Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Again, welcome! —Kf4bdy talk contribs
License tagging for Image:Gopalshankar veena1998.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Gopalshankar veena1998.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Young GopalShankarMisra.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Young GopalShankarMisra.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 18:40, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Samaveda do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Buddhipriya 23:56, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Do you have any evidence of this, like email communication? If you don't, please get it, and forward it to the OTRS system. See instructions at WP:COPYREQ#When permission is confirmed. Speedy deletion of Ustad Abid Hussain
editA tag has been placed on Ustad Abid Hussain requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —BradV 18:09, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Image permission problems
editI recently looked at Image:Raginigopal amma.gif and Image:GopalshankarMisra veena1998.jpg and added permission templates to them because they had insuffient verification of their licenses. Please ask the person who created the images to either:
- make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating ownership of the material and the intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If the owner of the images has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
Unfortunately many of your pictures have similar problems. Please provide evidence of permission for all of them or they will have to be deleted. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 23:31, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
The article Bharatiya Sangeet Vadya has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not notable enough for a Wikipedia entry
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. kashmiri TALK 06:11, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
