March 2021 edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your edits to Chris Paul, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history, as well as helping prevent edit conflicts. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

The Show preview button is right next to the Publish changes button and below the edit summary field.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Engr. Smitty Werben 09:52, 22 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

I use it my guy. I'm editing using my phone and when I previewed it, it was perfectly fine. This is the first time that the one shown in the preview page is different from what was published. I review everything I published but I'm only human so I'm not as fast as a lightning in making changes if there are any errors. Thanks for pointing it out so quickly. Help getting page protection for Nikola Vučević edit

Hello,

I noticed you have been making some great contributions to the Nikola Vučević page, and was wondering if you could help to get the semi-protection restored for his page. It just recently expired and given the amount of high traffic and persistent IP vandalism the page gets I think it would be a necessary preventative measure. Thank you for any help you can provide.Docholliday11 (talk) 04:25, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Docholliday11,

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, only administrators can protect pages, which I am not.

Maybe you should check out the page history and see who enabled the page protection and reach out to that user. I hope this helps.

Have a good day and stay safe. Heyaisa (talk) 07:15, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for April 29 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Yudai Baba, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Baba. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:54, 29 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Eito Yuminami edit

The article Eito Yuminami has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Meets neither WP:COLLATH or WP:NBASKET.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Chuanxing Liu name edit

Just wondering, but why is your page called Liu Chuanxing and not the other way around as Chuanxing Liu like the NBL website?

Source: Chuanxing Liu profile

Giacontigers (talk) 03:46, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Giacontigers,

Thanks for asking. It's the convention — in Chinese name, family name comes first before the given name (see the family hatnote for a detailed explanation).

Given name ONLY comes first, followed by the last name if it is ANGLICISED. Hence, Liu's name is listed as Chuanxing Liu in the NBL website.

If you check out other Chinese figures article here in Wikipedia, they observe the naming convention. To give out concrete examples — Yao Ming, Zhou Qi, Yi Jianlian and Sun Yue. The the Wikipedia naming consensus follows the Chinese naming convention. Having last name comes first is not only observed by Chinese but also of Korean. So if you check their articles, subject is listed with last name first followed by given name.

Hope this helps. Heyaisa (talk) 04:38, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
