Speedy deletion of Bruno Martino edit

A tag has been placed on Bruno Martino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ÆÅM «(fætsøn!) 10:45, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Max Leopold Wagner edit

Hello Fpittui,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Max Leopold Wagner for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Paul Carpenter, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Antonio Sanna, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Paul Carpenter}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi User:Onel5969,
The article I created some time ago, Motettu de tristura, is more suitable than ever to remain published. The sources are few but sufficient.
This is a piece of folk music of "oral tradition". This genre of traditional music is a subject of study of the ethnomusicology. Music of oral tradition includes all the music that is produced in areas or cultures located outside the written European musical tradition and cultured type.
It is therefore the music of the so-called primitive populations, the oriental music and the musical folklore of the Euro-white populations of the West.
It is no coincidence that Luciano Berio rewrote the piece for voice (mezzo-soprano), flute, clarinet, harp, percussion, viola and cello. The piece of music was brought to international attention after Luciano Berio included it in the 1964 collection of Folk Songs. This piece is now part of the repertoire of many operatic singers.
I don't know what mysterious instinct prompted you to delete the entry from wikipedia but, given your generic and arbitrary arguments, it sure is an improper action.
It is desirable that the voice is properly restored, wikipedia would benefit greatly.

Hello, User:Hey man im josh. I would like to understand in what sense or what are the reasons why you define this entry <deemed unsuitable for the main space of the encyclopedia> In my opinion it is clear that this piece of popular and folkloric music has every right to be published on wikipedia. In fact, this text, composed by the most important poet of the Sardinian language, is a protest against a measure of the Savoy monarchy and is a testimony of the popular culture of the Sardinian people. This text, sung originally with the tecnique of cantu a tenore, which is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists, has been revisited by musicians of classical music, including Osvaldo Golijov. Consequently it is part of the international musical repertoire.
Therefore I have no intention of working on it further, at the moment, because the news is fragmentary but is sufficient to describe important facts. The issues raised, in my opinion, are arbitrary and based on bias. So I would ask you to try to understand and respect the values that this short poetic and musical composition represents. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Fpittui (talk) 19:26, 27 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

P.S.: To exercise criticism you need to know the arguments. Criticism is positive when it is understandable, but if it is arbitrary and/or devoid of significance it may not be pleasant and unnecessary.Fpittui (talk) 20:27, 13 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:34, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Farewell to Tarwathie moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Farewell to Tarwathie. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability, it has too many problems of language or grammar and Sources fail WP:BLOG. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Pbritti (talk) 00:48, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Farewell to Tarwathie edit

The article Farewell to Tarwathie has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources do not seem to support notability for this topic. Fails GNG and WP;NSONG. have been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works whose sources are independent of the artist.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
