Telecom Italia doesn't exist anymore, it's called TIM edit

Hi, Telecom Italia doesn't exist anymore, it's called TIM since 19 February 2015, did you know it? reference: http://www.facile.it/adsl/news/telecom-italia-diventa-tim.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Funnylolo55 (talkcontribs) 17:05, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Funnylolo55: thanks for the information, but you must move pages with the tool to move pages, and not copying and pasting text from one page to another. The article Telecom Italia can be moved to TIM (company) and the article TIM (Company), created by you, must be merged to the article Telecom Italia. Telecom Italia Mobile should continue as an independent article. See WP:MERGE for more information. Gabriel (talkcontribs) 17:30, 20 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

(disclaimer: I am an employee of Telecom Italia) The information Funnylolo55 wrote is simply false. What is happening is quite different: Telecom Italia will use the brand TIM for both mobile and fixed-line commercial services to the end users, but the name of the firm will remain Telecom Italia. I quickly browsed the other modifications he or she made, and they are generally wrong. At the moment I am not at home, so I cannot provide you yet with the correct fonts: may I please ask you which is the best thing to do in such cases? I know what I would have done on it.wiki, but of course en.wiki has its own rules. TIA, --.mau. 11:12, 27 March 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by .mau. (talkcontribs)

@.mau.:, I've read this Telecom Italia press relase. The change is similar with the Telefónica and Movistar/Vivo brand change: the Telefónica brand was maintained as a corporate brand and Movistar and Vivo brands have become the trademarks of the company's consumer products. You can justify the article's talk page that the rebranding to TIM is only for the services to the consumer and that it will continue calling so it can help. I will also do this. Thanks for the warning. Gabriel (talkcontribs) 14:24, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Gabriel dos Santos:, I added on the talk page another press release where it is clearly stated that TIM will be just the brand name for the offer. I don't want to do myself any modification to that page... I am restoring SIAE, where I have no conflict of interests and where that user added personal opinions, like a supposed COI of the present President of the society who is a publisher. Actually SIAE is an acronym for "Italian society of authors and publishers" :-) . Thanks! --.mau. 20:34, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

January 2017 edit

Hello, I'm Philip J Fry. I noticed that you made a change to an article, El Bienamado, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Philip J Fry (talk) 13:50, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please add reliable sources to what you are adding. Well the sources are talking about the version that was made for television, which is O Bem-Amado.--Philip J Fry (talk) 13:56, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
As you can see, here is said to be a remake and is based on the television version.--Philip J Fry (talk) 14:01, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Philip J Fry: Globo lost the all rights of the Dias Gomes works and the network couldn't create remakes from these works, but remain the rights for the telenovelas that which have already been produced for reruns. If Globo can't create new shows from the Dias Gomes works, this telenovela itself is not based on Globo's O Bem-Amado, but in the original Dias Gomes work. The source that I included in the article explain it.
Globo lost the rights of all telenovelas written by Dias Gomes (...) With the rights lost, Globo will no longer be able to produce remakes of these telenovelas, and will be restricted to rerun the telenovelas (...) The Mexican network Televisa showed interest in negotiating the purchase of the rights to the Dias Gomes works (...) Portal Imprensa
Sources from Mexico, like People en Español, La Opinión, El Universal, and the Televisa press release, not cite that the telenovela is a remake. Gabriel (talkcontribs) 16:20, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
I still rely on the current sources, they only talk about this one based on the version that was made in 1973, if when the telenovela premieres the telenovela accredit that other work, maybe it can be added, but in any case at any moment I saw That you added references.--Philip J Fry (talk) 23:11, 17 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Philip J Fry: Globo's relationship with Televisa is competitive on the international market of telenovelas. If Globo produce a remake of the telenovela, it would be done on TV Azteca, Globo's partner in Mexico. Here in Brazil, Televisa is widely criticized for the quality of its telenovelas, including by Globo, which makes point of making its opinion clear: "Globo don't want to look like Televisa". Globo has a website, called "Globo TV International", which includes its productions made outside Brazil. "El Bienamado" is not included there. Note that the production models of Globo and Televisa are very different:
Televisa sells the closed package and allows, to the buyer, make any interference that feel necessary. Already Globo, offers a catalog of approximately 250 titles, but the adaptations made are restricted and should only approximate the local culture. UOL
For comparison, a similar situation happened recently, when RecordTV announced that it would make a remake of another Globo work, called Pai Herói. Globo later denied that it would be a remake because it owns the rights of the telenovela, but not of the original work: "Globo says that is the owner of Pai Herói; Record version will be generic". Already Memória Globo, which I inserted as source in the article, has information about the 1973 telenovela origins. Gabriel (talkcontribs) 15:07, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

RecordTV Internacional edit

Any particular reason why you redirected this article? Seems notable enough, isn't it?  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  15:25, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Paine Ellsworth: It is not about the question of notability. Nothing indicates that "RecordTV Internacional" is different from "RecordTV". Gabriel (talkcontribs) 22:29, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
My understanding is that the international version is a subtopic of the overall RecordTV. One wouldn't redirect Cadillac to car, would one? Since "Cadillac" is a notable type of "car", it has its own article, so if RecordTV Internacional is a notable subtopic of RecordTV, then it seems that it should also have its own article, isn't that so?  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  02:00, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Paine Ellsworth: There is no signal called "RecordTV Internacional", as there is CNN International, for example. Record operates in several countries and regions with local signals. There is RecordTV Europa, RecordTV África, RecordTV Japan, RecordTV Americas, but not a single signal called "RecordTV Internacional". Gabriel (talkcontribs) 19:18, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
If there is no "signal", then why is there a description of it in the RecordTV article?:

RecordTV Internacional is the international service of RecordTV. It is available in North America, Europe, Africa—including Uganda, and (since 2008) Asia.[21]

If RecordTV Internacional exists as the "international service of RecordTV" as described, then it does seem deserving of its own article in this reference work, which is why others continue to bring it back each time you delete and redirect it. Let me suggest that, instead of edit warring with IPs, you restore the article, and if you still think it has no place on Wikipedia, then nominate it for deletion at AfD. That way, we will involve other editors who will help assess the article's sustainability.  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  07:21, 8 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Paine Ellsworth: I see no reason to delete, since the title can be considered an alternative name. Gabriel (talkcontribs) 14:44, 8 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
I agree that there is no reason to delete. I also think there is no reason to redirect, so I will restore the article. Please don't just redirect it again. If you don't think the title deserves its own article, then you can nominate it at AfD and suggest that the title be redirected. Thank you for your contributions and Happy Holidays!  Paine Ellsworth  put'r there  18:01, 9 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
