January 2021 edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

While I have been active in editing the Ripple page and participating in its deletion discussion, I have acted with good intentions, followed Wiki guidelines, and even made a point to strike through and/or clarify when I have made a mistake. I have not behaved in a way that is abusive or vandalizing. Please remove block so I may continue contributing to Wikipedia.

Decline reason:

You are accused of violating WP:SOCK but have not specifically addressed this in your unblock request. Yamla (talk) 19:56, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi Yamla (talk), thank you for the clarification. I did edit the Ripple page unintentionally while not logged in (maybe once?), but went back and added a logged-in signature afterwards to clarify. You can see my edits in the revision history with this username, Jessiemay1984. I have had this username since 2016; you can see my previous Wiki edits/contributions here: my contributions. I have not used any other accounts to edit the Ripple deletion discussion or the Ripple Music page itself. Several years ago I had a different account, 3, but have not used it since 2016 as you will see in that account's history.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 13:25, 28 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi Yamla (talk) I understand that I was blocked for multiple posts on the Ripple page. It was my first time in a deletion discussion and I did not realize users were limited to one Keep statement. When I became aware of that, I struck through my votes and noted that on the talk page. It was not my intent to cause damage or distruption and I will refrain from multiple posts in the future. Jessiemay1984 (talk) 16:36, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Your block is because technical evidence indicates you have used multiple accounts in violation of policy, not for accidentally editing while logged out or writing a "keep" comment multiple times in the deletion discussion. You need to address that in your unblock reason, and make the request from your primary account. See the guide to appealing blocks. — The Earwig (talk) 01:21, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Thank you The Earwig (talk). The sockpuppetry issue is in error. This is my primary Wikipedia account. I have not edited the Ripple page with any other account except for not being logged in. I have not made any edits with my old account, User:Emeraldlady31, since 2016. It has only three edits, as you can see in that page's history. I'm unclear as to what multiple accounts are being referred to in the block. If an admin can clarify what accounts are in question, I can address that in any further unblock requests. That being said, I understand what sockpuppetry is and that it is a violation of Wikipedia's guidelines. I will not engage in it. I would like to be unblocked so that I can make useful and accurate contributions to music articles. Thank you for your consideration. Jessiemay1984 (talk) 14:46, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline; user has appealed to the Arbitration Committee. KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 20:42, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
