To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Great beginning

Hi Jim,

Nice work on the Sarah Koenig article!

If you're interested in taking it a few steps further —

  • Consider filling in a few more parameters for the infobox, such as year of birth or adding an image if you can find one that meets WP's image copyright criteria.
  • WP's main page features facts (Did you know?) from newly added articles. We'd need a "hook" or two to nominate it. Let me know if you are interested, as there's a short window for these nominations after the article is first posted: check WP:DYK. Cheers! — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 22:55, 5 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I sent an email out to her publicity contact to see if I can get some more information to add to the page. Cheers! Jimdoughertyonamission (talk) 00:15, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Good. If you are not the copyright owner of an image of Koenig, it might be easier for her publicity contact (who should be the copyright owner) to upload one directly to Wikimedia using the directions here. If you don't own the copyright, it's possible to get permission in writing and jump through a documentation hoop, but there may be a backlog of weeks for that approval, which could mean missing the DYK deadline. I have this talk page on my watchlist, so just keep me posted here. — Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 00:55, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I got a response back from Sarah Koenig's publicity contact and she indicated that she may not be able to provide additional information or a photo for the page because of her current commitments. I know you had this post on your watchlist and wanted to let you know that it may stand as it is. Thank you for all of your work to enhance the page - you made my first contribution to Wikipedia quite frictionless! Jimdoughertyonamission (talk) 00:52, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
