Discrepancy on Maximillian Joseph Koeck edit

So there is some confusion, this source states Koeck died in 1898. Sure we got the right guy? — MusikAnimal talk 23:55, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

This article is about the ORIGINAL Max Koeck.

There was then a Max Koeck Jr. who died in 12/31/1983 or 84, I am posting him next.

Nevermind, source was referring to his father =P — MusikAnimal talk 00:02, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ah... you mean Carl Koeck? Jeffryobrien (talk) 00:03, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I have an old political cartoon of him, but I am too new to post photos. Could you grab it and post it up? It is at the link below:

Sure, I'll look into it. Before you start your next article, take a look at WP:YFA, and consider using the article wizard. Make sure you compile a good list of references and reword the information you gather. See WP:REFBEGIN on how to add references. I'd be happy to help you with that article as well, but try and format it and model it after Maximillian Joseph Koeck. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 00:19, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Any idea when Maximillian Joseph Koeck died? I can't find any information on it in any source. We should really cover as biographies on living persons are handled very differently on Wikipedia, although it should be obvious that he is surely dead by now. Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 00:32, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I know I am sorta blundering into this. Working on finding the death date now...

Philippina Espenshied edit

Please review my last post. Your new article, Philippina Espenshied, does not contain any references and lacks sufficient context. As such, in its current fashion it will likely get deleted. I don't have time to fix all of your work. I realize you are new to Wikipedia, so next time please first submit your article for review so that more experienced editors can help you refine it before it goes live. Again take a look at WP:YFA and use the article wizard to create articles, which will prompt you to submit it for review. — MusikAnimal talk 00:50, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry... I am trying to get that now. I didn't see your post until after I had done it.

Jeffryobrien (talk) 00:54, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Maximillian Joseph Koeck was a notable brewer and it was easy to find references on him, but looks like Philippina may not meet our notability guideline. As you can see another reviewer already marked it for deletion. Don't be offended, just remember not everything can be on Wikipedia. WP:YFA goes into detail about what you should consider before creating an article. — MusikAnimal talk 00:58, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

She was sculpted by Rukstull. It was called "Evening" and is still in the New York Metropolitan Museum.

Ok this sounds promising that the article can be saved. I'll try to help but I'm running out of time tonight, but I'll keep an eye on it.
And just FYI, you should sign your posts at the end of the sentence rather than on a new line so as keep the flow of the talk page cleaner. So e.g. my message here ~~~~. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 01:09, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, and sorry. Jeffryobrien (talk) 01:10, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

No worries! Thought I'd let you in on this Google Books citation tool which is very, very handy. For other refs, use the refToolbar which is also pretty nifty, and try to fill in as many fields as possible. Cheers — MusikAnimal talk 01:35, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
