Spiderman

I apologize if I was being uncivil, that was not my intention. I was simply asking about editing protocol. Thank for the information. Sorry about where the edit ended up, no idea why it was at the top of the page and not the bottom. Also, Ultimate Spider-man is a completely different Marvel continuity than the 616 universe so the intelligence and strength levels are different. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.190.44.153 (talkcontribs)

Obviously, I am behind the times. I don't think I have read a Spiderman comic since 1966! One suggestion: cite the comic directly instead of the current somewhat round-about method. Maybe use http://marvel.wikia.com/Amazing_Spider-Man_Vol_1_588 directly? I'll leave the decision to you. BTW: no offense taken, just attempting to answer your question. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:32, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Forgot to add: Looks good! Jim1138 (talk) 07:33, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Your advice will be taken, thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.190.44.153 (talk) 07:38, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for removing the IP editor's comments about trolling on my talk page, but I've reverted your edit. For the moment, I'd prefer they remain there, until the larger issue is resolved. Grazie! --Drmargi (talk) 07:56, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

"Corrected" list of Arthur characters; the ass was fat

Jim,

Your feelings do not come into play when it comes to facts. If you did even one iota of research (instead of appealing to your inner feminine emotions,) you would quickly find that Sue Ellen Armstrong's ass is indeed fat. Despite your claims of being not constructive, the reality is that the ass was fat. Take a look at all of the attempted corrections to the wiki page's clear omission to the ass being fat. These are important details, Jim. Details that information suppressors such as yourself should leave as is. There are nearly 90 reported cases of "vandalism," all of which points to the irrefutable fact that the ass was fat. Jim, it is time to stop waging war on freedom and accept that the ass was fat. I'll be correcting your little blunder this time, please cease this personal war on fat asses.

Regards, the ass was fat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.74.55.37 (talk) 13:54, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

ISM

Can you double check my edits on International School Manila? I copyedited the controversy information and merged it with history as a whole, trying not to drop any important information. Regards, CMD (talk) 08:55, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Looks pretty good. Sorry for taking so long getting back to you. Got an email from David Toze of ISM. Jim1138 (talk) 18:23, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
I don't even know how I would email you! If David Toze is alleging that other parties have used that page to promote their own agenda, he's probably right. Still, unsure of what to do more than what I've already done. If there's still a problem content/notability-wise, perhaps it's worth asking for advice from one of the experienced schools editors, such as User:Kudpung. CMD (talk) 04:53, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Although coincidentally! CMD (talk) 05:05, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
I sent Toze an email concerning COI, and suggested leaving a proposed change in [[talk:International School Manila|talk:ISM]] and recommended acknowledging his COI. Also deleted some attacks on talk:ISM targeting Toze.
If you want others to be able to email you, go to My preferences/User profile near the bottom enter your email if you have not already and click the "Enable e-mail from other users" box. Save the preferences. I am not sure if you need to be able to receive email before you can send email. Sending email or replying via email reveals your email btw. Go to a user page or user talk page and under Toolbox, there is an "E-mail this user" link. Jim1138 (talk) 05:29, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
A very apt removal. Their post on the talkpage was quite well worded and reasonable, in my opinion, especially for a new user who had such negative attacks right where they were posting. I can not see any Email link, so I assume that I have to activate it before I can send. The things you learn, even after a couple of years on wikipedia. CMD (talk) 06:58, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

List of Highest Grossing Bollywood Movies

My edits are as pointless as rest of the list. I have never seen anything as ridiculous as that list. We might as well tell everyone the importance of being the 63, 97 1024882th highest grossing movies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.73.2 (talk) 05:32, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks

Many thanks, Jim1138, for protecting my user pages from vandalism. Pinethicket (talk) 08:07, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

You are welcome! That was clever, putting a redirect to the main page. Clicking on the page went to the main page with no way to go back to the redirect page. I "edited" my user talk page then change the Jim1138 in the URL to the page where I wanted to remove the redirect. Then it allowed me to remove the redirect. Jim1138 (talk) 08:11, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Sorry about that

I was only trying to get a screen shot of "my version" of the topsolid wiki for humorous purposes. I understand that this is not very mature... I'm sorry I was going to change it back when I was done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.112.231.194 (talk) 10:08, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Ttguy. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made to Vagbhatananda Gurudevar, because it didn't appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Ttguy (talk) 12:08, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Seriously?

You got the wrong person, from what I can see AGAIN. I didn't edit any page, don't come writing on people's stuff when you're wrong. Get yourself right before you go fix someone else. Not only that but when you came to my page it was about some dude I never even heard of, seriously? How do you get that mixed up? I don't mean to be rude but that's just how this is coming out because that really disturbed my mood. -_- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twilightcity (talkcontribs) 07:26, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Given the number of edits that I made in the last few days, I have no idea who you are. Another hint might be helpful... Jim1138 (talk) 07:33, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Edit:
You said you reverted a edit on a guy named Thomas Friedman I believe, if you're just busy then I apologize for my rudeness earlier, but dude check who you send to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twilightcity (talkcontribs) 07:44, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are referring to. Perhaps this old edit in December 2011? [1] and the warning to User_talk:71.251.62.56? I don't see anything I have done regarding Thomas Friedman recently. Jim1138 (talk) 07:56, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
That's what I am saying, I just got the message like 30 mins ago,and it told me it was from you. I looked at it and I saw the dates to, then I was like "I didn't even edit Wikipedia last year" That's what I don't understand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twilightcity (talkcontribs) 07:59, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
You likely were assigned a new IP addresss by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). It happens often. Some ISPs reassign more often then others. A previous assignee made that edit last December, I undid his edit and warned him. IP reassignment is generally known to wp:Recent changes patrolers (such as me) and administrators; old warnings are generally not held against someone. Some vandals cause problems, get blocked, change IPs and repeat. Feel free to blank that warning if you would like. An account and user name helps avoid that kind of confusion. Happy editing! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-tailed_black_shark

Water hardness is not measured in pH (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PH) pH is only used to measure how acidic or basic a solution is. Deutsche Härte (°dH), a measurement of hard water is what your are supposed to write on the article. I hope this clarifies the fact that my editing was not vandalism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djalovicar (talkcontribs) 09:16, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

My apology, as there was no edit summary, I assumed that the reference was regarding pH and that the single character edit was vandalism. Jim1138 (talk) 09:22, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Re:

iTunes has never been a reliable source for genres, however. Aside from the fact it is contradicted by every other source out there, I would almost guarantee the record label that releases it chooses the genre to list it under, which is hardly an objective, third-party look at the song. Toa Nidhiki05 17:43, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Yes iTunes doesn't count. Also Jim I think you should apologize to the IP address from what I have seen it is Toa who is doing the reverting the most and the IP address has only done one. That isn't fair to them to accuse them of something they aren't doing and an apology is in order. ^_^ Swifty*talk 17:58, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You stated that on my talk page I was making unconstructive edits and that if I did not stop my editing privileges would be revoked. Admittedly this is true however the example you used: user:SergeCross73 's talk page was incorrect. Sockpuppetry Kurdo77/IP-Adress: 96.255.251.165

Recent RV's on [language] seems to be IP-sockpuppetry. Should we do some investigation on this? --Greczia (talk) 10:17, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Hard to tell as Kurdo777 is only reverting on that page. A look at both edit histories suggests that they are editing different areas at the same time, so unless he is capable of sophisticated multitasking, it seems unlikely. You could open an investigation at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations, but you need to supply good evidence. I suspect it is lacking here. You might want to discuss the problem in talk:Tat language. I would suggest leaving a {{tb|talk:Tat language}} notice in both Kurdo777 and 96.255.251.165 talk pages so they know to respond. Good luck! Jim1138 (talk) 10:34, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Your request to block 24.164.190.130

Hi. I declined your request to block this IP. I couldn't see how any of those edits were vandalism.

Are you sure this person is editing in bad faith and that these edits meet the requirements of WP:VANDAL? Can you clue me in on this one?

Thanks, --A. B. (talkcontribs) 23:30, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

I reverted the IP once. This edit to Dustin Hoffman] (unexplained removal of content) removed a source stating Hoffman was Ukranian then changed Hoffman's background to Russian. A google search seems to return far more hits for "Dustin Hoffman Ukrainian" then "Dustin Hoffman Russian" 4.9 v 1.5 million hits. I suspect a bit of POV pushing. I used wp:Huggle which apparently knew of User talk:SuperMarioMan vand4im template warning and automatically generated the wp:AIN posting. Also, I had previously posted (via Huggle) a request for him to use edit summaries. I actually was not aware of the wp:AIN posting. Jim1138 (talk) 00:07, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
OK, I think I see the problem. I've blocked that IP for 2 weeks and put a list of previously used IPs on the talk page. Next time I suggest you reference that list so that administrators have some context. presumably this person will switch to a new IP somewhere in the Middletown, NY area; when that happens just get him or her blocked at first sight, given this history.
Here's a copy of the IP list you can use in the future:
--A. B. (talkcontribs) 00:10, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
At the bottom of IP talk pages, you'll see links to whois, traceroute, etc. functions. There are two Geolocate links there, too. Your person usually edits using IPs near Middletown, NY -- about 50 miles/80 km north of New York City. He has also edited from a hotel elsewhere and from a mobile phone. --A. B. (talkcontribs) 01:29, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I have copied it to User:Jim1138/24.164.190.130 BLP issue for easy, permanent reference. Jim1138 (talk) 01:36, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Peacemaker67

Just to tell you what happen here. Peacemaker67 is stalk and revert my edits everywhere and he also opened ANI thread against me as part of his personal war against me. But no admin action was taken against me. This threat that he "will shortly report me again for the same behaviour, incivility and failure to comply with pretty much every WP policy he know" show that Peacemaker67 is in personal war against me and this is very against WP civility policy. Look this - [2] - I changed some obvious errors and stupidities on that page but Peacemaker67 returned that back. Maybe he was one who placed such stupidities in that page, I did not check, but what he do here is obvious disruption of Wikipedia. That page speak about government, but Peacemaker67 reverted me and made modifications to infobox so that page is now placed in categories Former countries in the Balkans, States and territories established in 1941 and States and territories disestablished in 1944. This page is about government not about country or state, so he include page into wrong categories. He also include false info that Nedić's Serbia was alternative name of this government. That is totally stupid. Nedić's Serbia was name for territory where this government operated, not name of government itself. You can see sources that refer to Nedić's Serbia as territory not as name for government - [3]. Can this disruption of Peacemaker67 be stopped somehow? Nemambrata (talk) 18:07, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

The two lines I deleted. the first is a false statement ", though her romantic relationship with Branden had already ended,[78]" is slanderous, and does not appear in the book in question. "78. Britting 2004, p. 101" please allow me to delete it. the second line that I deleted is also not true,"Rand underwent surgery for lung cancer in 1974 after decades of heavy smoking.[83]" it supposedly appears in an unauthorized biography emphisis on unauthorized, I cannot find the actual book to see if it actually appears there or not, but it is absoultely not true, Ayn Rand never had cancer at all. www.aynrand.com please allow me to delete it also, thank you for reading. First Cymru / Crossgates Coaches

Please do not amend my edits to the First Cymru and Crossgates Coaches pages. Bus services are not the easiest thing to source due to their constantly changing nature. Please trust that I know what I am doing when I edit these pages. You can see a press release reflecting my changes from the First Cymru website at http://www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/south_west_wales/travel_news/service_updates/?item=5781&conf=0. Crossgates Coaches have ceased to operate local services as of this week so that is my reasoning for removing the table of services, in fact this is referenced in the article by another user! There are no sources to confirm this however, but an enthusiast's Yahoo Group (Welsh Bus News) makes reference to the fact in this post: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/welsh-bus-news/message/26057 Paulravuslanterna (talk) 09:27, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

David DeFeis

Yesterday I edited an article of David DeFeis, I removed his birth of year and now it's back there (and wrong btw). Well I happened to know him (very well) and that he doesn't want to publish his year of birth. I also emailed to him, and like I said.... well, here's the answer:

"All of our birthday information is not for public consumption...whether the date is right or wrong...We are all very private people."

So can you respect his will/wish and remove that year, permanently?
