Greensboro, North Carolina, as part of Operation Dixie because it was close to many textile plants? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/George Baldanzi. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, George Baldanzi), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
