Vandalism

Hi Guerillero, thank you for your great work protecting articles from vandalism, and please accept my belated welcome to the project!

By the way, when undoing vandalism, please be careful to check if the vandal made more than one consecutive edit that needs to be reverted. On Hardest language, when you undid this, you missed his previous edit which was also vandalism. In cases like this, it's best to check the article history and revert all the edits by going back to the version before the vandal started editing; or, if you're up for it, the rollback tool can help you revert multiple vandalism edits quickly. Once you have accumulated a little more experience with vandalism-undoing, I would be happy to enable the rollback tool for you if you want it. rʨanaɢ ^talk/_contribs 01:30, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

RE: looks good

Thanks for your interest. The removal of the section was motivated by its favoring bias and how nothing was sourced there, along with a little bit of original research being in the article (concerning the "aggrothrash" stuff). When you say "scrapped", do you mean taken from the section and re-added to the article. It would be for that if there could be sources found for such information, but I didn't have it in mind to take the information deleted and re-add it as it was. Cupeyville School

Guerillero I need help, please!!!!! After editing the page you saw, Cupeyville School...a bot reverted EVERYTHING!!!! and all the great changes I made were lost. Hi, please could you comment on this thread Talk:Self-harm#Map_of_self_inflicted_injuries regarding the map (I see you commented on the reassessment page). I am keen to get the issue of the map resolved but I think I am failing to use the correct langauge maybe or just can't seem to get my points across adequately. While I am happy that you took the time to find a reference (a fast check by me turned up nothing, but having little knowledge about this matter makes it harder to search for refences). However, I have just read the reference and have been unable to find anything supporting the sentence in the wiki article (if anything, that article appears more one-sided on the gang-like aspect than the National Geographic program), which is at least as problematic as having no reference. Could you please point me to the place in the article that support a change away from some of the more controversial aspects began in the 90s (or at any specific point for that matter). Vandalism

Hi Guerillero. At this edit to Self harm you reverted an edit with the summary "Reverted 1 edit by Susan. muzondo (talk) identified as vandalism to last revision by Micron2. (TW)." Please be more careful with that, this was clearly not vandalism, so your language is rather insulting to the new editor and breaches several policies including WP:CIVIL, WP:AGF, WP:NPA & WP:BITE. PROD template to wrong the user

You gave a PROD template to the wrong user which was Tide rolls. The only time you use a PROD template is when the author created the page and also if it's been proposed for deletion. WAYNEOLAJUWON 02:30, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Greeting. I placed the template on Tide rolls's page because he edited the article and warned the maker of the article about OR. It was more of a heads up then a "hey your article is could be deleted". Also can you please read the policy in question before trying to correct me. This is from WP:PROD "The article's creator or other significant contributors should ideally be left a message at their talk page(s) informing them of the proposed article deletion". He did a fairly large revert so i felt that he may be a significant contributor to the way the article is now. --Guerillero | My Talk 03:04, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

No way would find it humiliating, I assume that someone who did not attend a language course like me, I take my shallow knowledge of English is far beyond what it should (you can see that I'm a foreigner, right? Maybe even give to identify my native language as romance, or iberian, etc. everything I write "seems" not English, haha). Green Day GA

Hello! I'd be perfectly happy to assist you in your review of Green Day. For starters, I think that the most useful thing here would be the previous assessment done in January; it is quite thorough, and you can see a comparison between the January and current versions of the article here. Normally, a review starts with a quick skim read, checking for any major problems - the key ones to look out for are:

1. The article completely lacks reliable sources – see Wikipedia:Verifiability.
2. The topic is treated in an obviously non-neutral way – see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view.
3. There are cleanup banners that are obviously still valid, including {{cleanup}}, {{wikify}}, {{POV}}, {{unreferenced}} or large numbers of {{fact}}, {{citation needed}}, {{clarifyme}}, or similar tags.
4. The article is or has been the subject of ongoing or recent, unresolved edit wars.
5. The article specifically concerns a rapidly unfolding current event with a definite endpoint.

Point 4 requires checking the article history, whilst the rest can be done by just reading the article. I would suggest you start by checking the article against these points; once you feel the article meets these criteria, we can begin the main part of the review. Seeing as you've noticed some problems with some references in the article already, you might want to have a look at this tool - it checks all the citations/references, and reports on whether they are working or not, saving a lot of work. I had a quick look, and there seems to be a large number of dead or redirected links in the article at the moment - weebiloobil (talk) 09:23, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

It depends how it's used. If the article says "...with the fansite greendayauthority.com reporting that...", then the source is fine; if the article quotes something as fact that's been uploaded by a fan on to the site, then probably not. As the site is a collection of news stories, there may be better sources for some of the information anyway. Because the site is run by a small number of fans with specific jobs, it seems well-organised, and probably more reliable than other Green Day fansites. Anything remotely contentious shouldn't be sourced with only this site, and any blog-like elements to the site (e.g. 'Are they going to release a new album next year?' or 'so-and-so was their best album yet') can't be used, but otherwise it can be used with caution. Whoops, sorry for ignoring you for a while, but I was suddenly called to interview at Oxford and I lost track of things a bit. I find the best thing to do when checking prose is to copy the text of the article into something like Microsoft Word, and see if there are any grammar/spelling points it doesn't like. I also read through the article very slowly, and anything that doesn't make sense initially, or I think looks wrong, I look up in a dictionary. When in doubt, you can always ask another editor to read over a bit and see what they think. I see that you have put the article on hold until after Christmas - this is, I think the best option - but when you put an article on hold you need to change the status of the article on the GA nominations template on the article talk page to 'onhold', as in {{GA nominee|...|status=onhold}}, which I have already done for you. It is now a waiting game to see how the article is improved - weebiloobil (talk) 11:03, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
