Getting articles (and additions to existing articles) accepted

Gramy23, I've seen that you've been trying to contribute to Wikipedia and finding that your materials are being rejected. That can be dispiriting, but it may help to know the reason, so you can go for it with more success.

The basic thing is that we work entirely from sources, which we select to be reliable, i.e. of good quality. Those sources can then be checked by other editors to ensure we're not making it up, going beyond what is written there, or interpreting the sources wrongly. The result is an encyclopedia which is in the main correct, clear, and helpful.

The upshot of that is that every article has a list of sources at the end; and that supports the text precisely, as each source is called out by a particular sentence or paragraph in the text with a blue-numbered Reference. Each source is Cited clearly (any sensible format will do, actually, but you should include the source's title, author, date, publisher, and URL).
