Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kottiyoor Vysakha Mahotsavam, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Spring, Sati and Gokarna (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi thnks for informing Sati is directed to Sati (goddess), Spring is directed to Spring (hydrology),

Gokarnam is directed to Gokarna, India,

I have fixed the redirection of Gokarnam. It is necessary because the people of South India pronounces Gokarnam instead of Gokarna. And I hope I have used the hyperlink of Sati and Spring correctly. I could not find where exactly the link is in the page, If possible please fix it.

Welcome!

Copying within Wikipedia

edit

It appears that you are copy pasting a lot of content from one article to another.

Please read Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

Although I may be wrong. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:21, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi, well I'll explain!! ;-), The topic is about Hindu religion. In case if you are not from Hindu religion, you may have some confusion. There is an ancient Sanskrit literature which tells a story about a Yaga or a religious ceremony. Later on this literature had immense impact on the culture of India (various religious practices originated from this literature- some even bad that a huge movements were needeed to abolish them) There is a Sect in Hinduism named Shaktism devoted to The Mother Goddess, This sect mainly sets its base on the above said literature. This sect is a major religious sect within Hinduism.

Well I am sorry about explaining too much.

The point is there are 51 Major Temples all around South Asia, in India, Bagladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. So it is essential to classify the wikipedia pages corresponding to these temples and briefly explaining the commonalities between all these temples. That is the reason for the same script in the pages related to these temples. The commonality is explained in the th page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakti_Peethas Please check it. There are 51 temples so you must have thought about me being a vandal!! ;-) but I am not so... I am just trying to classify informations..

I gave a brief description with a Error: no page names specified (help). tag, in some of them for connecting all of the scattered pages together.

I think I understand. Are you adding new content to Wikipedia or only copying from article to article? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:43, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Well it could be a sort of adding new article in certain pages. Those pages any how at a later point of time would add this information. I was categorizing these pages highlighting the commonality between them.

Hi well I think you could help me in knowning on how to do 'Edit Summary' for the Editing we make. I am pretty naive to wikipedia.

Please use "edit summaries"

edit

Hello Ilango adikal chera, and again thank you for your enthusiasm for improving Wikipedia.
When you make changes ("edit") to Wikipedia pages ("articles") it is a good idea to always use "edit summaries". An edit summary explains what changes you have made to an article. An edit summary lets other editors know why you have made changes to an article.
An edit summary can also show that you have copied information from one article into another. This is very important, because Wikipedia content is subject to copyright laws.
Thank you! Peter in Australia --Shirt58 (talk) 13:08, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Peter, Thnks for informing, I am comparatively new to wikipedia. I will try to find how to do summary and do like that henceforth. Thx once again

Hi! Peter, I just found the 'Edit Summary' thx.

Hi! I understand the mistake, the link I have meant is Sati (goddess), Please give me some time to resolve this. I understand that Sati is a disambiguation redirection. I am relatively new to Wikipedia if possible please help to resolve this.

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
