GITAM Name
editChanging Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management to GITAM Deemed to be University— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gitam Wiki (talk • contribs) 07:48, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- I work at GITAM and GITAM as a deemed to be university. It is not referred as Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management.

- Thanks for clarifying that you are employed by them. As a paid editor please familiarize yourself with the relevant policy WP:PAID, and from now on no longer make edits to the article directly. Instead you can request changes, supplied with reliable sources, on the article's talk page. That would also be the right place to request a move of the article to a different name. Another thing: Based on your username it might appear that this is a shared account/role account by the University. Sharing accounts is however not allowed per Wikipedia policy, and each individual should have their own account. Let me know if you have any questions.– NJD-DE (talk) 11:30, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, this is my account and it is not a shared account. Only I have access to this account.
- Why shouldn't I make changes to the article directly? I don't understand this policy.
- Could you please help me with scrapping offshoot pages and redundant pages on the company I work for on Wikipedia?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gitam Wiki (talk • contribs) 11:34, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
- Please read the policy WP:PAID first, as well as the message I had left for you below. – NJD-DE (talk) 11:42, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Gitam Wiki. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – NJD-DE (talk) 10:26, 20 December 2021 (UTC)
