How to set up a new page moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, How to set up a new page, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Draft:Archibald Kay

edit

Hi, I have moved your draft article to Draft:Archibald Kay which if/when accepted would be moved to mainspace as Archibald Kay. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). However, as Shirt58 just mentioned on my talk page as a member of the Royal Scottish Academy this is generally enough to be considered notable.

So all this is left is to add references to source the information given and resubmit. As the decline notice says see Help:Referencing for beginners, also as a new editor if you have any questions do ask over at the Wikipedia:Teahouse . Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:41, 21 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Kylie, this is all new to me but I am trying to get up to speed as there are multiple areas I can contribute to from my past life. Is the best place for advice the tearoom ?
Thank you,

  • Hi I only just noticed this as I was pinged (name linked in signed messages) in the last reviewers comments. Yes the Wikipedia:Teahouse is the best place for new users to ask questions to get advice from many experienced editors. Alternatively there is the Wikipedia:Help desk for the same purpose but not aimed at new editors. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 10:01, 7 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
