Here are some tips:

Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

Image copyright problem with Image:SixtusI.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:SixtusI.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. Emblem of the Maldives

Hello lef,

I noticed that you are changing Maldives National Emblem.svg, on articles its being used, to Coat of arms of Maldives.png. Logo of Racing FC Union Luxembourg

The logo that you've uploaded (Image:Racing FC Union Luxembourg.png) is not the logo of the current club, but actually that of Union Luxembourg, one of its predecessors. The logo of the present club can be found here. I can't upload at the moment, so could you replace this, please? You could then re-upload the Union Luxembourg image (e.g. under the name 'Union Luxembourg logo') to add to that article. Bastin 15:25, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

FA Premier League club logos

I see you edited the league table in FA Premier League 2006-07, adding in the logos of the respective clubs. Although I like the idea very much, these images are copyrighted and claimed for fair use, which means that they can only be used on the club's actual page, and thus I had no choice but to remove them from the article. These copyright laws are all explained on each logo's page. See Image:Arsenal FC.png for an example. Ross1 23:11, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Reverted your edit to Pedro Carmona

I reverted your edit to Pedro Carmona because there is not a clear criterium to number Venezuelan Presidents. In Venezuela, unlike the USA, we never put ordinals to the Presidents. La Liga and Serie A deletion

You better have a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/La Liga 2006/2007 results December 2006. Basically a non footballing wikipedian has nominated the detailed results sections of Serie A and La Liga for deletion. I'm personally totally against them being deleted. Hi. A wandering wikignome wonders, why are you adding a picture to the infoboxes, as on Czech Republic? And what really made me ask, is that the picture is for some other purpose, and it says on the image page: "This file has been superseded by Image:Gnome-globe.svg."

Numbering UK PMs

PMs in the UK aren't numbered and there is no consensus at all on how any such scheme would work - see Talk:List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom#Numbering. Please can you stop adding dubious numbers that require POV and OR to determine them. Timrollpickering 19:57, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

British Prime Ministers aren't numbered for several boring reasons. Firstly, the term "Prime Minister" wasn't used until the early twentieth century, before then the office was called "First Lord of the Treasury", in fact to this day the Prime Minister still is the First Lord of the Treasury, that's what it says on No. 10's letterbox. Another thing is, the United Kingdom didn't exist until 1801, before then it was Great Britain, so technically Robert Walpole was the first Prime Minister of Great Britain and Henry Addington was the last Prime Minister of Great Britain and the first Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Also, there is a debate as to weather non-consecutive terms are counted twice, like the way the Americans count Grover Cleveland, the Downing Street website says Gordon Brown will be the 52nd person to walk through the doors of Downing Street as PM not the 75th. Then there is the issue of how many times Ramsay MacDonald is counted as the government changed part way through his second term but he remained as Prime Minister. Finally, it's just not a British tradition to count the number people who have held a particular office. Hope you will now undo those already numbered. Galloglass 22:22, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
